Mike, you might want to consider using a channel drain at the end of the new concrete apron. You could have the drain run under your driveway to prevent ice buildup in the winter during thaw and freeze cycles. I work for a stormwater drainage manufacturer, so I may be a little biased. :)
Mike, I have been watching there's video's just before you informed us all that you had finished working. I have enjoyed all of your video's. Thank you.
I always enjoy videos that I can learn at the same time. You and other creators have help me understand the proper way of moving dirt and preparing a site. Thanks very much Mike. You are a great teacher.
Good morning to everyone on Morgan’s Mountain. Sure looks great around there Mike. We are all so happy that you have come along this far with your “ I’m going to make a video and post it on TH-cam “ idea. Keep up the good work and videos, you’re doing a fantastic job. Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
Morning Morgans and friends. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I see a poured driveway in the future. Things are really shaping up Mike. Have a day and we'll see ya down the road.....
Hey Mike! You are working harder now that your retired than you ever did at your last job. I too as a newly retired person am finding myself with all kinds of projects & of course new tools to accomplish them. Nice work on the concrete prep. I’ve learned so much from YINZ while watching your channel. Thank y’all! Stay safe Have a day!
Good luck on the last pour. The best part of diy projects is getting the new tools from the savings and keeping them for future jobs. The winter build out will be fun.
I see a strong similarity between your mom’s driveway and the end of you concrete. That’s a lot of water not to expect some wash out, like others have said a drain line at the end would help a great deal. Either way I’m seriously jealous of your setup, you have everything going your way. Really looking nice.
Another great video, before you know it you’ll be sitting on the patio watching your children and grandchildren playing and swimming in Melissa’s pool.
I'm sitting here in my cave on a PC, 100% volume and didn't hear the Bosch beep. My other 1/2 comes in from the kitchen, "What the heck is that noise" ? Anyone reading this that works in a loud environment should be sure to wear Hearing protection ! Love your progress and all the videos.
Mike, I've been doing concrete/carpentry for 28 yrs and I'm curious y u want to let the ground dry out? Water is your best friend when compacting. Also why are u taking material out to put rock in as fill that you have to pay for? Cheers from Canada!😁🔨🇨🇦
Mike I subscribed to the Hauses channel when you introduced them to us and have been enjoying their videos. Thanks. Your place and building look so good. It was good to see Melissa out working in the concrete. Lol. We enjoyed and learned a lot from the video. 👍👍👍❤️
Looking good! I want to be the salesman that gets a percentage of the “ stone purchases” you have made since I’ve been watching!! Mike, you do love your stone!!! Lol
Wow, that's a huge pile of dirt/gravel mix to move down to the renewable processing area. You know Mike, I had no idea of the different styles of concrete until this build. Thank you for opening my eyes. I subscribed to the Hausses channel and have learned a lot! Yet another piece if property to be very proud of by you and your family for many years to come. I should also include that good looking beard you have! After I watched that video from Ford, I thought you'd have heard something by now. Well, good things are worth waiting for! Probably a good thing, you're too busy right now to be out joy riding in your new Bronco anyway. We're having a second day of rain here in Hickory NC. We needed it though. Thanks for this great video, such a nice way to start the day!👍🚜❤
Great job ! Morgan’s …. Looks like massive progress since last year about the time you went west in vacation. Those whiskers are coming along great. Those grandchildren will have something to run their hands through this Christmas ( I guess they will figure out Santa doesn’t travel in a sleigh but on a Kabota).. ha ha. It looks like someone snuck a few tons of limestone back on the hill again. The down side to all of those concrete slabs is there won’t be anymore reason for anymore 2A limestone 😂. Project really looks great and it’s a pleasure watching it grow.
Mike I will tell you if I was to have anything done at my place I would like to have a person like you do it. You pay so much attention to detail. I said the other day I am working on a Kubota side by side rebuilding the front differential and I must say Kubota is very easy to work on it only took me 30 minutes to have that differential on my bench. I changed one on a polaris ranger and and it took me about 3 hours to get it out.
Another notch in the cement gun! I am sorry you aren’t live streaming right NOW! We could be seeing this evolution wrap up!! Marcus from Chesapeake VA.
Good morning Mike! Everything is coming along nicely. I hope to have a nice shop someday, probably a bit smaller because I only have just over 5 acres to work with. Have a great day!
Mike, I have to agree with some of your viewers regarding the Bronco purchase. A vehicle made in Mexico in it's first model year will have some engineering and assembly bugs to get worked out.
As always a good explanation of the how and why. Always a pleasure learning new things Mike. Mike do you have any video before the project started? I think all your subscribers would be amazed at what it looked like before the project got started and now. Be safe and have a great day.
Lay out is extremely important. How will the POOL fit into the layout? You have to move the driveway over - next project now that you have extra stone.
Not on the concrete topic but I had my FIRST BRONCO sighting today on the highway (or anywhere). Gray four door with regular plates on it driving on the interstate just below Louisville, KY.
Probably too late due to the editing lag but if I were you, I’d eliminate that decorative cut out by the door. Assuming it is not for some type of service access, I think it will just lead to water intrusion under the slab and foundation. Assuming it is for aesthetics, you could accomplish the same with a nice size wall hanging basket of flowers or a OWTM flag or cool sign to break things up. Otherwise you have the water issues and have to either mow or maintain it somehow by bringing a mower up on the slab. Just thinking out loud… Everything is coming together nicely.
Mike, A helpful hint, Go cancel the order for the Bronco and go to a professional Barber and get a good straight razor shave ! From the reviews I have been reading , not good! We were thinking of ordering one but we will now hold off. Reading about to many problems. ENJOY your shave!
Hey Mike , Good to see things are coming along finally on your new building !! Couple things , that little spot up by the building between the two outside slabs that you have formed off . Is that going to be a planter or something else ?? If a planter , that could make a mess on your slabs everytime it rains , washing out any thing in that space . And around your down spout on the far corner . We always put a little form or just exspantion joints around the down spout maybe 6 " around it , make it's own little slab , instead of tied into the big slab , that vcd way if you had to do anything with that pipe, you would only have to remove that one section of concrete , instead of cutting up the big slab Something to think about . Cant wait to see the finished project !! BigMike
Hey Mike another great video, just wanted to let you know that I noticed a new Bronco at the local dealer in Gander, NL that is in eastern Canada. Actually I have seen a few of them around, not that I am a Ford man just because I watch your channel. Maybe you will soon be able to shave the Bronco beard, lol. Anyway Mike have a great day and I hope Hunter is doing well. All the best.
The beard is looking good Mike, I started mine at retirement since I was never allowed to grow one as police officer. Now I have grown mine since 2006. LOL Keep it it looks good on you and since now Ford is having to redo leaking tops seems like you may have for awhile anyway.
Great job mike!, glad to see the concrete getting done!, now all you need is a new Bronco in the drive!, I wont mention the pool !, lololo!. Morgans have a day!.
Yeah, that laser level makes it easy for one guy with a rod to set grade over a large area, instead of having one guy operating a theodolite and yelling "Up, up, down a little, up a scootch, down an RCH, on!" to another guy with a rod at EVERY point around the site.
You might want to consider a drain of some type at the end of that slab. You had trouble with ice on the driveway last year. And, I thought some erosion problems along the driveway as well. That hard surface is going to compound your problem I think.
Mike, you might want to consider using a channel drain at the end of the new concrete apron. You could have the drain run under your driveway to prevent ice buildup in the winter during thaw and freeze cycles. I work for a stormwater drainage manufacturer, so I may be a little biased. :)

Beards looking good Mike. You'll be ready for winter hunting in no time.
Your bucket jiggle is great! Good touch!
Hard working Mike. Kudos brother.
Wish I could find someone like you to help with my driveway. It's a lot of work good job Mike.
Nice work Mike, I've really enjoyed following this project bro. Morgan.
Thank you.
Much appreciated!
Plate compactor work is critical for a good slab. Couldn't believe Melissa did not rush out of the house to do it.
🤣🤣🤣
😆
Lol
Love your cautious work with the excavator.

Thanks a lot Rick!
agree channel drain...great job everyone!... thanks 4 video. be kind.
Mike, this is a nice video! Precision work with that large bucket and you are almost finished with concrete!

Bronco Bread looking good!
Morning Morgans and friends. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I see a poured driveway in the future. Things are really shaping up Mike. Have a day and we'll see ya down the road.....
Thank you. Appreciate it
Morning Michael. Great weekend here. Beautiful weather. Hope all is good with you and family
Hey Mike!

Nice work on the concrete prep. I’ve learned so much from YINZ while watching your channel. Thank y’all!

Thank you Jack! I agree completely with you
I'm the same way I retired 2 months ago and with all the stuff going on I don't know how I had time to go too work!
I think the Mrs. would love a little patch of posies there by the latest pour that you "forgot" to fill in. LOL Great jobs! Thanks for sharing.
Watching you on that machine never gets old. If I tried to drag that bucket back level, I’d be halfway to China on the first try.
Good morning Hunter :-) and family and friends :-)
Good morning BadCat! Have a great day!!
@@marcuswhite3628 / Thanks Marcus , you as well :-)
Morning Badcat! Morning Marcus!
Good luck on the last pour. The best part of diy projects is getting the new tools from the savings and keeping them for future jobs. The winter build out will be fun.
Agreed. Thanks Ed
Good video. I use the same exact laser level
Another good video!! We’re getting a light rain just north of you. Hopefully the rain holds off your direction and you were able to pour that slab.
The project has come a long way since last summer when you rented the KX-080 and started removing trees.
Definitely has. Thanks!
Mike, you are pretty slick at operating equipment
Looks great Mike 🇺🇲 The building is coming along
Thanks Thomas
The beard and the building are looking good 👍
Seems like the compactor & the Excavator are paying for themselves!
Lookin Good Mike !! The Beard and The Concrete!! As Well as For The Concret Prep Work!! You Do An Awesome Job!! 👍👊
Thanks Russell
Looking great Mike!🙏🎚🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
Thank you!
Waitin for the time lapse of this entire project.A year in review
That’d be cool

Hey Grizzly Morgan... The Beards looking good!
Nice looking beard you got growing Mike!! 😁. As always, your "Mastery" of the excavator amazes me!! The building project is phenomenal!!
Another great video, before you know it you’ll be sitting on the patio watching your children and grandchildren playing and swimming in Melissa’s pool.
Have a great day!
the Ford beard is coming in nice. building is looking great. have a great day.
Thanks Mark!

@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans what can I say, as old carpenter I'm addicted to these rocks rolling around in my head

Thanks Barry, same to you and your family!
Mike when you pulled up to that camera you were so gentle about pulling back that bucket that was amazing
Thank you Rebecca
Everything’s shaping up very nicely Mike! Love your videos, keep them rolling!
I've reminded him about sleeves from the start ,he seldom installs them ( Melissa said he was stubborn LOL ! )
Mike,
The area you did not put concrete would be an awesome spot for a massive flag pole. To fly the RED WHITE AND BLUE
Your Bronco beard is lookin good😎

Excellent questions. Mike is just a tad ocd about dirt and rock. Should have got the grade right before building the barn. First things first.
Motor Mike moves more dirt from pointA to B and then B to point C and then repeat that several more times. I believe he just likes digging.
Good morning from Upstate South Carolina. The man can even spread stone well with an excavator. Nice work Mike. Have a productive day.
Thanks Tommy
If you haven't already poured the concrete, a 2 inch pipe is cheap insurance to place under the slab and up into your flower bed.
Bosch is a bad ass brand you can't go wrong with it
Beard is coming in great 👍!
Really enjoyed this one Mike. Thanks.
Thanks William
Keep the beard after the Bronco arrives. The Grizzly Adam's look is fitting for the channel ; ) who is with me?
Maybe it's a question for both the women viewers
