Love your idea of playing some games in Nevada. Sacramento: Add 3k to the outfield & 17,500 per night will feel like they are playing in the Superbowl. Sacramento can now show MLB that they can support a MLB expansion team. And, fans won't have to pack heat to get to and from the games.
Too bad the A’s and Oakland could never get on the same page years ago, because there were some awesome spots in Oakland that have turned into boring dormitory-looking high rises that would have suited the stadium well, such as the site of what is now Brooklyn Basin. Take a look at that site; would’ve been perfect for a waterfront baseball stadium. Oh well. So long, A’s.
Retorical question: If they put a couple thousand new seats in along the first or base third lines will they outdraw the Marlins who are averaging just over 14,ooo in attendance?
They could build a lot of income-based affordable housing in that area as it has good public transit access. The city could make significant revenue as landlords. You could build housing for 10k+ families with the area available.
The Bay Area as a whole (as is all of American large cities) is terrified of what starts as a great holistic idea and ends up as the projects as they were in the mid-90s when they began to tear them down. Sadly you’re going to have to see a generation of politicians and police serve and retire before you may have ones that have any taste for attempting tenements again. If anyone can figure out a way to make a safe and maintained a large scale low-income housing scenario that doesn’t absolutely crumble within a decade that person would change the world and should win every award and accolade possible.
The Coliseum has a BART station and is very close to the Oakland airport,, so there are a lot of redevelopment scenarios that I can see work. A transit-oriented residential community looks workable, and California definitely needs to build more housing. High-rises are potentially troublesome based on what I suspect exist as far as soils and bedrock are concerned (think about what happened to the Marina District in San Francisco from the Loma Prieta earthquake), along with proximity to airport approaches.
Not if they make it a party. I.e. Wednesday $10 beer and hot dog nights, etc weekday happy hour at the stadium. Fridays - Sunday have kids zone, etc. Its all marketing. Sac has enthusiastic fans.
@@Wharbuckz7 Did the AAA's offer $10 beer and hot dog night at the Oakland Coliseum? How about happy hour or kids zone? It's all marketing? By who? You can't be expecting John Fisher to do anything for the fans unless it lines his pocket.
A’s are going to fill the stadium in sac. Sac is a baseball city since the early 1900’s. Also people are a lot more willing to go when it costs half the price for a ticket food and parking with less crime and nicer people.
Shameful. I hope none of the improvements gets made. Oakland needs to sue the heck out of MLB, like KC, Seattle, Tampa, and Toronto did. NBC Sports Bay Area should dump them. It's time to pull the antitrust exemption.
I am really glad to hear this news because moving to Sacramento makes the most sense for many reasons and it will be a relief to the A's players too in terms of knowing where they will be playing their home games for the next three years.
This closes the "chapter" on the last professional team that was left in Oakland (first the Oakland Seals (NH),, Warriors (NBA), Raiders (NFL), and now the A's (MLB). Soon all Oakland will be associated with is crime and the loss of jobs/businesses.

A three year commitment to Sacramento, then move to Las Vegas. The A's still do not have a signed commitment in Vegas. This could get really sketchy if things blow up in Vegas. Vegas doesn't appear real excited about getting the A's. Looks like a nice ballpark in Sacramento, although it is still minor league. I would think they will figure out a way to add seating, especially if ticket demand is high. Most likely will be a fad early on but once reality sets in and the Sacramento folks realize it is only short term, attendance will drop off. Summers are pretty hot in Sacramento too.
If Oakland stadium allowed recreational drug use and people to attend A's games without getting searched, that would invite thousands more to attend. Consistently
I've been to a Sacramento River Cats game before. It's a nice park. My two questions are: 1. Doesn't the players' union object to MLB playing in an MiLB park period? 2. Where will the River Cats play? This is a concern to me personally as I do want to go to at least one River Cats game over the next few years and I don't want to see them play at "some other stadium", if that's even available.
I heard that the two biggest needs in order to make it acceptable to the players union is additional batting cages, upgraded lighting and MLB team clubhouses. The River Cats and visiting PCL team's dressing rooms area are located in the building beyond center field. They will have to create MLB dressing rooms and clubhouses connected to the dugouts. They will also have to upgrade the lighting to MLB standards, plenty of time to figure that out and construct before 2025. The River Cats are planning on playing at Sutter Health Park during the A's stay. They are coordinating the MLB and MiLB schedules.
@@findawayormakeaway8857 With how many home games baseball teams play, that's gonna be a helluva coordination. Thanks for the info! I'm glad to hear the River Cats will still be at Sutter Health as it looks unlikely I'll be able to make a game this year.
NHL already at 32 teams. SLC is Gary Bettman's Plan B if the Coyotes move out of Arizona. NHL also has Houston and Atlanta (yes, third kick at the can) as very viable expansion franchise locations. Rays either build their new stadium in the Tampa area or move to Orlando. Nashville and SLC are being saved as the two MLB expansion teams to bring the league total to 32. Seattle and Vegas will get the two new NBA teams. Multiple spoiler alerts in just this one post.
Are you kidding me? The city of Oakland's last lease offer was for a $97 million five year lease with MLB expansion conditions Fisher couldn't deliver. A spiteful number as it is exactly the amount the city fell short of for Howard Terminal... And yes, MLB and MiLB noticed the spite. Burning bridges to the MLB and MiLB won't deliver the city a expansion team... Keep in mind the A's are paying less than $2 million in rent annually for the Coliseum presently... Good landlords, the city is the landlord, offer IMPROVEMENTS to the property to get their tenants to sign a new lease... Real Estate 101... Oakland is a BAD landlord...
@@ronclark9724Most of the disarray is John Fishers fault for being cheap and idiotic. Anyone can put two and two together to realize that you can't rely on John Fisher to do something competent. The disrespect with city of Oakland and its loyal fanbase, the bad product on the field, and the complete delusion of media to avoid all criticism of his egregious actions just shows that he's a ultimate disgrace of the industry and shame on MLB for allowing this clown show to happen.
I hope that the A’s stay in Sacramento long-term. The market is definitely large enough for an MLB franchise. This would allow the A’s fanbase to keep the team in the NorCal region - small conciliation, right?
So if they play here for 3 years, how wild would it be by some miracle in, say, 2027 the A's defy all odds and are actually...good..make it to the playoffs...even a World Series...and it all happened in this AAA park that can only seat under 20k?
It is possible. Notice both the Diamondbacks and the Rangers lost over 100 games, cellar dwellers, three years before both teams were in the World Series last year...
Just wait , only night games June, July, AUG. and it will be HOT minus the Oakland Bay area AC... the delta breezes will be good for the fans...and that is a lot of foul territory behind home plate...Super dynamic ticket pricing if Otahni comes to town.$$$$$$ cha-ching
While it is possible, I doubt whether it is probable... We will cross that bridge when we cross it, but I suspect they will play in the minor league park never-the-less... Other teams have played in minor league parks before when relocating to another city... The list is longer than you might imagine... San Francisco Giants, Seattle Pilots, Texas Rangers, Houston Colt 45's, Kansas City A's, Minnesota Twins, Milwaukee Braves, Toronto Blue Jays, and Montreal Expos... MLB HAS BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!
The A's are not making a playoff run anytime soon. As long as Fisher owns the team, the cellar is inevitable. What "high priced" free agent would want to sign with the A's where they will playing all their home games in a minor league park? (Not that Fisher signs high priced free agents, so, that point is mute.)
Hey, we won! We wanted to chase Fischer and the A's out of Oakland and we did it! Time to celebrate out win, with nothing. We have opportunities now to turn Coliseum into a soccer field, we win again! We don't have football, basketball & now no baseball! We won on every front! Let's celebrate! SELL! SELL!
Sacramento is a lot cooler than Vegas we might get some days over 100 during the summer but it's a drier heat than the East, South or Midwest. Unlike Vegas or some other spots in the Central Valley it cools off at night. The delta breeze brings marine air in from the Bay Area almost on schedule around 6:00 PM and makes most summer nights perfect 65-70 degrees.
Finally they'll be playing at a park they do deserve a home in it may be temporary but they do deserve a home until the Vegas stadium is complete. I feel for the Athletics so much history which that very much shaped the community that had it's best days. but it'll never be like it was again.
If the A’s think their attendance will go up they will be sadly disappointed. The same people that go to the games now are the same people that will go to the games in sacramento.
I'd say keep it at 10K for the first year and see if they can even sell out every night. Opening day and barely 2K~. The AAA team will probably play a few hours before or after the A's game. If A's have a night game, the AAA team will have a morning game and vice versa.

@scotttild It's not considered the same. Look up the contract. A big hurdle was the contract and it not being valid in Sacramento. It's not a cross the street.
NBC Sports made some type of concessions. Now it goes to the MLB Players Union for approval
@redwingsfan713 Too bad. I wanted the A's to be forced take Oakland's deal but Fishys buddy came in and saved him.
No chance they sell out games regularly there. Maybe when the Dodgers or Yankees are in town, but that’s it
The A's just need to be defunct to preserve whatever legacy they have left
This makes it abundantly clear that both the league and Fisher never wanted to make Oakland work.
Have you SEEN Oakland lately???
How about the football and basketball team leaving first?
River Cats would play at Sac State baseball stadium
Sacramento should get a stadium plan together just in case Vegas falls through 😂 i still say go play in SLC and move them there when they ballpark that could start construction at anytime just in case Las Vegas falls apart i mean they haven’t even demolished the Tropicana yet
100% true. That is money that can make a big difference in securing her future.
Why would any business want to be in Oakland?
The A's will be relocating to Las Vegas. The Tropicana is being demolished to provide a new ballpark, according to news sources.
The NFL did the sensible thing in getting the Raiders out of that ghetto. MLB is finally waking up.
The A's died with the steroid era with a brief glimmer of hope in the early 2000s. I painted a black armband on all my jerseys years ago.
They need to move now.
yeah, we want to celebrate our WIN and celebrate having nothing! Can't wait to do nothing now!
They'll still average under 10k, the park will look empty more nights than not
Not if they make it a party.
@@justkeepingitreal2024 Kings owner.
They'll have better attendance in Sac than they will in Las Vegas.
A’s are going to fill the stadium in sac. Sac is a baseball city since the early 1900’s. Also people are a lot more willing to go when it costs half the price for a ticket food and parking with less crime and nicer people.
Correction, it’s Sutter Health Park, not Shutter Health. Other than that keep up the good work!
Why would Sacramento support a team that’s leaving it makes no sense to me as well
Shameful. I hope none of the improvements gets made. Oakland needs to sue the heck out of MLB, like KC, Seattle, Tampa, and Toronto did. NBC Sports Bay Area should dump them. It's time to pull the antitrust exemption.
I hope that Oakland pulls a Cleveland. Similarly how they loss the original Browns to Baltimore
Oakland sue? Have you been to the Coliseum? It’s the only thing that sucks more than the product on the field.
@gtoramirez Its Owners neglect. Their owners ran the stadium into the ground.
A Minor league stadium, for a minor league team, a good fit, definitely not going to sell out every game ,😂😂😂😂😂
I am really glad to hear this news because moving to Sacramento makes the most sense for many reasons and it will be a relief to the A's players too in terms of knowing where they will be playing their home games for the next three years.
If Sacramento finds a way to prevent the A’s from moving to Vegas then the A’s are Sacramento’s team in MLB and Vegas rather wants an expansion team
That how OKC got a NBA team. As for Sacramento getting a MLB team it possibly but less likely
Im still a Raiders fan but the A’s I can’t take the pain no more what should I do just quit MLB ? It’s my least favorite anyways
Oakland needs to sell the city to Sacramento
The California Athletics of Sacramento
good plan, and Sacto can support two teams
This closes the "chapter" on the last professional team that was left in Oakland (first the Oakland Seals (NH),, Warriors (NBA), Raiders (NFL), and now the A's (MLB). Soon all Oakland will be associated with is crime and the loss of jobs/businesses.
Does it have light rail transport nearby ?
A few blocks the other side of the bridge. I wouldn't walk around there on a bet at 11 ish PM the way things are now but they'll figure something out I expect
@@hankhillsnrrwurethra cool thanks for the heads up. I’m sure it’s probably wild at night like where I’m from (Brooklyn,NY) the subways when I ride them during the middle of the night are pretty dicey as well. But after a baseball ⚾️ game I wouldn’t be having any business to be hanging out there that late.
@@NuYoRican718Bodies dropping like crazy in Sac, nobody in MLB will mention that little statistic
@@hankhillsnrrwurethra yeah man I bet. The United States overall avgs about 18-20 thousand murders a year. Lots of bodies dropping all across the 50 states.
It’s a super safe area but the lighting is awful.
This announcement begs this question: Will the Athletics be called the Sacramento A's (or maybe the California A's) during their stay there?
Please make a video on the new college basketball crown tournament postseason
MLB needs to shrink by 2 franchises, but of course will never do so because of the players union.
The Mayor of Vegas has said that the A's need to work it out with Oakland.
Sacramento has plenty of space for a stadium.
If Oakland stadium allowed recreational drug use and people to attend A's games without getting searched, that would invite thousands more to attend. Consistently
The Angels aren’t moving out of the 2nd largest tv market in the country. That’s just ridiculous!!!
Your videos are great. I always enjoy them.
I've been to a Sacramento River Cats game before. It's a nice park.
My two questions are:
1. Doesn't the players' union object to MLB playing in an MiLB park period?
2. Where will the River Cats play? This is a concern to me personally as I do want to go to at least one River Cats game over the next few years and I don't want to see them play at "some other stadium", if that's even available.
I told you I do not speak English
It's about time
NHL already at 32 teams.
Man, who can stop John Fisher now if this is the case?
@@ronclark9724 So you're basically saying Fisher is unstoppable at this point outside of outright assassination.
So what happens if just if they make a run and make it to the playoffs or even the World Series your gonna play in a triple A park
(Not that Fisher signs high priced free agents, so, that point is mute.)
will Giants fans in Sacramento support this team? I don't think so
Plenty of A’s fans in Sacramento. We just haven’t had any reason to get excited since the 90s.
UPDATE: This deal has become official.
Hey, we won! We wanted to chase Fischer and the A's out of Oakland and we did it! Time to celebrate
out win, with nothing. We have opportunities now to turn Coliseum into a soccer field, we win again!
We don't have football, basketball & now no baseball! We won on every front! Let's celebrate! SELL! SELL!
Don’t forget no In N Out.
Are they going to be known as the Sacramento A's or the Oakland A's of Sacramento until the next move?
They're going to be known as the Las Vegas A's!!! It sucks!!!
It’s a great idea since Sacramento in the summer is not much different than Vegas temperature wise.
Everyone crying about the “poor players” having to play in a AAA park has never been to the Coliseum. This is a huge upgrade for them.
Did you say “Shutter”?
Finally they'll be playing at a park they do deserve a home in it may be temporary but they do deserve a home until the Vegas stadium is complete. I feel for the Athletics so much history which that very much shaped the community that had it's best days. but it'll never be like it was again.
Sutter, not Shutter!
Sadly, better than Oakland. And no, no way the seats are filled unless the A's commit to Sacto permanently.
If the A’s think their attendance will go up they will be sadly disappointed. The same people that go to the games now are the same people that will go to the games in sacramento.
The Athletics would be wise to make a home in Sacramento be permanent. They love baseball for real over there.
Next year it is up for Sacramento to step up to the plate and hit a home run, or strike out... MLB is watching...
Don’t go to a day game at the River Cats stadium. You literally will burst into flames.
😂 Truth! You've had to live there to know. The idea of the Angels moving there is just silly. That said, it's a beautiful park.
Sutter health park is at 10,000 seats. there going to put bleacher seats on home run hill to add 4000 seats so 14000 seats not 17 or 18
A legitimate video
What's the point of announcing anything anymore if it always gets leaked?
I'd say keep it at 10K for the first year and see if they can even sell out every night. Opening day and barely 2K~. The AAA team will probably play a few hours before or after the A's game. If A's have a night game, the AAA team will have a morning game and vice versa.
What will they go by , the Philadelphia, Kansas City , Oakland, Sacramento A’s of Las Vegas? Their city connect jersey will be a plain white T-shirt with a picture of a moving van
😂
The easiest path would be to call themselves the Sacramento Athletics. There's no reason to include any other city's name.
What’s a worse situation Oakland A’s or Arizona Coyotes hockey team?
I'll pick Zona because it was never meant to be. The fan base was weak since inception.
@@BillyJoeMcallisterOakland situation is a lot worse than Arizona. Say what you want with the Yotes, At least the Coyotes are trying to stay in Arizona the A's didn't even try to commit to Oakland.
@@kingmo8789 To my point; staying in Zona. Since its inception.
Oakland is such a dump, they really don't deserve to have any sports teams...
Hehe hey I love parking lots. Sure they aren't pretty. They are parking lots, that's it. Love your videos man but you always knock giving people a convenient place to park. When I go to a ball game I don't fly over it and look at it. I just want a safe place to park my car and go to a ball game. Sorry completely off topic but someone had to stick up for parking lots here. ;)
Yes. Where are we supposed to tailgate? In the subway stations? In the bus stops?
Yup, agreed. My team is the Brewers, we take our tailgating very seriously here. Also, our public transport is ok in Milwaukee but it's still mostly a commute based city for sure.
I am so glad the The Athletics are finally moving out of Oakland. Trust me they will always suck as a MLB team anywhere they move.
