  • Have you ever suddenly lost your golf swing? Out of nowhere, you just lose you timing? What's even worse is when this happens right before your round.
In this short video, I discuss my "Shoulder to Shoulder" drill that will instantaneously get you right back on track - on plane and in sequence.
About the Single Plane Golf Swing:
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back. This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

This is the best drill I have ever seen. Obviously, I stumbled across this will watching some of your videos............It works and it is so easy to put into you swing with very little thought. It also makes the shot more chrisp and longer including driver..........thanks so much.......

Todd, I'm a former devotee of Stack and Tilt. There is some S&T with SPS. Arms straight, predicable shot flight, hitting the ground in the same spot. I'm just beginning to implement SPS at 61. Probably getting your alignment guide. Judging by how the arms are held out further from body, I guess the drill where I stick a towel under my armpit is useless. Hope you can be at the North Coast Golf Shows in Oaks, PA next year. Lead better and Haney have been there. Keep up the great work.

I like the way you explain things. On a flubbed shot, I will often say, I didn't come through. This shoulder to shoulder approach is a much better way to frame the required movement. I will give this a try.

I found with my single plain swing, my bad shots are either thinned or a miss to the left. I remembed moe saying that he is divot conscious and not ball conscious so I then looked at a spot about 4 inches in front of the ball (rather than the ball) and tried to think about hitting this. It really helped to try and stay down with the shot. Thanks Todd for continuing to putt this content out, I am convinced its the way forward for me.

I've been practicing this drill at home since early November, just to keep the feel of the single plane swing through winter. I even do it with a 15 lb weight held on my chest. Thanks for all the help, Todd, you are very generous with your knowledge. I hope you get to 100K subs in 2021.

“Left shoulder-Right shoulder” has been a go-to swing thought for years. The long version was “Left shoulder to chin-Right shoulder to chin” but the swing happens too quick for the long version! LOL

Thank u. By the way, I really would like to come for a week and get my swing right. How can we get in contact the best way? Since I am from Germany, it needs a little planing.
    Thanks a lot

Sometimes you start your grip with your right hand and sometimes with you left and a couple of times you do it at the same time. What sequence do you recommend for a beginner to grip the club?My biggest problem is not being able to get the club to align with my right arm. Also, what is your first move? Hands first, arms first or shoulder first?

I would go practice today but I'm afraid I've ate to much dinner. Good stuff. Just want to let you know Todd that golf channel and just about every other utube lesson that's out there doesn't make sense anymore. I wanted to say thanks because what a waste of time you know. Single plane easy simple, still long , and straight. Im a carpenter by trade and its like this. Level plumb and square.

    Todd,
Your training club (6I) is very heavy, which I love, is this on purpose and legal weight??? If so, I would love to get irons this heavy, recommendations??? The grip is now no surprise, cause I had it right long ago but changed it cause the right hand looking at you didn’t look as underneath in my swing! Grip felt completely natural to me and not foreign!! Thank You friend!

Todd : Was hitting my driver straight as an arrow for 4 holes then the next 5 holes I completely lost my swing hitting right and left. Just started with the single plane swing it makes a lot of sense to me. Any thoughts on what I was doing wrong and how to recover?

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Stick to Single Plane fundamentals and it will come back. SP Address, tilt, backswing position, lead knee flexed / trail foot down , etc

Getting to left side / transition is pretty natural.
Do you feel that as well?

Cheers for this, I've been looking for "should short golfers use shorter clubs?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Reyuhaffad Underlying Recognition - (do a google search ) ? It is a great one off product for discovering how to revealing an effortless golf swing technique minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cousin got great results with it.
