MIX & MATCH is a new badminton format introduced by Peter Gade, Lee Chong Wei, Taufik Hidayat, Lin Dan and Lee Yong Dae. The format employs a "flight" system which allows a team of 6 players to switch freely between points.

Do you guys notice, the playstyles of this 'mixNmatch' events are supposed to be tactical challenges to win points, but the japan teams used playful strategies like matching seniors against juniors, men against women, used high clears often (and middle clears for doubles, pressuring no-one) and even positioned men - front serve, woman -back court in mixed doubles. It just goes to show they value the spirit of the event more than the points, its beautiful camaraderie.
Yeah I mean when it comes to competing you should always optimize, but having fun and exhibitions, it's all good to do anything. It is a vibrant experience to see as a viewer too. Just great!
Best thing about almost every legends vision event? The players smiles.
They always smiling and one thing i noticed the most is the seniors always let the juniors play longer. Love the friendship between japanese players 👍🏻
And male players are playing easy on the female players

たいてい大会とかのガチの姿しか見れないからもっとこういう楽しみながら程よく緊張感ある試合を見たい。
The young shots are extremely good - especially the women! And then Akane with her fighting spirit, Arisa with her jump smash, Kento is Kento........but i really liked the way how Hoki and Kamura played. All of them had have so much fun. This was really enjoyable too watch.
And last but not least: How beautiful is Aya Ohori :-O

I just loved this format! So exciting! And I was rooting for Momota's team! Man team Kansha was so so strong! Especially S.Sato and Hoki! Love to all Japanese players!

This was a bit confusing initially but once i saw how it worked, it actually goes really well, especially with the pro players letting the juniors play on the same court and giving them plenty of chances to play! The youngsters are very solid and humble so far. Perhaps in a few years, a couple of them will be playing on the world circuit.

Momota looked a bit worried or bored? Ohori had improved a lot, It was very impressive, and she seemed to know how to play double. Hashimura is brilliantly talented, she might be a star in the future.
