    I’m an Ableton user for composition but use Traktor for performance. Not really played with Maschine much but this looks great, so definitely going to invest in the software and probably a controller.

    Hey D.A.V.E. could you please tell me why a 4 bars loop in MASCHINE is 16 in TRAKTOR ..? Thank u so much for your videos !!! Love it !

    • @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert

      Great question. Traktor has it in beats not bars. So 16 beats in a 4/4 song is 4 bars. I had to brush up on my 4 times table 😉

    I don't have Maschine, but interested in Traktor techniques I thought I'd give this a watch. Blow me, you can do this with Ableton too!
    Drag & Drop an audio clip straight from Live into a deck in Traktor. Sweet! Thanks for the inspiration Dave!

      That sounds cool I'm going to try this. I want to input my own sounds in real time/live then scratch them using controller/dvs. This method might work for it I think?

    can I combine the Akai MPC one and maschine mk3 together makes it a power house ---- MPC one for as your main station for drums and you can use the Maschine Mk3 for sampling, leads ,chords, atmospheres etc!

    It seems like the best usage of this would be to have a song base in traktor along with some of the special tramsitions so you can get more complex transitions as well as keep the music going while maschine is swapping out projects.

    Ive seen some other videos matching the Maschine Mk3 with the new Traktor X1, what are your thoughts on X1 Mk3 with Maschine vs the F1? Im looking to build a hybrid DJ setup without jog wheel.

    • @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert

      I think it’s a great idea. I personally love faders so the F1 can accommodate that, but it’s all preference. Let me know what you pick :-)

    Hi Dave, liked your series here a lot =) I'd love to see a Maschine video on Ableton intergration. I've been playing with Ableton and Push2 for a couple years and I'm pretty ok with it, I'm starting to know my way around in Maschine (I've learned some good stuff watching your series!), but establishing a good workflow in Ableton is taking up most of my time. I've set up individual tracks in Abes for each pad on Maschine and have worked out a way to drag and drop midi... but working with the Control Editor and trying to figure out templates and trying to get all my controls on Maschine working in Live is driving me insane!

    • @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert

      Thanks again Michelle. You may have seen this video but might give you some ideas th-cam.com/video/0Z1H5nXMgts/w-d-xo.html
      I personally run my Ableton and maschine software separate at the same time and flick between them. Creating some ideas on the mk3 then dragging them as audio in Ableton.
      You could look at using the mk3 as a controller in Ableton but you have the push so it’s far superior in the daw.
      If you want you can email me at dave@digitalandvinylexpert.com and chat more about ideas and if you would like a lesson to run through things and give you more ways to go.
      Thanks

    Hello Dave, nice tutorial and good informations, as always via your channel ;)
    Got two questions:
    1. Is it possible to controll the steps of Drag & drop from mk to Traktor only via the hardware ( I‘ve noticed that you used the mouse pretty much & think it would be much better without beeing forced to use a laptop screen )?
    So can everything be controlled via hardware only?
    2. I‘m working with Maschine software and noticed the cpu glitching ( i‘ve set up my Mac as good as possible and know the drill;) ,but we all know that Maschine software isn‘t the best choice when it comes to composing layer after layer of sounds;)
    How does Traktor work? Does it have any performance glitches as well, or do you recommend Traktor as live software ? I‘m thinking of buying Traktor and hope, that there won‘t be any cpu glitches when it comes to playing the more complex sounds and layers!
    I do use Logic as main DAW, of course!
    But I‘m still in search of the perfect live performance software!
    Keep up the good work & cheers :)

    • @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert
      @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi James, glad this had helped and thanks for the questions.
      Question 1 is unfortunately not that I am aware of as you are drag from one program to another so the mouse is essential.
      2. Check your buffer size to help with cpu usage. As you know logic has a tendency to lag and crash as well.
      I’ve never had any issue with traktor myself and my set up is traktor, maschine and ableton for live. Hope that helps.

    Hi Dave! I have a remix set with diferent sounds. The problem is that while im djing and harmonic mixing changing the key, my sounds wont fit with it as they are on a diferent key. How can I solve it? Thanks a lot mate

    • @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert
      @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yo dude. So you need to make sure the key lock is on all cells and you have the screen in advanced mode (or use the F1) and you can change the pitch. Boom 💥

    So whats the best way to link maschine and traktor? Still having issues routing the audio. I got it to work a bit but have to push the gain on both machine and traktor for proper levels. Any advice?

    • @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert
      @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the link button to sync them and then you run them both physically into an interface or if you have loopback then that would work great.

      Hi Davide, thanks for the comment. You can do this using Serato instead of Traktor. The only way I can find to make it work perfectly is to use the flip record mode with it. I can do this on a TH-cam video if that’s of interest. Thanks.

    Couldn't you just sample a note and run it through the F1 sequencer in Traktor, and then make your patterns there? Wouldn't that give you more flexibility than just pre-making the loops in Maschine, and importing the loops into Traktor?

    • @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert
      @DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could indeed and it would be great in step sequencer or different pitches in remix decks. I think using maschine alongside traktor gives you way more possibilities and you could make a longer loop and put it in a remix deck and change the length using the F1 as well.
      Basically there’s loads of ways of doing it. Whatever works for people. :-)
