Noticed that the number drops after you remove the lump from the ground everytime, maybe a moisture meter test of the area ground to then subtract the number from the metal detector reading could be a prefind determination
After watching you find things and going through the nubers, i was thinking and going to ask if next time you could bring a known item with you and put back in the same hole buried and comapre the numbers to then see a accurate number to a better guess idk just random question, this could determine the ground difference in the actual deposits
The VDI (signal number) is determined by the type of metal detected. The number can vary slightly if there are multiple different metals nearby (like a nail or other iron found naturally in soil).
One more dig day... I knew you could do it. I'll bet everything is frozen solid now. Another heart necklace? how wonderful.
Looked like halve a bobbin spool
😁

Great suggestion, we’ll have to give that a try!

We’ll think about trying that next time we’re out!
Is the signal number determine the depth or the mineral

Depth is also given by the detector. It’s the bars to the right of the large number on the screen. Each bar is 2” depth.
