You have my respect.
I keep you and yours in prayer. 🙏
Always fascinating to hear what you have to say each week John. Thank you. Keep on keeping on.
God bless you and Elise
Bravo to you & your wife
God bless you and your wife, John. Many of our fellow Catholics do not understand forgiveness.
God and bvm bless you and wife. Keep fighting for our church. Amen
Dis 'n' dat
1) "The pope is never ill until he is dead." -- Vatican saying
I hope and pray for Pope Francis returns to good health soon. During the last years of John Paul II, John Paul seemed to be propped up by aides and was said to sign anything put before him. While I am no fan for Benedict XVI, Benedict abdicated with his dignity intact,
2) The laity participating in a conclave? We should all live so long!
I wish Catholics in the pews could hire and fire their pastors and bishops.
Questions: when was the number of papal electors limited to 120 cardinals? when was the age of 80 set for maximum age for cardinal-electors? Just wonderin'
3) If Argentina has had ten presidents in less than 40 years, I would recommend that the new president not to unpack his suitcases
On point number one I agree with you 100%. I too have never been a fan of Ratzinger, but he won my respect during his pontificate and especially by abdicating and setting a precedent that is relevant for our age. I once saw John Paul II coming out of the back entrance of the Vatican in a car, on his way to the Stations of the Cross in the Colisseum during Holy Week. He was not only propped up by aides, but it seemed as if he was no longer aware of where he was or even who he was. On point nr 2 I wish I could answer - I have written about Cardinal Decio Azzolino (1623-89) and the conclaves of the 17th century (Church Politics in 17th century Rome, published 2000 by Stockholm University Press) but at that time the number of the College of Cardinals was limited to 70. The maximum age for voting is a modern innovation and, given the longevity of the present century, a good one. Not everyone is as sharp in their 80's as they were earlier in life .
Way to go John. I don't get Church Militant here in Thailand. It must have limited distribution. Merry christmas.
Well Done!
Love your reporting John.
🙏🏻
in light of the last story interesting to remember John's wife is behind the camera and he's looking at her when he speaks
i have no doubt about your honesty John; however i can spot manipulated information when i hear it. and gracious to you not to take a strike back at those who have given manipulated information. i never doubted you.. i have lots of doubts about others.
Of cousin he is. He wants to endure his successor is a troll like himself.
Just like John Paul II wanted Joseph Ratzinger to succeed on the papal throne. We got a John Paul clone ... but worse
Every pope in modern times except John Paul I has done some changes to the conclave rules in one way or another. It's not a big deal. Paul VI was reportedly thinking about including lay people, but ultimately decided not to. I don't think Francis will devaluate the role of the cardinalate because it isn't in the interest of the church to do so - he has publicly admitted that he doesn't feel comfortable with the traditional "regal" side of the papacy, but acknowledged that this is one of the things that he just can't change. The same can probably be said about the cardinals role in the conclave.
Au contraire. JP ll made the big change and the liberal modernists ignored the rules. There's supposed to be no electioneering. There is. The Holy Spirit be damned.
like the chapter breaks
My brother in Christ, it’s called “Midnight mass” for reasons that would be obvious to you if you knew Roman Catholic traditions. It need not be celebrated at midnight.
If he includes laity that are true Catholics who believe everything that the church teaches and they practice everything that the church teaches on a daily basis then I'll get behind that. But I doubt that would be what would happen probably the laity that would be involved would be liberal non-catholic laity.
Midnight Mass at 7.30pm. Sounds Irish... l am Irish 😂🇮🇪
Sounds sensible to me.
In the US, a lot of parishes stopped 12 a.m. Christmas years ago. Parishioners at my old parish skewed old, very old , so the first Christmas was offered at 9:30 p.m.
I feel tat each pope should be choose by both the church and representatives of Royals since they are chosen by God to rule after all
Another week of chaos and confusion.
If only proper Cardinal Deacons and lay participants were on the agenda!
72% of the voting cardinals and he's still not sure they'll go for a Francis ll?
I doubt Benedict was thrilled when Francis was elected pope. It should be noted that the archbishop of Buenos Aires was first runner up in the previous conclave
@@ConanTheLibrarian-n5q If it were those same voting cardinals we would definitely get the opposite of Francis ll. But it's not..... we can only pray.
@@Jimboken1 Pray that we get a Francis clamor
make that Francis clone. AutoSpellCheck can be irritating at times
@@ConanTheLibrarian-n5q The Freemasons, communists , satanists and globalist are right behind you.
The conclave supersedes the papal authority. The pope is because of the college of Cardinals. Decision to change conclave has to be done by college of Cardinals only,NOT BY POPE ALONE
Behold the Man of Sun and his atrocious moves to destroy the Church of Rome!
Spell 'Sin' please.So sorry!
John, suggest simple action: get rid of the evil 🙈 Pacapapa 😈!!! Back to Jesus.🙏❤️🙏 Away from the Pacapapa and his minions of which there are many in Vatican 😮
Francis does what Superior General Sosa tells him to do.
Milei gives quite strong words to pope Francis.... and now he gets a rosary... Get praying bro...!!
Would he have diplomatic flu, not turning up for the climate conference
Nah....Francis is like a pig in sh1t at globalist gatherings. He loves them.
Climate change.
I came back to make a snide comment about Barron and the new same sex blessing -- but I stayed for the whole thing. I feel SO bad for you and Elise. So very bad. Really. Omg. And -- I don't care about your past, John. Well, not when it comes to relationships -- that's for damned sure. NO ONE has any right to cast stones at someone else. 💘 (Except for Barron. -- LOL -- sorry, couldn't resist.)
Pope Francis you just keep on changing the church, why not put up a new church where you can rule as you like.
Crux, your number 1 source for papal apologist propaganda. Honestly man, will you ever hold him accountable for the messes he makes?
He is a journalist not a partisan
I heard a good priest read the definition of Neo Paganism and said that Pope Francis fits this definition to a tee. I see the comparison. It's is obvious.
You really don't see how this rumor is an attack on the Pope? I find that disingenuous, to say the least.
One of the very worst popes in the history of the Church has had uncertainty, confusion and ambiguity surrounding him for a decade and it's Lefty John's fault?
Are vatican tribunals infallible?
No, papal infallibility is very narrow
IIRC, the pope infallible in matters of faith and morals, only
@@chrisbiddle3674 The pope is only infallible when he keeps his mouth closed.
Yes the cardinal is guilty
Yikes!!! Francesco-the-Second is on the way.
I cannot wait!
I didn't get a rosary from Pope Francis when I met him I got a signed photo, not that I could care any less about it
He's a narcissist .... loves fame
I’d treasure that till my dying day - why didn’t I get one and someone who doesn’t care did?
I have to say it's probably a blessing in disguise that Pope Francis can't speak at any length.
you're funny
An unusual show this week - I like that although not for the reason per se.
There's a bit of me, John, that would tend to advise not saying a word. It's something which worked for Her Late Majesty for seven decades and she was one of the most admired people on the planet...... You handled it consummately and a nice chivalrous touch requesting Boris apologise to Elise - if that, however, transpires not to be forthcoming, I would literally forget it and move right on. After all, if the Pope can get over being called an imbecile and a son of a bitch, I feel you both have the werewithal to weather what amounts to who kissed who and when - effectively scurrilous playground chatter. You've acknowledged it all, you stayed fair about both CM and Voris (despite both entities being absolutely vile!) and that's that.... let's hope you're back on form next week😂❤
It is possible that your annulment is not valid because of certain changes that loosened the rules. You should make sure.
Pope Francis should retire
Church Militant is a sad and unchristian piece of hypocrisy as fits so many right-wing traditionalists. Just read the Gospel.
Btw, John -- you're taking the attack on you and your wife a lot more emotionally than you originally took the Israeli-Hamas War. To date, far more than just 4000 people have been killed. Are you taking the war seriously now? I remember that 4000 deaths weren't a big deal for you. smh But an attack on you and your wife is. smh
THE POPE FROM HELL 😮
Are you talking about John Paul II or Benedict XVI?
No we are talking about Francis
This is a non-issue. The next pope is St. Peter, and as the first pope, he needs no conclave. "In psecutione.extrema S.R.E. sedebit."
