Thank you for the ground beef jerky idea. I use a smoked salt for it, so delicious! I also have a dehydrator built in my oven. I roll the ground beef between 2 sheets of perchament paper and drop it on the cookies drying tray.( without the paper of cause) Regular tray underneath. Bake on 175f for 3.5 hours. Hopefully it's helpful for someone. 😊

What helps me personally when on Lion diet, is to not focus on much of food in general. I keep it very simple. Steaks, ground meat, water and electrolytes. I also only eat one meal a day until I am very full. Then I move on with my day. Keeping it very simple helps me a lot. I don't do jerky etc for any kind of snaking when I go Lion, but that's just me. It also makes grocery shopping for me a piece of cake, no pun attended. Good luck with your 90 days and I wish you the best Neat 😊

@@vince92615I don’t like weighing and tracking my food as I did that for six years prior to going carnivore. But I do feel it’s important to get initial baselines of what is needed daily as far as adequate calories of fat and protein macros to avoid turning fat/skinny. I’m a 5’ 10” 180 lb 57 year old male with a 31” waist, and muscular build. I weight train 3x/wk. My food baselines for my two meals a day are two 12oz ribeyes or one 16oz ribeye and 6oz of 80/20 ground beef. Sometimes I substitute with lamb or whole eggs. If I snack it’s mainly with a hard cheese. That puts me at roughly 2,000 calories with a sufficient amount of fat & protein. I don’t eat pork or chicken or even fish as it’s too lean. I supplement with an omega 3, K2, D3, magnesium, C, and charcoal as I no longer have my gallbladder. Labs seven months in are great.

did you ever have a period of time where you didnt want 1:1 fat to proteins and craved leaner meat? im on the chubby side, wonder if its my body telling me to tone it down so I can lose fat. I still work out 3 times and sprint 3 times a week tho. not sure if i should keep 1:1 or trust my appetite since im not deep carnivore and my appetite might be flawed.@@rjo8500

Amazingly helpful video. Tysm. Do you make jerky from beef slices? Is there much of a difference. Are the macros the same once cooked? {the ground beef jerky}. I’ll have to try lamb. I’m on day 60 and happy with my overall health benefits. I cannot even imagine after one year. I wanted to do a 90 day challenge and I’m so glad I did and can see myself eating this way forever. It’s easy simple. No cravings and I’m absolutely satiated at the end of the day. I used to wake up at night and eat junk food while I was half asleep and be so angry with myself the next day. No more. I’m done with that junk food. I don’t miss veggies, or diet soda. I like La Croix. Do you think it’s ok to drink it? I was keto/ dirty keto for 6 years prior and I ended up making desserts and breads all the time 😢. Love your channel the most by far. Thank you 🙏🏻 😊😊

the lion diet means eating ruminant animals (animals with multiple stomachs, because they can break down grass & feed multiple times) and salt.
carnivore is eating any kinds of meat including chicken and pork and you can use herbs and spices and butter etc to cook it.
you can also google the differences (:

I cut off the fat from my New York Strip roast before cooking and cooked them my air fryer per instructions. OMG...maybe 1/4 of them were edible. Too chewy and had to spit out most of them. Won't try to eat fat again unless it's on the steak. Not impressed! I have a different kind of dehydrator that I used for nuts when I ate plants. But with my luck with fat and other stuff I've tried to prepare, I'm not too enthused about beef jerky. I've never eaten it in my 76 years and it just looks unappetizing. Tell me one good thing about the taste and texture that would entice me to prepare it.

How are you all affording meat these days? Do you have a secret way of getting it affordably? We’ve had to quit eating meat at all for the most part because even commercial meat at Walmart is insanely expensive. It’s been a huge struggle, esp with a family of people with food allergies and sensitivities, I don’t know what to do.

I'm not sure where you live, but I'm in Dallas area, TX and I regularly get meat for around $4/lb (ground beef mostly, and different steaks are usually on sale for $6-7/lb. I noted the prices per pound for these bulk items in this video, (whole brisket was $3.46/lb with lots of fat included!) but I could make one dedicated to pricing if you think that would be helpful. I realize it's so different depending on location and other factors. But in general, I watch fliers every week for all the stores around me, use their rewards systems, (that translates to occasional coupons to use on meat dept. purchases, butter, dairy) and I use ground beef for a lot of things. I currently have a Sam's Club membership, but from what I hear, Costco might be overall better for carnivore foods.

It's cheaper to just buy meat than filling your cart up with all the other plant based foods. I was amazed at how much I am saving on food only eating meat.

I have a wholesale grocer where I can get thin cut ribeye, t-bone, and sirloin for about $5.00/lb. I buy hamburger in bulk. Lamb at Costco is $5.99/lb.

Eating carnivore is really not expensive once you realize how much nonsense leaves your cart as a result. But if youre already struggling to get by on a rather cheap processed diet, thats another issue. Sadly, the times in which an average wage joe could provide for his wife and kids without any struggles have passed a while ago.

wow, you are prepping this all raw meat with bare hands? Best chefs here would advice to always use gloves while working with raw meats, cause it kinda "eats" in skin, but what do I know

    • @polkhigh_33
      @polkhigh_33 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

As long as your hands down have any exceptionally dry or injured spots and you throughly wash them after handling raw meat youre absolutely fine. Cross infections dont happen through the skin barrier, but through the contamination somehow making its way to a mucosa. Like touching other foods with your contaminated hands prior to eating those. Or rubbing your eyes before washing your hands. As a chef, butcher or meat seller youre using gloves for different reasons: 1) Avoiding YOU contaminating the meat and 2) saving time, you cant afford a full handwash routine every single time you touched raw meat.

It would be much easier for you to understand (and you would not have that question) if you were actually listening with intent to learn and asking genuine questions. But for you, and any others out there who are also thinking this way, I'll lay it out:
The point of making videos like mine is to show the TRUTH. That healing can be complicated, and it's up to each of us on an individual level to figure out -- through experimentation like what I'm presenting on my channel -- how to get to their own best health. If you had actually listened to my healing journey video, you'd understand the contrast that I'm experiencing now, along with the timeline of over 12 years that it took to get here. If you were thinking with intent to understand, you'd recognize that "getting one's life back" is subjective, and applies only to that individual person's interpretation of what that means at the time.
So, no: It's not just some random good days that I post. (You'd also know that if you actually watched any of the 10 other videos you've referenced). And, yes: Two things can be true at the same time:
      1. That the Carnivore Diet gave me my life back (via relief from the most debilitating symptoms of chronic IBS, brain fog, addiction and fatigue), and
      2. That I still have things to heal from, and I continue to experiment with different animal-based protocols in order to find the combination that works best for me.
Pavel, if you are truly sick and looking for inspiration and knowledge, then you must first understand that you are ultimately an n=1. No one else can tell you exactly what you need to do, at what times, and for how long you need to do it in order to heal. You must take it upon yourself to seek out and listen to/work with a variety of people and/or practitioners, try what resonates with you, and be willing to dismiss what doesn't. You must understand yourself and the place that you are in your healing journey, and re-learn how to listen to your own body, then make decisions accordingly. The culture we are in has made this incredibly difficult: there's an overabundance of stimulus, addictions and narratives intertwined with money and control at play, and, well....I could go on.
The golden rule is to treat others as you'd like to be treated.
