Sounds like my late 90s dodge diesel old work truck. That dang thing took forever to heat up. I used to put cardboard over the radiator to help it heat up on the way to my first jobsite. Always had to turn it off at the drive-through because you couldn't order because of the noise. Mine got great fuel Mileage.

Go the Cummins patrol leaving the 79 series for dust. Gone in 6 seconds, oh and my TD has never over heated even when it’s towing and playing in the sand.
How good is that rig. My lc79 could definitely do with an upgrade on brakes

The 24valves are pretty well sealed up, the 12 valves let it rain.
Billet side covers will sort that one, a few guys in the states make them, o ringed and all 👍

This guy lol cant seem to grasp that 35" tyres on dry bitumen dumbing a clutch with 650hp though the drive line is going to break diffs and tail shafts yet he keeps doing it like a goose ,even drag cars start in water stupid ..
