      @Joeseph Colosi What is a proven fact? That they work together or that they always win? I agree that they are the most dominant in this event but what I’m saying is that the 800 is not really an event u can help your teammates out in. If u look at the 800 meters for 2016 u will literally see rudisha causing his other teammate to lose by pushing the pace so much at the beginning. Some events can be run in teams I’m just saying the 800 isn’t generally one of them.

    Quite possibly the most boring mens 800 metres final in olympic history. Compared with 2000, 2004 and 2012 in particular it just wasn't interesting at all. But congrats to Bungei, I actually forgot he even won this TBH.

      I realised most Olympics are more tactical than time trials. You don't wanna go hard first and risk setting others for a quicker finish. Unless you're a human of supernatural ability and you have confidence in your ability like Rudisha. That's why others ran fast times in 2012 because he was like setting pace. These athletes could've ran better times but the battle was for gold

    • @ak2pacalypse
      @ak2pacalypse 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@felistergatwiri7134 Yes but if there were stronger runners in the field then they wouldn't have let them set a pace that slow. A strong runner would have ran a 1:43 regardless. They wouldn't have let the slow frontrunners run a 53.3 second first lap and dictate a slow race. The only reason that a 1:44 was able to win this race was because it was a relatively weak field.

      @@darrellid Now, to be fair, I expected the race to be quick. It wasn't. Not even Amos pushed the pace in the slightest. Murphy couldn't make a move anywhere, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and came last. If the first lap were 49 mid, and he came through two seconds slower, it would be his win, as the field would be all strung out. It wasn't like that. Only Bol and Korir were free, and Korir used his staggering 400 speed on the last lap to his advantage. It was a silly race, but it was a well-earned gold by Emmanuel. I get it, it's an Olympic title on the line, but if you want it, make sure everyone doesn't have an even chance of getting it also. That's why I like NCAAs. Just some college kids who want a great athletic life, so they'll leave it all on the track to win. Now slow races aren't all bad, but that one was. Only people who ran that one well were the top three finishers: Korir, Rotich and Dobek.
