I'm still very much a beginner, so I don't even have my sea-legs settled, but even I was going WTF when the one-off direct center was played. I did learn that a good stone is one that accomplishes more than one thing. I've been blown away by some of the things this channel has taught me. I'm looking so forward to becoming a better player. I'm playing occasionally on OGS and the Android Baduk Pop app.
Nice video! I'm still a ddk and sometimes get overwhelmed by all the strategies and "it's better to..." advice. This (the 'plop down stone') brought up an important point that I try to focus on when deciding the best move: Does the stone I'm about to play accomplish more than one thing? I heard a Go teacher (might have even been you!) stress that once, and it's stuck with me. The random plopped down stone in the video didn't seem to accomplish much. Like you said, you need to aim. Thanks for posting!
It was in the middle between white's two sides - "tengen" would have been closer to the white wall on the right. Not much more thinking needed, just the obvious "in the middle" place.
well, the problem is that without a clear goal, against a strong player that's just something that is going to happen. If you give your opponent a clear target to attack and he is strong everywhere, he can abuse your shape, and even if you manage to live, it will likely be with 2 pts of territory and he will get a huge advantage. The key is you want your invasions to be threatening something else, like a cutting point, or threatening to connect under, etc. That way your opponent has to defend those weaknesses and can't attack you 100%, giving you the time you need to make life.

I like game call go.
Thank you very much
the funniest thing about black's move is that it was not tengen! he must have put a lot of thought in this move not to play tengen

Why did black "have to" make a dumpling? Couldn't that "plop it in" move have been a winner if black had made life in there?
