i actually like that he has “helmet hair” in both the show and figure form, works for someone who doesn’t expect to be seen by others. wouldve been weird if he took of his helmet and magically had perfect hair like captain america does when he takes his off 😂
also worth noting, seems like the tailoring on the pants is improved compared to previous versions. glad to see it.

I like the "dirt" on the armor, as it's a sneaky way to add depth to the armor with shading. From a distance those speckles would blend visually, and really give depth to the edges of the armor. (Note how nice the chest armor and shoulder pads look in the end shots) It comes across in some of the comparisons and end poses very nicely .

Man that's a gorgeous looking figure! Got the Durasteel Mando but passed on the previous Beskar releases but this was a must have. Got him all payed off but gotta play the usual UK waiting game.. Can't wait to have him in the collection though👍🏻

In the book of boba fett/ the Mandalorian season 2 , mando is spotless clean. I like this one regardless because it’s chrome but it could’ve been perfect without weather because it’s just a bit more accurate and they already have the durasteel version with weathering

I really wanted to use my Mando head sculpt, but I also wanted a helmeted Mando, so I bought a transport Trooper to use the Mando head sculpt on. Its the best head sculpt ever. Its Pedro. The hair is just the icing on the cake.

Justin, perhaps you should take 3-4 of your favorite characters from your collection and do a show about posing them and / or photographing them?
You've got so many cool characters, it would be great to see some old treasures and grails come to life on screen.

So the V1.0 vs V2.0 debate:
I will justify both. The first one is amazing and it is a great figure. The Beskar in the show had a variety of looks. It was really shiny in some scenes, and quite dull in others. It still catches the light and appears as metal. And the new one represents the scenes where the suit was shiny, as well as being a S2 Mando. They also come with very different accessories. They really compliment each other. And that head sculpt! Wow.

The two beskar versions are excellent, I'm watching the TV show again and in most scenes Mando's armor is more faithful with 1.0, there are few scenes where he is chromed. But the new version has some more accessories, so for me it's a tie

Hi Justin! How are you? Hope you are well in this new year. I had been trying to figure out how this head sculpt would look in person. And despite the fact they are still using the foot rest stand that isn’t always practical, the accessories included in both versions are perfect to set up on your display shelf right before season 3. I do love seeing the darksaber, and the shiny chrome armour and TBH the figure looks so good and I can’t wait to get this figure. Because of the fact that there are pieces that aren’t chrome, I’m gonna get some paint ready and any other touch up products I may need to keep the figure in top form. Now, in regards to the head sculpt, is this the first head sculpt made of Pascal? Well, looking at this finished product it looks perfect and they outdid themselves. Even little Grogu looks great! The final chrome armour along with everything else looks spectacular! It’s a dream come true. Thanks for the video , I wrote my comments again, wasn’t sure if they went through under PF 😊💎

Thanks for the review Justin! Can't wait to get mine! If I had one complaint, it would be that peg on the rife that is used to attach it to the figure. Really wish it was magnetic. I haven't attached the rifle on my durasteel for fear that it might break it off

Great review and great figure... I only wish we could've gotten a Pedro head and the Dark Saber with the standard Beskar armour so you could have him in 'Tatooine' mode and 'Goodbye Grogu' mode... yes, I could buy two but $$$!! Super figure though, thanks for the details!

I like how Hot Toys include an unmasked and masked head, looks awesome! I also recommend to review the S.h. Figuarts Bruce Lee because it’s awesome. And the effects look great!

Would've been great if Hot Toys included Grogu's Mythosaur Necklace and also have the small removable detonator/ bomb disc magnetized for an easier & secure attachment to the metal bomb holder on his belt.

Thanks for the review. I was one of those who was disappointed as I received my 1.0 version and saw this Chrome version announced! But I still own my 1.0 he isn’t going anywhere and I have this version on preorder. Lol.. I would like two as well but budget wise I can’t. So I will display him a few weeks with helmet and a few with head sculpt.

This definitely looks awesome! My only concern is your mentioning of the chrome paint possibly chipping. And considering it’s a big part of this figure I can’t help but feel hesitant.

I went with the regular version without the swoop bike bits; I don't care about them. The chrome is good! I can't wait to get him posed up with Beskar spear and Dark saber in tow.

Another great review, Justin! I am finding myself a tad bit more tempted to get this guy than I thought I would be, going into this.
I know people give you a lot of shit in the community for various reasons-some of which are just silly-but this was a fun video to watch. And I don’t even have much of a desire to own this figure.
Personally, I think the 1.0 with the OT Customs upgrade kit (which you also reviewed and everyone should check that video out, as OT Customs does great work, even though we probably pester him for updates a bit much lol) is more than enough to have a season 2 Mando. Unless you are just really wanting every single look that they are going to give him-which would be understandable, seeing as how awesome Mando is.
I’m fine with just the Durasteel and 1.0 Beskar though. In fact, I do believe the chrome is less accurate than the 1.0… albeit, the 1.0 does need a tad more of a shine to it.
Would love to own this guy, but I already have the dark saber from the Moff Gideon figure and I really dig the 1.0 upgraded version. If I had to say one thing is tempting me the most, it’s the spear holding hands and the seemingly improved articulation. Or did my eyes deceive me about the latter?

@@JustinsCollection It does seem like the suit is less restrictive than the 1.0? I seem to recall the flamethrower poses being a bit more difficult for you to do on the older Mando figure reviews.
I’m sure you’ll end up doing an in-depth comparison video with all of the Mandos (and perhaps the OT Customs kit) soon? Would certainly be worth a watch or two!

Honestly ik most ppl won't be able to do this but I just dye my flight suit with an airbrush
I have to wonder if the actual suit really is grey but through color grading of the film they apply a bit of a sepia filter that makes it appear more brown on screen. Otherwise I can’t understand why HT would keep making it grey
It’s like a grey that faded into brown. Sometimes it looks brownish, sometimes it looks more so grey. So I personally don’t mind

Thought on swapping the headsculpt : An alternative approach - How difficult would it be to switch the Beskar Armor over to the Season 1 “Durasteel”body, and vice versa? Maybe that way you can have a Season 1 Pedro Pascal Mando without modifying the body? Of course… Then the new helmet on the old body might be a problem… Or would it?

Great review, Justin! I have a couple of questions I was hoping you could answer. Can you store the vibroblade in his boot like it is in the show? Have you considered using a bit of Blu-Tack to keep the thermal detonator from falling off his belt? Shouldn't leave any type of stain or residue. I think I'll do this with mine.
Never got Beskar 1.0, so I'm pumped to get this one, but wanted some of the 1.0 accessories not included here. Ended up buying the jetpack thrust effects, the Mythosaur necklace and the tracking fob on eBay.
Didn't want the pram, extra Grogu heads, camtono, Beskar ingot or the hologram...but I DO want the lightning effect for the rifle. Do you know if these are ALL of the accessories this 2.0 is "missing"?

Yes that is correct re the missing stuff plus the flame effects for the jetpack.
All I want to be happy is Cara Dune in 1:6 scale. Personally, I prefer 1.0 armor. The new chrome is just to mirror reflective. The older version is perfect for photography.

So glad to see that the head sculpt does indeed look just as good as it’s prototype.. I had no idea about the small controversy regarding this figures announcement shortly after the beskar 1.0 shipped. I do feel a little indignant about the new Tom Holland portrait shipping with the red and blue suit, as I’ve purchased the Integrated suit and that has yet to ship. The difference, for me at least, between those portraits is simply unreal.
It sure does! That’s the same situation, in Hong Kong integrated suit is already released. The new one wont be out for another year or 2
in some shots when you look it up his suit does appear grey and brown in some parts so that is interesting because it is original all brown

Got my Mando last week and was honestly massively disappointed with the weathering finish. At no point does the beskar look that beat up. Followed the polishing guide with a Cod Cape cloth and it looks absolutely night and day. Left enough weathering on so it's not completely clean, but it doesn't look like a fake effect like how it was applied by Hot Toys. Can highly recommend the modification, even to someone with no experience like me, it was simple.

Hey Justin I’m torn on getting this or waiting for the new mandalorian luke. I’m a sucker for light up features and if I’m not most lame they are using something different for Luke’s lightsaber? Also love the chrome though for this guy and his accessories 🤣 which would you recommend?
