My recipe/technique for making up carrageenan. I make my 'size' up a bit thicker and water down the next morning to my required consistency . I buy my carrageenan from the lovely Lynne at www.dyeman.com/
Not boring at all! As a newcomer to this art form, I am super grateful for your basics! I think you might give yourself more credit. You're wonderful with tutorials! Thank you so much!
Would you mind adding to your description, the reason why or what you use the carrageenan for? As a brand newcomer to marbling, this is not at all clear. 😂🙃🤓 Thank you for your most awesome video!
Wondering, is Carrageenan similar to Xanthan Gum? Do you think it would work? Is it worth experimenting? Great video, Thanks heaps, I am brand new to this after seeing one of your reels on FB. I live way out west of you
Every country has slightly different sources of carrageenan and different water, which effects the end result, so I recommend that people around the world research paper marbling courses near them or reach out to major art suppliers for recommendations.
Sure do and sometimes have to very gradually water down for paint to float and spread successfully especially in winter when everything is tight 😆. Everything tends to flow better in hot and humid months. But add extra water sparingly as you can easily over water down.
Thanks so much! My first attempt did not work. I am trying again this morning. Prepared carrageenan last night. I want to do bottles and put lights in them. You are such an inspiration to me! Wish I was able to take a class.❤
Unfortunately every country has a different supply of carrageenan which will need different amounts of water added etc. I recommend that people do their own research for the carrageenan in their own countries, look for paper marbling courses and art suppliers

Very nice video! How do you dispose of the used up contents, when it goes bad?
Carrageenan is seaweed so it fertilisers the garden
Hi, do you need the carrageenan when dipping a plastic satin finish christmas bulb?
Always
Who would you recommend or what brand would you recommend now since I went to the website for Lynne and it shows that the business is up for sale?
Yes it's up for sale but she's still selling and has loads of carrageenan. Just give her a ring.
@@raynbowcrowstudios2165 thank you so much! My husband wants this to be something we do together, thanks again
I have never done marbling but very interested. Is this carrageenan is what is in your water pan? What does this do?
Yes it thickens the water allowing the paint flow on top. Learn more by visiting the Jacquard Products website.

Hi, could you tell in grams how much carrageenan did you use?please
Every country has slightly different sources of carrageenan and different water, which effects the end result, so I recommend that people around the world research paper marbling courses near them or reach out to major art suppliers for recommendations.
Can you use acrylic paint with this solution?
Most marblers use watered down acrylics floated on the carrageenan.
How do you dispose of the left over liquid?❤
After days of using it I toss it on the garden as it's seaweed and water
@@raynbowcrowstudios2165 thats cool.
Hi Bronny, do you mix your carageenan the same for everything you marble? Thanks so much!
