- These Trees Show You Where To Find Gold
Finding gold is not easy. There are a lot of creeks that have gold right across the world, however, even on those rivers and streams gold can be tricky to find.
That's because for over 170 years since the gold rush, these goldfields have been sluiced, panned, dredged and creviced again and again. Often leaving us to wait until big floods replenish the gold.
But if your are willing to pay attention to the creek and take your time in observing it, you will sometimes spot places people miss.

Fern, my white Boxer dog, is an accredited service dog under the 1992 DD act. She holds special access rights to be allowed to enter places most dogs cannot. This includes National Parks such as Chiltern Mt Piolet NP where Reedy Creek is located. Unless your dog is an accredited service animal they are not allowed to enter NP.
Check your local regulations, as each state and territory is different, before you travel into or though NP with your dog. Here is the Parks Victoria website for those of you wishing to read up on Victoria's laws 👉 www.parks.vic.gov.au/things-t...
Back on the 1970s on the turon we used to pan gold using frying pans out of root balls of large fallen trees
I've said it once, and I'll say it again.... some network/streaming platform needs to get you a show. You always keep it new and educational.
Love how you look at creeks differently. I have started doing that lately and have found gold in strange places. Maybe not strange but not in the normal spots. Not always great but some.
That is awesome!
Great day out there fam. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Yeah, @3:00” Tightly packed gravels is the best indicator for heavies … and AU!
The gold in my creek is hiding in the next state over 😂😂
At least you know where it is
You had some gorgeous little garnets in there as well. I was annoyed on your behalf that you can't see them. ❤
Man that looks like a great time for a shop vac
Not allowed. Manual hand tools only in Victoria. You can use powered pumps for water when sluicing but that's it!
I started looking for black sands , moved to tree roots, moved to hard rock, now I'm into tertiary channels, no real signs except geology. Gold is definitely where you find it but it could be where nobody's been! Love the hunt not the chase. Well done vid my southern hemispherical brother. You content is relevant even in sw emeyhricuh lol
If I ever win that Lottery. I'm coming to Australia to treat you and Gadzee to one heck of an outing. I have learned so much from your experience in Prospecting.

Just got into gold panning foud 3oz of gold on my creek so far it used to be an old gold mind it shut down in 1982
We don't believe you unless you give the EXACT GPS COORDINATES
@@danielhughes9556 I'll just show a pic of it all haha
That's insane
@@danielhughes9556 😂
Hes been panning everyday since 1983@@JohnAnderson-ze2hu
So much fun to watch.
Great video, I also prospecting in heavily worked public area. I am getting more into finding those micro spots of good gold and not trying to max out working hard all day. Great advice at the end !
🥰Tree roots are your friend 🥰
That was a very satisfying crack and wanted it to go deeper and longer. Cool surprise episode. Put a package in the mail for you today. So, let’s see if this one makes it. 🤞
I was hoping it would.run up the bank. But I only got 2 feet
Thank you Professor Chris! Loved the lesson!
Ooh that was cool and the pancake pan looks to be doing a real good job
Hey at the very least they are fun
I noticed! 🐎 Tail Horse - seems to be a indicator 😮 very deep roots , able to break Asphalt 😊 check it out if you see it on the edge of your creek - Greetings from Vancouver Island.
hello friends nice video. Warm greetings from Indonesian gold miners👍🔔🙏⛏️
This TH-cam page is so good ⛏️😎👌🙌⭐️
Aaand this is why we respect you above the others, Chris!
Keep on educating us and being genuine!
Like a naughty teacher
My second watch.
Two nights in a row. It's been in the back of my brain all day (I have loads of time to think at work).
Here's why you've got as many loyal subs* as you've got:
You teach without pretentiousness - "My gold in this area isn't big. I'm going to show you how to find flour, old, nuggets*, small flakes in every scenario in all places all over the world."
Keep being you, Chris! Sir Humble from The House of Humility!
Always great content on this channel! Thanks Chris..
like your positivity mate! Keep at it!
Thank you for all that you do... I look forward to soaking in some of you're wisdom each time you post. Cheers
Great videos as always 👌 keep it up
That is a pretty nice little take home pay for somewhere you stopped to have a look at.... on the way home. Very cool, well spotted
Awesome content!
Thanks Chris!
This is the first video I have seen with this lesson. Thank you very much.
Aside from high velocity water, there's also very intense heat that creates that, which almost every single case results in having gold in the very same area!
That's cool I like learning.
Great video!
Fantastic, Have a wonderful day!
Great information again. Thank you
❤it 😊
The specialist observations about deposition, so ace, Chris! This is the third I've seen lately that has looked into the value of finding a long root on a creek, source, ey, saucy, long-rooted straggling struggler trees, on gold-bearing bedrock, where a big horizontal root leads to that crack where the last of the moisture reservoirs, hence where the gold and other heavies settle, that get frequently rewashed, so it's not a flood-only deposit, but is a locus of long-term natural classification. I thought it's the big old regrowth stump upwards, nup, yes, on finding surface diggings, the trees got used for suring underground, on the creek itself, it's the long root you're after! (Pete of Pete's Gold Adventures was one of the other long roots lodes observations, and at Gary's house of OzDetecting, a garden shrub 2 metres tall with 30 metre tap root through his drainage pipe, causing flooding about his yard, the f***er was a monster vegetable anaconda. Related that to Pete's observation per long roots. Yes, I'll make sensible remarks, plus throw in a laugh grenade. C ya!
Thanks for the lesson dude
No problem!
Very interesting pan 🤔
Excellent
Chris, you certainly was lucky to spot that layered area! You could definitely see that it was deposited many years ago and was basically untouched ground. Although it was a small area of a gold payout, those were some nice sized pieces. Plus, did you keep that clear, good sized garnet that was in your pan? It was beautiful 🤩
Thank you for always sharing your knowledge and explaining how to gold prospect. I pray that you find a massive amount of gold! Blessings from Alabama ❤️
Nice new pan with the coarse gold.
Way cool Have fun and find gold.
Liked, shared and commented. Many own the blue bowl. But ur now slinging the blue plate. Sweet.🤴🏻🍻🗽 11:02
Or is it red?😂
I keep wondering how it will do as a BBQ plate? 😅
Gee you can have a hell of a lot of fun just crevicing. Nice take Chris and a good find😁👍👍
You got that right!
Nice job Chris! Make some paydirt with that!
Nice work, I’m hoping to find some good sized gold in one of the buckets I bought home from a creek, I tested a few spots, highbanked the high spec spot and grabbed around 30litres in buckets from the low spec but good sized gold spots, I’ll find out over the next coupla days keep up the good work Chris 🇦🇺👍
Just come to my creek and point to the good spot eh 🤗
Always great content. You are the master in more ways than many. Keep it up…..!!!

Looks pretty good to me mate great find
Thanks 👍
FIRST OFF!!! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge as well as giving a fabulous in depth description of what to look for when the gold is hiding. I get all your videos here in Florida, unfortunately I have to travel 7 hours before I am in any gold bearing land. I am absolutely brand new at this, let me say that first, it seems to me that when you use your flat pan with a large pile of hard dirt dried together that without thoroughly, I would say grinding down with your hand, for lack of a better term, your gold loss would be high. Also do you design equipment at all? 😊
Reedy creek nuggets!! OMG!!
We use nuggets loosely
@@VoGusProspecting Loose nuggets!!! OMG !!!
nice find in an area that gets pounded
Smashed, pounded
@@VoGusProspecting hmm, sounds like an ex girlfriend.
😎👍
Just never know what you find✨✨✨✨
I think you should have used a real pan or paned into a chatch pan to check how much you lost from the pancake pan. You usely check and recheck. Blessings
I thought the title said crack! Good work dude! Greetings from Lehigh Acres, Florida, USA by way of the Great Smoky Mountains, North Carolina where my son and I prospect.
The pan idea is nice. But since you had material on the out side edges and yet didn't show anything out there I can assume it was lost. I would look at getting one if it was concave, not by much mind you, may be 165' instead of the flat 180' I see there. Good tip today though. Thanks for the all the hard work as always MUH-MAN!
2:45 how it starts 2:58 during the act.. annnnnd finished 3:00 three of four times. Lol 😆 🤣
15 seconds, that's above average
I like the look of your custom round pan Chris, but i do wonder if it was overloaded in that video
This was about right. You can see how the dirt spreads in real life a lot better than on film. I'd say it's border line.
I’m having a serious case of de ja vous here…. I feel
Like I’ve seen this before and commented about that root and the land farther away from the creek so I looked back in your vids and can’t find it…. Please tell me I’m not losing my mind and that I’ve seen you work this place before so I know I’m not crazy….. thanks Chris for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
You have lost the mind my friend
LIESSSSSS I FOUND IT 🤩 it was a SHORT you posted on may 2nd of this year…. So glad I found it you almost had me convinced😂😂😂 I forgot you rarely respond to comments on shorts or community posts… oh man what a relief 😅 it’s scary to be getting older and thinking your mind is going…. Seriously that would be hard to deal with.
One pan wow
I just got my camera next up prospecting XD one day soon I hope! I want to get 2 pieces on my first day one for me and one for my friend I love the content
Nice gold Chris! Where can we buy the flat pan?
Should be ready by next week.
@@VoGusProspecting sweet I'll be down for one🤙
3:40 did anyone else see that nose and face poking out of the crevice? Just me lol
Turns out the face piece was hard to get out
hi chris mate...just athought bro...
you might want to consider selling the downloadable 3d print files for your flat pan, through your shop...
does away with shipping costs for you...
Where does one purchase the shirt you're wearing?
Not sure that flat pan would be good for hydrafobic material?
Meh, at this level it doesn't matter. But on a larger scale yeah
You pan design is fucking fantastic!! I want one!!!!!
Bro I swear I was on a plane from Brisbane to Darwin last Tuesday with you but I wasn’t 100% sure.
Odd how on the other side of the world that Gray Clay with quartz hard pack is the sweet stuff I look for in North Carolina. How can I purchase one of those Beard combs?
i dont know what it is but the flat pan just erks me lol
Lol. I like it 👌
@@VoGusProspecting I’d for sure loose every thing shinny lol
I wanna go to reedy creek : (
What is that blue pan called?
awesome video.. but i do not like the new youtube layout for pcs.. :)
1st one here yee yee from America 🇺🇸 🤘🤙
I think you need to go back with a friend ! ! 👍
Nah, it's all done bro
When are you going to sell the circle pans?
Soon, probably next week
^5!
I wouldn't trust such a flat pan with such good deposit. I feel a bit skeptical with the gold having enough time to sink before the dirt go overboard...
I'm not worried. I've done the testing.
💙💛
Another grouse episode. Found a WW1 Australian Naval Officers button this morning, when uniforms were still made in London.
How far thru on the 100 bucket challenge are you?
About 55
You need to get yourself a battery powered rotary hammer drill as they can be used as a jack hammer chisel.
Soo, qtr bucket?
Every scoop counts. Don’t leave me counting for you😂
Center, drop off zones and push ups. Inside bend=smashed😂
Yeah, and they all walk past the nugs
I just can't see how that flat gold pan works! At least no very well! You have to be losing gold when you fill it so I'll and then shake the snot out of it under water. Just my opinion, everybody else do what you want.
I'm convinced you're losing most of the fine gold in that pan. Clay-rich with too much variation in particle size and without pre wetting the material, it's pretty much a guarantee. You could use a 5 gallon bucket and classifier set to fix this. Sift the material, wash off any rocks into the bucket (save the rocks to inspect with a metal detector later), add extra water with dish soap (or jet dry) to break water tension, break up the dirt in the bucket and stratify by vigorously mixing and shaking the bucket. Then you can scoop layers of dirt out of the bucket and discard it, and only pan the bottom 6 - 8 inches.
You seriously felt the need to come over here and sh!t on Chris’s channel? Your family must love you during Christmas… 🙄
You should of crushed some of the quartz
Not the right area for that brother. I'm doing that in another area tbough
Hi Chris, I love when you do the exploring videos.
It reminded me of a TH-cam short I saw (th-cam.com/users/shortsHKdjIFjYZ40) and I was wondering if you could do some more exploring to see if you could find evidence of these types of river deviations 🤔🙂
Now That gave me a Woody Bog(¡)us !! I really pissed myself off today...about $600 of gold I got from my miller table in a few days of playing with it & had to go work on my car when a friend came over today...when I went to clean up I turned the tray over & FORGOT TO TAKE OFF THE 2 VIALS...the problem? Some I found mercury in, now it's contaminated! I'm waiting to watch how You reclaim it with Almagum, maybe....I'll give my idea a try & watch your way too.
You just need a basic retort. Google is your friend.
@VoGusProspecting thanks Chris, my dad a welder made a mercury still but when I got hurt in the '90s he gave it to his friend another prospector...I can use a raw potato SAFELY. What I was thinking 🤔 is if I use my rock tumbler to almagum because just shaking my concentrates doesn't collect all the gold when I use water with it...when I try only sands & gold I'll let you know how it works out. I'm still finding strange meteorites to send in my package to you..
Your winter is my summer & they'll give you something cool to investigate.
@@James-fi6rvthere's nothing particularly safe about burning mercury unless you have a retort. Furthermore, Mercury is expensive and why burn it off into the atmosphere if you can reclaim and reuse it? It's because of people's misuse that has gotten it banned in most places.
@mountainmanxyz I Don't burn it off into the atmosphere man, in a raw potato wrapped in foil with wire turns the potato yellow and I mash it to reclaim the mercury to pan back out.!. 😋 I've had a couple pounds of mercury for a few decades & even though a pound sucked into my body when I was a kid 50 years ago I've found that it oxidizes Aluminum that this environment let's free that contributed to Alzheimers...how can I be crazy when your comments show up on my Gmail say 'Jesus Christ replied to your comment ' ??¿¿!!!
@mountainmanxyz I just got 400mL Nitric acid from my chemistry ⚗️ friend from microprospecting site, now I can dissolve Hg & the acid turned into H2O2 & oxygen & I can dump the mercury into another container & reconstitute it with hydrochloride later...either way, yours or my 2 it's safe
I like "The Pancake Pan" better.
That's its name now. This was filmed a while ago
You keep showing us pictures of that flat gold pan but won’t tell us how to find them!
They are mine, they will be on my website this weekend. Www.theoldmouldy.com.au
How the hell has this got 3000 views but only 700 likes. Are people becoming so freaking lazy that they can’t move their thumb one inch to the left ?
Yeah look. I feel.like my channel gets limited sometimes.
I love all you do Chris, but the background music in the beginning is as loud as your voice and SUPER annoying and blo0dy awful.. like you're on hold on the phone with Telstra.
It repeats and repeats and does not fit your vibe at all.
The music in the final bit was much better.. but normally I would have bailed early on because my neuroD brain can only take so much.
If you can survive Telstra you'll survive this. Haha
@@VoGusProspecting Haha 😆, paid!Telstra overlords.
