Can you please do a video with Betty crockers butter pecan cake mix to taste homemade and moist? Sorry if it’s a big favor to ask but my son has cancer and loves butter pecan flavored foods and snacks and I want to surprise him with a butter pecan cake! Also love your video by the way!❤
Hi, You would need to use Buttermilk in the recipe. Buttermilk is a key ingredient when making Red Velvet cake from scratch, and it gives the box cake the taste, texture, and flavor that is the signature of Red Velvet cake. Side note: I do have several other recipes that call for Buttermilk on my channel; pancakes, muffins, etc, you will find those in my desserts Playlist (if you are needing ways to utilize the carton of Buttermilk). Although I recommend using Buttermilk, you can, in a pinch "make" Buttermilk. 1 C. of Whole milk plus 1 T. of fresh lemon juice. Mix together and let sit in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. The milk will sour/curdle and can be used to substitute for Buttermilk. Use it in the measurement needed. Hope that information helps!!

Great cake hack! I used coffee instead of water and a tablespoon of cocoa. The extra cocoa does darken the red color but to me it’s worth it.🏆❤️

Does adding a tsp of vinegar work in any cake mix besides the Red Velvet mix? I figure if it helps one type it would work in all of them...?

Personally I've only added it to Red Velvet and Devils Food cake mix. However yellow or white cake mix should work just as well. 😊

Yes, it's best to use room temperature water, eggs, oil, vinegar. The Buttermilk can be from the fridge.

I suggest looking up a conversion chart to assist you, as my recipe is in the U.S. metric system of Cups and Tablespoons.
Going to try this out on an 8x8 & 12 cupcakes … Hope it works out. Cupcakes will cook faster so less time I think

Pretty much spot on. The Buttermilk I add really makes a difference in the taste and texture. Plus with my homemade cream cheese frosting ❤️❤️.
