Greetings Donna, I finally got around to making your doctored up red velvet cake, but I made a few changes to it. Instead of using red velvet cake mix, I used Betty Crocker's white cake mix with the pudding included. I also added 1 TBSP of AmeriColor super red color jel ( the same red food coloring you used), two TBSP of cocoa power(leveled), two TBSP of vinegar, and I didn't add any coffee. My cake turned out to be blood red and I love it !!! I'm gonna keep experimenting with this recipe. The cake is great the way it turned out, but next time I'm gonna see what happens if I add some sour cream...😋

Hi Donna. I made the Devil Food Cake last weekend. I baked mine in a sheet pan, and I did my chocolate icing, that I boiled on top of the stove. It was soòo delicious. Can't wait to try the Red Velvet Cake.
I hate the extreme fluffiness/ holes in boxed mix since they changed the formulas. I have found that as soon as I pull cake out of oven I place paper towels on top and cover with pot holder, I then press down on cake, all over, not too hard , but it does help to make cake more dense. Also Donna, I know you love Creme bouquet, but have you ever tried "sweet buttery dough" flavor emulsion from Lorrann? It's amazing in yellow/pound cakes. Smells divine!
@@missb2182 it's so hard to describe. It's a tiny bit citrusy, buttery, smells like a fresh glazed doughnut. Sometimes I just open the bottle to smell it. ❤️
