Love how pragmatic you are. One of my favorite non duality guys.

I wouldn't call him a non dual guy or teacher. He doesn't use this term like Rupert uses.

@@WillyMouna I guess strictly speaking you're right, but I consider non duality to encompass any teaching that stems from eastern spirituality. He comes from a Zen background but uses his own style, so I can't call him a Zen teacher exactly. Non duality is just a catchall term for this modern way of teaching liberation.

Often the personal stuff can feel like an endless garbage pile and in some spiritual circles is deemed a mistake, a type of trap to be avoided.
Personally I have found that my spiritual life is not seperate from this garbage. Sorting it and integrating it is a liberating process which induces wakefulness in living.

I've been meditating for 16 years. Spent years on retreats in Asia. The result? I am not free of suffering. The chronic pain is not better. And I am still nowhere close to accepting the chronic pain. I guess I failed.

If you were doomed to feel chronic pain for the rest of eternity the nature of liberation wouldnt change one bit. The problem is that you're trying to _win_ at the game of liberation rather than just _being_ the liberation and letting "yourself" lose. So you're leaving a great deal of the ego unchecked and unnoticed in order to keep this narrative of failure alive. There is no goal here, your goal is the whole issue and exactly what you're being told to be more aware of so it doesnt magnetically pull you back into the drama of self

Chronic pain can indicate Trauma in your body. Peter Levine is a somatic master who created a body mind therapy called somatic experiencing.
While your foundation in a mediation practice will be useful this type of healing will require deeper courage and commitment.

Maybe it took you those 16 years to show how hard you’ve been fighting it, ‘in the name of liberation’

    • @ItCouldBeAnything.

Katerina, have you considered that maybe, just maybe, you are as close to accepting that pain as you always have been and always will be? Have you considered that you are always only one movement of consciousness away from that acceptance? My root teacher, Thich Naht Hanh, might say, “There is no way to acceptance - acceptance is the way.” I hope this may bring some insight or offer a liberating perspective. Peace and well being to you.
      With love,
A fellow friend on the path.

@@Burno-lj8sd get yourself in a calm place with some nature, like a garden. And ask your mind deeply and profoundly "where is this beast?" Or "what is it that is making me sad?" Ask it with the most sincere curiosity, maybe you will that this is not you, that you can watch what is making you sad and work with it from a place of calmness and presence. Hope it helps, it certainly helped me a lot of times.
