This is such a masterpiece! I must have watched it over five times. This is how Pakistani dramas should be. Not the fake dramas we are bombarded with these days with poor acting , tons of make up and poor stories. Just amazing to see how realistic each actor’s portrayal. Love love the dad’s character. I’m closest to my father of all people and I can completely relate to this. My father has always been my biggest support and I can speak my heart out to him. This is such a beautiful portrayal of father- daughter relationship.
It's beyond my understanding why so many comments are about the bonding between daughter and her father, or just appreciating the father. The father's character seems to be an example of toxic positivity to me. He never *really* hears what Shehwar is saying; rather keeps persuading her to bravely tolerate the abuse...
Dad was just giving her strength. He asked her when she was at her parents house that do you want to divorce? I think if she said yes her dad would respect her decision. But he knew that only his positivity will bring hope in her life.
We have to understand the time in which this drama is set in the 70 or 80,she was also given the option of divorce,which she did not took, so in that scenario and in that time a girl has done what dureshehwar is doing.

I don't know why people are praising her father. He is watching his daughter die and keeps telling her to stay patient. This is such toxic mentality and the reason so many women suffer endlessly.

Well realistically thats what happens? I get in a theoretical situation we would want Shahwar’s dad to take a stand but a father from the 80s would give such advice to his daughter. And so would father’s now in the 21st century especially in middle class households. We feel for Shahwar cause what she is going through is what most women in South Asia go through.

At least Dur e Shehwar has her father to talk to. She always sends him letters, and they talk whenever she goes back home. And his father is an exquisite man he always gives good advice. In marriage, you always have to compromise. Be patient. You have to face the trials and tribulations with resilience to enjoy the fruits. If it’s worth it, and the situation is such and matters haven’t gone so wrong, then you should compromise. Like Mansoor hasn’t ever hit Dur e Shehwar (if it was like that she should divorce him and live life independently or choose a better man because there are nicer options) or he hasn’t cheated on her, he doesn’t do drugs etc.

It's beyond my understanding why so many comments are about the bonding between daughter and her father, or just appreciating the father. The father's character seems to be an example of toxic positivity to me. He never *really* hears what Shehwar is saying; rather keeps persuading her to bravely tolerate the abuse...
Dad was just giving her strength. He asked her when she was at her parents house that do you want to divorce? I think if she said yes her dad would respect her decision. But he knew that only his positivity will bring hope in her life.

Well realistically thats what happens? I get in a theoretical situation we would want Shahwar’s dad to take a stand but a father from the 80s would give such advice to his daughter. And so would father’s now in the 21st century especially in middle class households. We feel for Shahwar cause what she is going through is what most women in South Asia go through.

She tolerated those ppl on her own will. Dad was at fault for marrying her in the wrong type of household. He was an educated gentleman who couldnt bring himself to instigate his daughter against her hubby. It was all words but those very words were so powerful that his daughter was inspired to continue.

At least Dur e Shehwar has her father to talk to. She always sends him letters, and they talk whenever she goes back home. And his father is an exquisite man he always gives good advice. In marriage, you always have to compromise. Be patient. You have to face the trials and tribulations with resilience to enjoy the fruits.
If it’s worth it, and the situation is such and matters haven’t gone so wrong, then you should compromise. Like Mansoor hasn’t ever hit Dur e Shehwar (if it was like that she should divorce him and live life independently or choose a better man because there are nicer options) or he hasn’t cheated on her, he doesn’t do drugs etc.
This drame and each moment is speechless and heart touching.... The drama is truly based on today's society and trust me it happened with me exactly.... I have the same father ...
