Hi there. Thanks for the feedback. We just posted a new sublimation video testing out Hiipoo sublimation ink and paper on a variety of materials, including a dog shirt, if that helps. Check out the latest video on our channel if you’re interested in seeing that. Cheers!
Hey there! We haven’t done one, so we’re not sure of the steps. There could be something in the menus on the machine, though. You might try to do a TH-cam search for how to Power Clean an EcoTank 2720 - there are prob some videos out there…
I just open my printer today! Everything was going great until I printed out my image. Not a complete image. I have the same sub paper but Hippoo ink. Any helpful info that will help for the coloring. Thanks 🙏
Hey! We haven’t had this issue, but others who have mentioned something about the wifi potentially cutting out during the print. That might cause it to stop. And by the way, we have Hiipoo ink in another printer, and it works great as well!!
Great video, im still having trouble getting the black to print right, lots of lines across the print, etc. If I do the deep cleaning, is waiting the 12 hours reccomended?
Hey! For the printing part, yes - it’s just the special ink. Then you will, of course, need the special paper, heat and sublimation blanks in order to do the full process.
Congrats! You’re going to have so much fun. As for the ink seal - you could definitely use a glove to keep the ink off you. Cheers to your sublimation journey!
Ehhhh….theoretically, you could. However, sub ink is designed to release from the paper, so there’s no telling what kind of longevity it would have. The biggest issue is that your colors are going to be WAY off. Designs printed with sublimation ink don’t look “right” straight out of the printer. They have to be pressed with heat to actually turn their true colors. So while you technically could, it’s strongly advised against.
We let them cool a little bit but not all the way. Some people will dunk items in lukewarm water (not cold) to stop the sublimation process and speed up the cooling. We haven’t needed to do that yet, but it’s something you may consider trying.
You can. There are conversion kits to clean out the old ink. But this will greatly shorten the life of the printer. We have always installed sub ink into new printers to avoid this
Can you elaborate on the 8:12 mark when you say don't use alcohol! I am new and thought you needed to clean with it prior to application! Thanks in advance!
Thanks for watching! The alcohol should be used PRIOR to sublimating to clean the surface. But if you have any residue on it from the paper after sublimating, we recommend using just water. A-Sub paper tends to not pull off cleanly, so there’s usually a bit that you have to wipe off after subbing. Hope this helps!
Thank you for watching! First thing to look for is what size print an ET can put out. ET15000 can print 13x19 while 2760 prints only standard. After that it's mostly add-ons, scanner, fax, etc.
Really helpful. I've been looking to start sublimating phone cases, but because I'm based in Zambia, I have to consider hefty shipping charges for all items. So being able to see which printers are more affordable and a more compact heat press will really help alot. Thanks :)
Can you please make a video on how to convert a USED ecotank into a sublimation printer. Showing how to clean the lines, printer head, etc. Thanks in advance.
Hey! There are so many factors that could influence this (and we haven’t had that specific issue). It’s probably best to ask in one of the awesome Facebook groups on sublimating with Epson printers, as you can spare pics and get larger community feedback. Hope this helps!
We mirror in Photoshop; however, there is a way to do it in the print settings. The name of the function varies depending on your system, but look for something along the lines of mirror or reverse…

@@JustMightDIY Thank you so much I will definitely join that group. Think I will let the printer sit for the night also hopefully it helps solve the issue🙏
Hey! The 2720 should be an inkjet and not a laser. If you’re referring to an inkjet, we haven’t tried, but we have heard that you can technically convert a previously used one. You’ll want to buy a cleaning kit and ensure that the tanks and lines are totally empty of any previous ink before converting.
We’ve heard of people doing just that, though we haven’t tried it. Be sure to watch videos specifically on that process to clean out the old ink. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this video. I’ve had the 2720 for 2 years now but did not know this trick. Do you think it would be possible to empty my Ink and put the sublimation ink in? Or does the printer have to be new/unused
It's so much easier if it's unused. Cleaning the normal ink out will challenge the life of the machine. It's possible but we will never go try that again. And thank you for checking us out!

No worries, that is a cartridge printer for sure. We looked at that option but found too many elements that made an ecotank easier in the long run. Good luck. Happy crafting!
Hello - great question. No - sublimation doesn’t work on cotton. Sublimation needs polyester to work properly, and the higher the poly count, the more vibrant your design will be. A 65% poly is generally accepted as the lowest you should try to sublimate on, and even that will produce a vintage look.
Hi there. We haven’t tried any methods of printers for cotton t-shirts, so we wouldn’t want to recommend any specific ones. Something you could look up, though, is iron-on transfers like EasySubli that you can sublimate on. Again - not something we’ve tried yet. 😉
I love this! I didn’t have the patience to look through 400 comments to see if you already answered this question, so I hope you will forgive me. Have you tried the prints on T-shirts and if so, how did it come out? Thanks in advance.

Hey there! We actually made the printer cart with some plywood and Ikea shevles/drawers. The video tutorial of how we did it is here on our channel: th-cam.com/video/TsrLcLEO8Ac/w-d-xo.html
I need to ask, Was this Epson Converted or just Used Sub-Dye as apposed to Ink??? I have a Converted Epson pro WF-3720 and it has an outer ink box which flows into catrridges in printer. This One Looks so much easier
Hello! The only thing you have to do to am EcoTank to “convert” it into a sublimation printer is just put the sublimation ink in (when it’s brand new). Hope this helps!
Hi! Thanks for your question. This could depend on a number of factors. First, are you sure you’re using a true sublimation ink and paper? If so, the next possible culprit is that your shirt doesn’t have enough polyester. You want at least 75%, but 100% poly is best. Also, make sure you’re using a heat press set somewhere between 380-400 degrees for 40-45 seconds. Hope this helps!
Hi! There *is* a way to do it, though we haven’t tried. The sublimation groups on Facebook have more details on how it can be done, and there are probably a few TH-cam videos on the topic as well. Good luck and happy subbing!
Hey! You can do. 20oz tumbler in the Cricut Mug Press, as well as a few other awesome blanks! Below are some videos that you should check out on this topic: Sublimate a tumbler in the Cricut Mug Press: th-cam.com/video/g2I37B0iNNY/w-d-xo.html Other blanks we’ve tried in the Mug Press: th-cam.com/video/IVzwTAaI0FY/w-d-xo.html How tall/wide of tumblers you can use in the Mug Press: th-cam.com/video/dCOUGOtOnCY/w-d-xo.html The convection oven is honestly easiest for the tall tumblers, but the Mug Press will do the trick for sure!

Hello! You’ll need a printer that’s been converted with sublimation ink, sublimation paper to print out your design on, a sublimation mug and some sort of mug heat press to actually apply the design. Hope this helps!
Hello and thanks for your question! We have not changed the ICC profile but may try that in the future. We’ve been really happy with the results with the standard settings.
I just realized I do have the Epson Et-2750, but the ink in it now is not sublimation and I want to do it. I found the compatible sublimation ink for that printer. But what do I do now that the ink in there now is not sublimation?
Hey there! We haven’t switched from regular to sublimation ink in a tank printer, so we can’t say for sure. We’ve heard of cleaning kits for that but haven’t tried them ourselves. We recommend doing a Google/TH-cam search for that specific process or asking in a sublimation group on Facebook. Let us know how it goes!
I’m having trouble with my color correction. My black comes out grey and my pastel color comes out dark. What are your settings? Also I’ve changed my sublimation ink twice thinking it was the ink. Please help🙏🏻 thank you!
Great video ! My question is what if you’re printing something that has white, grey, and black, do you have to get those ink colors or these colors will print the image with those colors I mentioned ?
Fun question. It will print just like a regular inkjet printer in as many colors as your computer can come up with. Black, ok. Grey, ok. Normal printers don't print white though. White is the color of your paper or the color of the sublimation blank. But where your printer needs to print white, it will be left blank. This is true of all normal printers. Hope this helps. Good luck!
My worst experiences with printers is refilling the ink tanks, and tbf, idk kf it's good or not but the previous models such as the epson l382 had a very very easy and unproblomatic ink filling system which is honestly one of the best in my opinion, so does this system have no problems? Cause when the ink spilled a bit i did get a little bit overwhelmed considering the cartridges are refillable

So in fact what you did made no change to the printer, did it ? Cause I'd like to keep my warrenty ... But changing the type of ink is okay, isn't it ?
Putting sub ink in will not keep your warranty valid. There are sublimation specific printers, but we never used. Too expensive. If it helps, we have 3 epson printers with sub ink and they have all worked for 2 years plus
Hi there. We always use a computer. We’d recommend searching whether your particular phone model will work with this printer and be sure to check if you’ll be able to adjust the quality settings so you can get a high quality print.
We’ve heard that you can sublimate on white glitter vinyl, but we haven’t tried it. If you’re just talking about regular printable vinyl, then you don’t need to do the sublimation conversion on the printer. Most printable vinyls we know of will work with inkjet printers (but again - not something we’ve tried).
Just got this for my bday yesterday was so confused thank you so much you guys are a wonderful surprise to all the paint drying videos out there now can you tell me what 5 in one heat press to get 😊
Great question. That’s what was recommended by the manufacturer. It could work the other way (taking the entire seal off) but we just followed what Cosmos Ink recommended. 😉

Hey! We actually tried laser paper with sublimation ink printed designs and were very disappointed with the results. We HIGHLY recommend sublimation paper.
Hey there! We haven’t had any banding issues yet. We recommend checking out the sub groups on Facebook - many there have posted about the issue and gotten some good tips to try.
We do most of our graphic work in Photoshop and mirror that way. There is a way to mirror in the print settings, but we don’t use that. Look through the various drop downs in your print settings to see where it might be. It could be called reverse or something like that.
Those are custom carts that we built using birch plywood and IKEA drawers/sliding shelves. We have a video of the printer cart build (the Cricut Cart was the same process - just wider and taller): th-cam.com/video/TsrLcLEO8Ac/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps!

No worries, that is a cartridge printer for sure. We looked at that option but found too many elements that made an ecotank easier in the long run. Good luck. Happy crafting!
Can you print on cotton t-shirts with this printer and ink?
Hello - great question. No - sublimation doesn’t work on cotton. Sublimation needs polyester to work properly, and the higher the poly count, the more vibrant your design will be. A 65% poly is generally accepted as the lowest you should try to sublimate on, and even that will produce a vintage look.
Thank you so much! That’s helpful.
Do you have any suggestion of a printer, good for 50/50? That’s the one our customers like the most.
Thanks in advance.
th-cam.com/video/UADgs17k22g/w-d-xo.html
This is what it would look like. Time stamp 9:50. Different printer and sublimation ink but same idea. Thank you for watching and asking!
Thank you was a great help. Where did you get you cart the printer is on ?
My print is not transferring onto my shirt. What am I doing wrong?
Will this ink work on an epson eco tank et-4800 ?
Hey! Yes - this ink should work with that printer. 😂
Hi there!!! Video was GREAT!! When you do the ink/paper alignment step. Do you print that on regular computer paper or sublimation paper??
Hi, we just use regular printer / copy paper. No need to waste the good stuff!
I have the Epson surecolor f170
I’m using the Epson sublimation inks but I want to switch to cosmos 🤔 is it posible to switch inks ?
Hi! There *is* a way to do it, though we haven’t tried. The sublimation groups on Facebook have more details on how it can be done, and there are probably a few TH-cam videos on the topic as well. Good luck and happy subbing!
@@JustMightDIY thank you 🙏🏼
Can you put a tumbler in the mug system? Does the Cricut mug press replace having to use a overn or is it just meant for mugs?
Hey! You can do. 20oz tumbler in the Cricut Mug Press, as well as a few other awesome blanks! Below are some videos that you should check out on this topic:
Sublimate a tumbler in the Cricut Mug Press: th-cam.com/video/g2I37B0iNNY/w-d-xo.html
Other blanks we’ve tried in the Mug Press: th-cam.com/video/IVzwTAaI0FY/w-d-xo.html
How tall/wide of tumblers you can use in the Mug Press: th-cam.com/video/dCOUGOtOnCY/w-d-xo.html
The convection oven is honestly easiest for the tall tumblers, but the Mug Press will do the trick for sure!
Can you still print regular stuff on this printer, like a resume??
Only if you plan to sublimate your resume onto something. Otherwise it will appear dull or faded.
So basically this printer will just be dedicated to sublimating. Right?
Absolutely. The eco tank feature is what was really important for us. That and decent print quality. Anything else is extra.
Thank you for this video and responding to my questions.
We appreciate you watching our content and interacting with us!
Lovely--where did you get your printer table with the pullout drawer
Hey there and thanks! We didn't buy the printer cart - we made it! A sheet of plywood, some IKEA Komplement drawers/tray, paint, and a few tools will get you there. Here's the video that shows the build: th-cam.com/video/TsrLcLEO8Ac/w-d-xo.html
Hello sir
What is important Sublimation ink or sublimation printer for printe mug
Hello! You’ll need a printer that’s been converted with sublimation ink, sublimation paper to print out your design on, a sublimation mug and some sort of mug heat press to actually apply the design. Hope this helps!
Hello, thanks for the video. Have you change the print settings ? I heard that the ICC profile had to be changed...
Hello and thanks for your question! We have not changed the ICC profile but may try that in the future. We’ve been really happy with the results with the standard settings.
Was on the fence but if I can get my hands on a eco tank printer in my budget range then gonna give it a try.
Yes!! We totally think you should. Sublimating is so much fun. 😃
is the ink that the printer come with sublimation ink? I filled the printer with the ink it came with, and nothing is transferring after printing
No. The ink that comes with the printer is not for sublimation. You have to buy specific sublimation ink. Hope this helps!
@@JustMightDIY do you know if there's a way to drain or take out the ink I put in there already?
Technically yes - search here on TH-cam for videos on how to do that. We haven’t needed to but know of people who have. Good luck!
@@JustMightDIY I got it! Thank you so much!!!!
Which sublimation paper are you using? Also, is your quality setting on the highest? On our computer, it’s Premium Presentation Paper Matte.
We didn’t change any of the color settings or use a profile…
Great video ! My question is what if you’re printing something that has white, grey, and black, do you have to get those ink colors or these colors will print the image with those colors I mentioned ?
Fun question. It will print just like a regular inkjet printer in as many colors as your computer can come up with. Black, ok. Grey, ok. Normal printers don't print white though. White is the color of your paper or the color of the sublimation blank. But where your printer needs to print white, it will be left blank. This is true of all normal printers. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Does anyone know if the ET 2800 is just ask good as this one?
Hey! Yes - that one should work the same!
@@JustMightDIY thank you!
Can this printer with sublimation ink be used as a regular printer as well?
Unfortunately not. Sub ink prints differently (i.e. less vibrant and sometimes the colors look off before pressing).
Hi there! Thanks for watching. When we’ve topped off the inks, we’ve had no problems at all!
Where is the printer cart from?
Hey there! We didn't buy the printer cart - we made it! A sheet of plywood, some IKEA Komplement drawers/tray, paint, and a few tools will get you there. Here's the video that shows the build: th-cam.com/video/TsrLcLEO8Ac/w-d-xo.html
@@JustMightDIY oh wow! It looks amazing thank you!
@@itzelledesma4358 Thanks!
Why would you not have two bottles filling the tank at the same time?
No reason. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video! Y’all just solidified my purchase lol
Woo hoo! 🎉 Happy subbing!
Hello do you leave the gray empty?
This printer doesn't have a grey tank. Cosmos is coming out with an ink set for the printers that have more than the standard four colors soon.
Hello. What program do you guys use to make the images on? Cricut Design Space or something else? Thank you!
Hey! Thanks for your question. It really depends on the project, but we tend to use Photoshop the most for images.
@@JustMightDIY Thank you!
Is the coasters a sublimination coaster...... do you have a link?
Yes! These are sublimation coasters. Links are in the description. 😉
what is the biggest size paper can this printer print??
It doesn’t go any wider than 8.5” wide, so 8.5”x14”
Can u use your phone for the printer?
Hi there. We always use a computer. We’d recommend searching whether your particular phone model will work with this printer and be sure to check if you’ll be able to adjust the quality settings so you can get a high quality print.
hi can i use this printer for tshirt vinyl? thank upi
@@JustMightDIY thank you. yes after the printable htv vinyl
Is this a wide format printer?
Hello! No - this is not a wide format printer. For that, you’ll want to look at the Epson EcoTank 15000.
Just got this for my bday yesterday was so confused thank you so much you guys are a wonderful surprise to all the paint drying videos out there now can you tell me what 5 in one heat press to get 😊
Hey! Thanks so much for watching! We actually just use the Cricut EasyPresses, so we don’t have a good rec for a 5-in-1 heat press. Happy subbing!
Why make a hole and not take the seal off or cut the seal all the way off?
Great question. That’s what was recommended by the manufacturer. It could work the other way (taking the entire seal off) but we just followed what Cosmos Ink recommended. 😉
What printer cart is that?
Hey there! We didn't buy the printer cart - we made it! A sheet of plywood, some IKEA Komplement drawers/tray, paint, and a few tools will get you there. Here's the video that shows the build: th-cam.com/video/TsrLcLEO8Ac/w-d-xo.html
Is the sublimation paper required? Cricut ink can be drawn on laser paper, so I'm confused why this special paper is necessary?
Hey! We actually tried laser paper with sublimation ink printed designs and were very disappointed with the results. We HIGHLY recommend sublimation paper.
Have you ever had a banding issue with your printer? I have the same one but whenever I try printing photos, lines appear.
Hey there! We haven’t had any banding issues yet. We recommend checking out the sub groups on Facebook - many there have posted about the issue and gotten some good tips to try.
What software should I use for the designs? I have a cricut so I use design space, but I'm sure I'll need something else for my converted epson?
Hey there! We use Photoshop and sometimes Procreate (iPad app). Some people swear by Inkscape. Happy subbing!
This is perfect I just purchased the same printer yesterday 👍🏾
Awesome! It’s such a great little printer.
Do you create the image in cricut and then print from there? Otherwise, how do you mirror the image to print?
We do most of our graphic work in Photoshop and mirror that way. There is a way to mirror in the print settings, but we don’t use that. Look through the various drop downs in your print settings to see where it might be. It could be called reverse or something like that.
What shelving is that behind you that you have the printer and cutting machine on?
Those are custom carts that we built using birch plywood and IKEA drawers/sliding shelves. We have a video of the printer cart build (the Cricut Cart was the same process - just wider and taller): th-cam.com/video/TsrLcLEO8Ac/w-d-xo.html
Hope this helps!
So if i used a different ink brand what can i do to use this brand ? Can i just mix the inks or do i have to clean out my printer ?
Thanks for checking out our video!. We would recommend cleaning it and not mixing brands.
