- Hey! The question today from @mindgraphy_ "can I mix #traktor and #maschine if I do not own an #audiointerface or fancy #dj #mixer alongside them?"
The answer is YES YOU CAN! #madewithni thought of everything. We start with a very brief setup guide and then jam along for awhile. I am routing the Traktor audio through the MK3 or #maschineplus audio interface, for a super minimalist setup. I hope you enjoy! Where do we go from here?
If you can only afford a $300 X1 mk3 and a Maschine MK3, you can afford a TON of flexibility, capability and fun. Layering your own production layers and drum kits atop your dj set is easier than ever. Cheers!

Cool stuff - really fun looking setup!
sorry for the question, is it possible to create a setup with 2 traktor x1 mk3 and machine+? is useful? Do I need to use an external audiointerface?
Hey no worries. This is precisely what this video demonstrates. You could use the M+ or MK3. 😊 you only grain discrete channel controls when adding a mixer or an interface.
I found your comment on another video saying you’d do this video, and I can subscribe to that
awesome 😊
yoooo I love your videos! I was searching for maschine + traktor tutorials and no one was doing these tutorials.Did you have those maschine patterns premade for the songs in traktor? Or did you just sort mash up together? trying to learn the workflow of eletronic musician as I am a guitarist
For some jams I make kits, patterns, sounds from scratch and mix them… for this jam I used some maschine kits with slightly altered patterns & found songs in my traktor library that would blend in/out of the session. You can really choose your own adventure!
Great vid!! I always wanted to get a machine plus but I heard the cpu wasn't up to scratch and playing lots of tracks would cause pops and clicks so it put me off. Wonder if there gona do a v2
Thanks! It started super buggy, but it’s much better now. Much more stable. I think it’s nice for the extremely easy workflow, but the CPU will still be a limit at times. For now, I’m loving this thing. Also, the ability to run complex machine projects on a silicon Mac + traktor with extremely low buffers… win.
I do want a standalone video with these 2, I’ve been super interested in getting a X1, I just don’t use the computer as much
My current favorite way to DJ without a laptop is the Denon Prime media players, but they are pricey and large.
You could get a used Denon SC5000 or 6000 for really cheap, run that standalone alongside the M+... but it's not traktor.
If it's possible to use Traktor Pro (with any controller) + Mashine Plus (in stand alone mode) not using throw Mashine software but connect via link to Traktor Pro? ))))
Yes, in standalone mode the Maschine Plus can sync over wifi to Ableton LINK, syncing with any Dj app like Traktor, Serato, Rekordbox - provided they have LINK. The specific controller is not really important. The Denon Prime players sync over LINK in standalone mode to maschine plus, for example.
Dumb question....
So, you can use the Maschine as the audio interface for the X1?
Can you monitor the mixing through the headphones and not have the audio coming out of the main audio outs?
Hope that makes sense!
No such thing as dumb questions... only dumb answers. The MK3 or M+ can be used as audio interface for Traktor - the x1 controls it, Traktor runs the show... That said, in my video the Traktor audio just feeds out through the mains on the Maschine Plus. I was not able to route two channels through the Maschine in the way you are thinking. The cue and master are separate, but they do not separate in the way you want. The truth is, to "really" enjoy this setup, a very inexpensive mixer with USB would be immensely useful. The pioneer S5, for example. it's cheap, has USB audio (for both channels of Traktor) and you could run Maschine from the Maschine hardware through that interface, out via 1/4 to RCA and IN to the S5 on either channel. In this way, you could flick a switch to go from USB (Traktor) audio to Maschine. You may also be able to run either/both through USB to the S5, but the "RCA Maschine" approach gives you the choice to go between two Traktor decks or a Maschine + Traktor deck. IF you are trying to do this on the cheap, an inexpensive interface and old DJM-300 would also work. You just need four channels for the IO from Traktor to the mixer, run RCA to mixer… and then if you want to switch between Maschine and Traktor you’d have to swap RCAs. Not as clean… but it would work. If you choose deck A for Traktor for the entire mix, Deck B for Maschine, you would have hybrid setup with full channel control. Yes, it would be more limited.
Could this work with the DJM 250 MK2 ?
@@estebancapitaine If you have the processing power, I don’t see why not. The 250mk2 has a single USB interface so I’m guessing that means you can pipe ONE signal out over uSB. In this case it would be traktor… I would set it up with Maschine audio out of maschine, traktor audio out over USB… connect maschine over 1/4” to RCA to the mixer physically, and do traktor over both channels digitally… in this way you could flip the input switch to LINE/RCA on the mixer when you want to hear Maschine. Does that help? Otherwise you’d likely need a bigger mixer with more USB connectivity… USB1 and USB2, like the Denon X1800/1850 or other larger Pioneer mixers. I haven’t tested this setup you speak of, but I am fairly certain this is the way it would work.
I’m thinking of a setup with Xone 43c + native X1 & Maschine plus sync link on Traktor Pro
@@estebancapitaine Will you add an audio interface? The 43C doesn’t appear to have any USB IO built in. If you add the right external interface, should be GTG.
When I See These videos of a guy having all his stuff into the bedroom or the bedroom into the house I feel they still live with their parents!
That’s hilarious. This is my music room/office/ 4th bedroom combo in our home 😅 I live with my hot wife ❤
@@MrFullyCharged haha, i thought you were 50 still living with parents but ill be ok if my kids live with me when I get old, i always want to have them around!
@@IsraelLopez-eg8lq Bro I’m only 43!! :P
There is not enough small mixer for this setup 😢
I have the same setup, but I don’t have enough pre-hear and EQ!
The addition of a very simple two channel mixer would make it really much better.
I do want a standalone video with these 2, I’ve been super interested in getting a X1, I just don’t use the computer as much
I'll jam around this week on the X1 & Maschine combo and record more noises. So far, you still have to run Traktor with a laptop, not standalone... But with the current M1 Mac lineup, it is quite easy and realistic to run a couple of traktor decks alongside maschine on the same computer. It's pretty amazing to use technology in 2024.
