    Thank you for this tutorial Jess! I'm making these for charity. After spending some time with this pattern(trying every interfacing known to man) I have made a few changes. I print it to 110%. I use zipper tabs with a zipper length of 7" I use all quilting cotton. The main panels have fusible fleece covering the entire panel. I do not leave anything out of the seems. The main lining uses SF 101 covering the entire piece. The dispenser pocket and treat pockets do not have any interfacing as in the pattern. I use 17mm grommets from KAMsnaps using a pro press. I left 1/8" inch of the d ring connecter in the seem and put a rivet on the outside for strength. For final construction, I sew the lining a little smaller than the main panel so it fits better and doesn't gap inside. I know this is a lot of info but I hope this will help others. :)

    You could also use the front pocket for a phone and plug your headphones in thru the grommet

      I like this idea. But I’d use a smaller grommet and put it towards the top of the pocket. This is a great idea!

    Well Jess, all I can say is thank you for the time you spent on this tutorial as without it I would not have made this bag. Quicker & easier for me to follow in real time whilst sewing rather than refer to the paper pattern which is also excellent (he instructions are so detailed & well thought through). However, I cannot imagine anyone making & selling these bags as all the prep & sewing just takes too long. It's a keeper for me unless you are prepared to put in the hours for a loved one. The labels in the pattern were invaluable and your time stamps were also extremely helpful. Big hugs to you and the designer for an excellent job. You've done us all a big favour.

    Thanks for this video, Jess! I always thought you needed a special tool for fastening grommets, one similar for rivets. I avoided doing anything with grommets for this reason - another expensive gadget I don't want/need to purchase. Pleasantly surprised no special tool was needed, so a huge THANK YOU for showing this. YAY! Very cute bag. I just may have to buy the pattern now and make the bag! 🙂

    You are seriously such an inspiration! I started getting into quilting at the beginning of quarantine last year, and then ran across your channel. I thought to myself, “there’s no way I could do any of these bags...” Fast forward to today.... I have made three of these slim doggie bags, a sunshine crossbody, and the everyday tote!! You have me the confidence to try vinyl for the first time!! Not to mention I am obsessed with rainbow zipper tape, rivets, and KamSnaps! 😂😂 Can’t wait to try the Divina Tote and Trailblazer backpack next! Thank you for all your content! :)

    Looks like a good bag. I need to make a couple. If I were able to take my dog on long walks again, I'd like to make her a type of saddle bag to hold her water and an expandable bowl. She's half German Shepherd and half Timber Wolf so she's a big dog. She had one something like I want that was almost the right size for both our water and my keys and such. She loved putting it on because she knew she would be meeting new people and other animals. I wish I knew how to design those. Thank you for the great video. 💗😊💗

      I like that you encourage hacks. On my bag I used foam and I used a poly strap that I happened to have in my stash so my strap is not adjustable but so versatile so my bag was finished in no time. I'm using the bag as my daily bag, we are under mandatory mask use so that front pocket is perfect for the mask, I can carry my phone and a small id wallet. This is a new favorite bag! Thank you

    Well, you've gone and done it again! Another bag I HAVE to make, darn you! Seriously, this looks so fun - we all have some beautiful or funky fabrics that this would look great in. Also, since this bag is so slim and body-hugging we could wear it under a hoodie, jacket, or coat when we're in those situations where we need to keep our purses out of sight from nefarious persons. AND, if we make a matching Itty Bitty Bag to match and not box the corners it would slip right into this bag with some cash, ID, and credit card.

    SOoooo glad to see this! Don't have a dog Jess but, I do take walks ( need to take a lot more because these days I'm baking a lot and....yeh, ummmmm). Sometimes my walkin bottoms don't have a pocket so need something to put my cellphone in (MapMyWalk app MUST go with me). Gonna make it!

    Great that you do tutorials using a domestic sewing machine and not an industrial. I would love an industrial but just too old to invest in one nor do I have the space for one.

    • @OklaRoots
      @OklaRoots  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I completely relate Nancy. I love industrial machines, but it would be hard to advise what everyone can make if I used it. I'll stick to my domestic for now.
