    I had this issue with mine. It's not always wheel valves, it can be air not completely draining due to obstruction in the air line between the wheel valve and quick release valve. It ended up being one obstruction in my rear hub and a kinked hose in the front of mine. Having the higher PSI HWY setting exacerbated this problem.

      Yes that can be very true. I know my truck too well so this problem was something I was keeping an eye on and it was time to fix it...

      @@SeanFillner Of course! I added the comment more for others. We know our trucks quirks. They get cranky. 🤣

    Another great video! I drove my truck the other day and my CTIS started acting up after pushing the cross country button. I have the 150psi transducer installed and that was the first time I have pushed any of the settings since the install. Headed over to the fb page to do some reading.

    Good stuff! So glad I don't have any issues with CTIS after I tightened the lines to the axle. Occasionally, I will get all the lights flashing... after about 15 minutes it goes through a check and resets. I have rebuilt the wheel valves before... they are so expensive these days!!! Thanks for showing this... very helpful!

    side note...... for future reference..... there is just enough failures to warrant NOT plugging/unplugging the ctis while powered up (or jumping batteries with it plugged in). Might never be a problem for someone..... till it is that one time and you brick it. Not saying its a "fact".... only that it seems tied to just enough failures to make you go hmmmmmmmmm.

      Good point. I have spare ctis ecus so I was not worried and the wrecker one I have seems to be more robust.

    Cool rig did you think to go through the Army supplies, some parts may not be available to just anyone, the reason people like you to fail because their jealous someone else is having a better life than them, glad you sorted the problem, hope you get back out, on the trails, all the best to yous and your loved ones

      @@SeanFillner Nothing for five solid lights. From what I see on the Internet it may be a bad controller? What part did you replace after welding on your chassis? And did that affect the lights on the controller at all?

    Interesting, for about 5 years one of the reasons I've kept myself from buying one of these to use as an occasional truck to tow my car and also just for fun and camping was the issue of investing into a rig like this and not being able to find parts. Then I figured out that most all of thr drive train is common medium deisel components and parts are plentiful if you can figure out the civilian part number. So with that in mind, these vehicle were back on my radar. Now I randomly find this video and heard a lot how the CTIS is a great system to have when it works. I've seen quiet a few rebuild kits for the CTIS system available but you're saying these aren't actually readily available? I guess I could always just cap the system off but certainly wanted to keep it active. Man I want one of these things just scared of getting into it and having issues finding simple parts to keep it going years to come. Imagine a small simple part keeping a relatively expensive rig with a lot of time invested from running.

      We love Abel! One of the best investments we have ever made. I have found the small things that keep the truck from running don't really exist like I thought they did. Everything on the truck is redundant to the point that a system may not work but the truck can still get you back to safety. There are work arounds to everything and you will soon find that out if you are on the facebook page I mentioned.... If you dig back through this series or the Adventures with Abel series you will only find one thing that happened and we still made it home : A failed waterpump seal, fixed in 4 hours.... These trucks are a testament to proper and good maintenance and they will take great care of you.

      @@SeanFillner so what you're saying is... stop being a wuss and just buy one already lol. Also I'm not sure what constitutes "expensive" for the wheel valves but Midwest (MME) has them for about $100 a piece as well as full rebuild kits for like 280. If a set last a real long time I don't think that's to much but again I have no idea what is a reasonable price.

      @@DDRDK like every type of business there are good guys and bad guys out there when doing said business. I am sure if you get one of these trucks you will quickly find out who those people are.

      @SeanFillner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean the ctis controller? Is there a unit I can purchase that is plug and play? Last time I checked one had to buy all these bits and pieces and assemble/program the unit. I don't want to do that.
