Its one thing to remember lines as an actress, but its a whole new dimension watching the woman behind the actress delivering a speech like this, with such raw emotion, power, humour and empathy. I have such respect seeing her in this capacity as my only experience of her to date has been watching her as Olivia Benson on SVU.

She is just incredible. The example of rape she gave is eerily identical to what happened to me. Sometimes it takes someone else saying it out loud to really justify what happened to you. That you are not crazy. You didn’t overreact. It wasn’t your fault. It DID happen. You do deserve Justice. Your truth deserves to be heard. Even if the monster and manipulator try to gaslight and deny it. I’m going through the justice system right now trying to get justice and I needed this more than ever. Hearing this example triggered me and made me cry a lot but this will only make me stronger. I am not a victim, I am a survivor. And I deserve justice. She is my hero.

This woman has found a true vocation, and soul connection to the character she plays, the stories she tells, and goes further by advocating and campaigning to make things better. I sincerely hope she keeps doing this, and more, she is making a difference.
