4 members of this group call them self Quadratum and doing instrumental covers. Jill on violin makes mostly the guitar and sometimes she makes the synth parts... have the CD and it awesome! The sheet music for Revadac is the sheet music for Cadaver played in reverse. Only the drums and lyrics are different, although the vocal melody is reversed. You got it right about the lyrics not matching what she's saying in some parts, those parts do line up in the reverse. As someone mentioned, Cadaver is about the death of a loved one and Revadac is about using the diamond made from that person's ashes to bring them back.
Someone in another comment linked the inverted version... watch it. You'll understand it better afterwards. It will sound almost exactly the same except for the lyrics and drums. Even if you can't understand Japanese, you'll be able to tell that the lyrics are backwards in the inverted version. If you have the means to, play both this original version and the inverted one next to each other simultaneously. It's mind blowing.
I watched that link you mentioned and I definitely understand it better. I also did exactly what you mentioned (playing both) and my mind was totally blown. Completely genius song!
Lyrics and some drum fills are not backwards.
But vocal melody lines are backwards, lyrics are related in between first song and second song.
Guitars, Bass, and violin parts are totally backwards.(solos are backwards also)

Something that I love about Japanese Rock/Metal bands, they not afraid to try the "out of the box" things with the bands, instruments and the music. What helps is Japan is educating/training superb musicians. It's uncommon for several members of any band to have started playing a musical instrument at 3 yo. It helps that they are professional performers and always show up sober.

No worries, and I agree with you! That's one of the reasons why I love progressive metal/rock as a genre. Definitely not afraid to go out of the box and try new things!

While I agree totally with Shiren being a genius, I have to quibble a bit here. Shiren and FUKI are the CO-founders of Ankimo (aka Unlucky Morpheus) There might still be a band with Shiren called Unlucky Morpheus, but without Fuki - IT WOULD NOT BE THE SAME! Just My Humble Opinion 😀
@@Patrick_H. I agree. I was going to comment a similar reply to MRH. I wonder why so many new fans assume that Shiren is the one and only genius of Ankimo when it is pretty well established in interviews that Fuki is the co-founder along with Shiren. And, if anyone wants to get super technical, it was originally Fuki who convinced Shiren to start the band. But either way, starting a band together was an idea that they had talked about for a few years as friends. 🤘

And for the 4 newer members to name their side project Quadratum (a World in Kingdom Hearts) shows me that they are cut from the same cloth as Fuki and Shiren.

I'd believe it! Though to be honest, I believe seeing it live as the first time hearing it wouldn't have been as impactful to me, since it was the portion of the video where the title came on screen and then flipped that was what immediately know what was about to happen. Once I knew that was the case, I watched it Live and yes, definitely more amazing!
Since you mentioned it, here is my personal link to The Tower of the Blood, which I edited to add the missing Jill violin solo Intro back into the song. Yup, except for the lyrics, Revadac's music is actually Cadaver played backwards. And this is the reason why I think the Grammys are a joke. This song should have been Song of the Year when it was released in 2018.

The song came about due to the lead guitarist, Shiren, read in a newspaper about a company in Switzerland, that was turning peoples askes in to diamonds, which is what Cadaver is about. Revadac is about some the want to turn the diamond of someone they cared about back in to a person.
So the whole song is about the reverse of the other, not only meaning, but musicly.

Some comments. Only the melody and melody are reversed. The song itself is arranged as a separate piece. The lyrics are also different. The first song as a whole is sung about a cause of sadness and wanting to turn back time. Only the melody is inverted in the next song that responds to it. The video is played backwards, but the music is not. I believe the keyboard instruments are being played by the drummer guy. In any case, it's an experimental progressive work that didn't exist in the past.

For the first half "Cadaber", the second half "Rebadac" is played in reverse.
However, the guitar, bass, and violin are actually playing backwards.
The drums are played in sync with the reverse playback performance, so I changed them on my own.
As for the lyrics, here the "content of the story" is played in reverse.
the actual lyrics are
"Human body → Ashes → Jewel"
"Jewel → Ashes → Human Body"
It's like.
In other words, this song is not just played in reverse, but it can be said that "the details are further brushed up to play in reverse".

OK, here's where I blow your mind. Cadaver is sung from the perspective of a person recently dead, reacting to their new existence. Revadac is sung from the person experiencing a Re-birth - the lyrics are different. But the Melody, and all of the instrumental leads are played in reverse! There are live recordings of the band performing the song in it's entirety. There is even a video version where they show the sheet music for the melody and lead lines - running left to right on the first half and right to left (backwards) for Revadac. UM was formed in 2008 as a cover band for anime and video game songs. They have grown to the 'Force to be Reckoned With' they are now in the intervening years. They added Jill on violin in 2016. If you want to hear some violin shredding, UM has a side project of 4 members called Quadratum that features Jill doing covers of classic Rock and Metal songs. Someone mentioned it in a comment a long time ago, so it was on my list. I'm a HUGE Dream Theater fan, to the point my drum set is modeled after Portnoy's. I've wanted to react to it for a while, but didn't want my first taste to be a song a know (and play) well. Once UM won the 1st poll, I knew exactly what the next song of theirs would be, and I filled the empty spot in my schedule immediately! (That probably gives away which one I did. LOL)

This one is pure genius!
Apparently they heard of a place that cremates people and turns their ashes into diamonds. And so the first half of the song the Cadaver is about a person being turned into a diamond and the second half Revedac is about using magic to reincarnate the person from a diamond back into a living person. At least that is what I have heard of the lyric. The song os an attempt to write a song then do it backwards but the backwards is not a 100%, it is more like writing music based on reversing the chords and melody not completely new song not perfect reversal either.
They classify themselves as Technical Speed Metal. And there is heavy Neoclassical in this I find it very reminiscent of Verdi.
Check this out Anne Sophie Muter, doing Antonio Vivaldi 4 Seasons L'estat (Summer) presto. She is a violinist and this is a Baroque piece that if it were written today it would be a metal song.

I was struck by the song and its visual beauty.
The band makes full use of traditional Japanese musical instruments and is well known to avid music fans,

Everything is reversed even vocal melody except the lyrics (although the meaning of them is the opposite) and the drums (since you can't really reverse drums and have the song still make sense with the drum fills and everything), the rest is all played in reverse, the sheet music is exactly the same.
They released both these songs separatly as an EP and nobody actually noticed until they released this music video and another version with the sheet music. You can find some youtube videos reversing the song and it sounds like the other song (with the exception of the lyrics and drums ofc)

The lead guitarist of Unlucky Morpheus, playing the headless red guitar, also used to be the lead guitarist of Yousei Teikoku. So when you do Astral Dogma... that's him playing lead.
