Human beings are not THE ONLY "consciousness". There are many other species and they have their own consciousness which we have REALLY, no idea about. Oh yes, scientific studies have shown, I just don't always believe scientific studies by humans because it's coming from our point of view always, and we are flawed, and we are so into our club of humans, everything created by humans. I don't believe that we are the end all, be all, on this planet, And frankly, I wish that we would stop thinking that the world is all about us. All our thoughts and deductions are coming from out brains and our prospective. It's just not accurate always coming from humans. What if all the so called intelligence was coming from raccoons, would we think that they knew it all, and their word was totally the truth?? And there are other eardrums on this planet besides humans, so they can hear that sound too. I think that the human world is so obsessed with the human world, and it is so selfish and self absorbed, that we will never get the true essence of being here because we are so convinced that it's all about us. And that kind of thinking is ruining the health of this beautiful planet...everything is here on this planet for us to exploit for our consumption, pleasure, comfort, entertainment, and we do that so well. What if you were a raccoon or any other animal, you might be able to see how homo sapiens are monopolizing this planet with their stuff and that their thinking is king of all thoughts. It's not true! There are other species eyes, ears, and thoughts from other life forms. The reverence of all lives is what we need to be so aware of.... Thank you for mentioning the smallness of humans on this planet, we should always remember that. I think humans will be at their highest consciousness when they realize at the fullest measure, that we are part of this universe, along with many others, that we are sharing the planet with....our planet would be in much better shape if we were more objective about our "high intelligence". We have a hard time accepting our own species diversity, so of course, we have an even harder time being conscious to the other life forms on this planet.
Well, I haven't been confused in a while. He's saying that life creates consciousness, but my understanding is that life appears within consciousness. So if all appearances are no-thing merely appearing to be something...something finite and fleeting...and we give everything all the meaning that it has, which is only ever a thought, how meaningful is any of this, really? I mean...it's amazing, for sure, but what if it's all just the ego thought system distracting us from the Truth of our nonexistence? Sometimes when he takes a sip of water mid-sentence, it feels like a subconscious tell...like when someone playing poker is bluffing.
Our senses do a good job of convincing us of our individuality (which is a misused word. Individual means indivisible.) Infinity is indivisible. This land of duality can't be reality. This Universe is not a spiritual place. It's the ego's make-believe dream of separation. Only God is. Nothing here is made in God's image. Perhaps nothing here has any value at all.
Another way to summarize this: "We are God's nerve endings." (God experiencing It's own creation.) AND, humans aren't the ONLY consciousness on this planet. MANY forms of consciousness exist here & we all witness it together.
I wonder if/ how any other conscious beings would know they were made of consciousness. Ramana Maharshi said a cow on the grounds he lived on was awakened. So who knows?
@mejohn101 yeah I believe him! We really have NO idea how an animal awakes. But I believe it certainly happens/is happening. They definitely plug into the Morphogenetic field (Sheldrake's 100th So who knows what downloads they get

For all we know consciousness evolved as a simple feedback loop. I suspect AI is the future with regard to consciousness and certainly intelligence in this part of the universe.
