Quality is good, try to use the camera stand as often as possible, there is no need to hold the camera by hand, you can point at things with a pen instead. Much more convinient to watch. Thank you for the video, I don't own this product, but it helped me understand how the cards work. I'm about to buy a one mix 3 pro, which supposedly has a spare m.2 slot, so after installing this m.2 modem, I only need to somehow retrofit a simcard tray and antennas. I might be able to custom 3d print a new backpanel and salvage a phone for antennas and simcard tray... idk.. if anyone reading this has any idea how I could pull this off, let me know :)
Be really careful with the ribbon cables when taking off the screen. The rubber protectors for the usb ribbon cables was melted to the backside of the screen, and it broke the connector before i could even get something in there to pry it off..
Hi there! Could you please show us where the other side of the black and white cables are connected to? Because on my laptop these are not cables waiting to be connected somewhere, unfortunately! Thanks...!
// P3A / CE 2016 Sorry for the late response. What is the IP rating? This mod only adds WWAN as a network option (SIM card required). I think the WLAN card and the SSD are visible, not sure if you can get to the RAM.
Thanks for the great tutorial. I have a refurbished 7220 and wanted to add the same card. Were the wires you connected originally connected to something else on the board or just hanging free inside the tablet? I don't seem to have the power wires for the wireless card.
I have DW5804 and DW5570. Do you know if any of them willbe working in 3G/4G/LTE network. Are they compatible with Dell Latitude? I have E7440 and slot for WWAN module. What is the software required to install?
Yes, it's just a rubber seal but this process doesn't compromise the seal at all. Just tighten all of the screws really well with the correct Phillips screwdriver bit (so they don't strip).
Correct, your device will need a slot for a SIM card, which can be different sizes. An mSATA SSD may be too long/screw in the wrong place to fit, and it may not even work if it was inserted in that slot, so I don't recommend trying it.

ratmatz that’s awesome. We have a lot of surplus as we as we stopped issuing them. They worked well for 2-3 years but Windows 10 didn’t seem as quick to operate as a regular laptop; maybe a memory upgrade would’ve helped
Thank you!!! I no longer have to use my phone as a hotspot when working out in the field.
Much time has passed but still no video like this on TH-cam
@@sumitsingh7803 I recorded this years ago and it seems that this is still a popular upgrade for these tablets. I’m glad that it is helpful!
THanks! Needed to see how to replace the screen. Yours was the only one I could find.
That is amazing video bro 👏
i own a different version of latitude but when U said "we could find one like it so if it might help You" Touched me

Thank you for the great video!
Michael Taal you’re welcome, I hope it helps!
Ver y nice! I'm going to do this with a Thinkpad T460s once my WWAN card get to my hands

Thank you 🙏🏽 🎊 ❤
COMO PUEDO COMPATIR WIFI PARA MI CELULAR DESDE ESA latitudes 7220 SI NO LE SALE QR
Is the RAM upgradable?
Stupid question but do you have to have a Cellular plan for this to work?
Yes you have to add it to your cellular plan, usually like $10/month, but then it works like any other device that has LTE.
4:22 it was a electric spark when you touched the screw ?
No, but I’d remove the batteries before starting either way.
@@sk83rboi777 I know the batteries are disconnected .. but it's really weird and kinda looks like a spark but I can be wrong :]
@@20120330 there is no electricity going through the components. I did close to a dozen of these and had no issues.
Was there any glue on the backside of the screen to make it water tight
Surprisingly there is no sealant
did this do anything to the ip rating?
also, what would you say is upgradeble on the inside? SSD, RAM. bluetooth, wifi etc?

xWR3KTx IP = Ingress protection. Basically it’s the civilian equivalent the mil-spec drop / waterproofing.
Thanks for the info btw :)
Thank you
Thank you for this video. I was actually looking to replace the mSATA SSD in a 7202 but couldn't figure out how to get the case open.
xXSkyllaXx sure thing! That would be a good upgrade to do. Are you installing a NVMe SSD?
No I was just replacing a bad drive with another stock SSD.

They were already in all of the tablets that I have opened up, not connected to anything, unless a WWAN card was already installed
@@sk83rboi777 Hm, I haven't any wires in my 7212 Rugged. Strange...
Any follow up on this? Are some just not wired for this? I am not seeing those wires in mine either… bummer.
Great video thanks. Do you know of any videos fixing the keyboard when they are not recognised by the tablet?
We had that happen and were only able to resolve it by replacing the keyboard cover
Keyboard is the biggest problem. How do you fix it?

ngl this is some military grade laptop casing
Just curious, after closing the tablet back up, was it still water resistant?
Yes, it's just a rubber seal but this process doesn't compromise the seal at all. Just tighten all of the screws really well with the correct Phillips screwdriver bit (so they don't strip).
So not only you should have a wwan slot but another slot where to out a sim card right? Can you out an msata ssd in that wwan slot?
Correct, your device will need a slot for a SIM card, which can be different sizes. An mSATA SSD may be too long/screw in the wrong place to fit, and it may not even work if it was inserted in that slot, so I don't recommend trying it.
Are you happy with the performance of the tablet?
Tigga I don’t use it personally but it is still working fine in the field
@@sk83rboi777 so you can recommend it for easy games and things like that?
Can you also install GPS?
Can i do it on any laptop?
If I'm seeing that right, the SSD is right next to the slot for the WWAN card, correct?
Correct 👍🏻

can you make video on installing the WWAN card to Dell latitude 12 5285

eBay
Marks Station
Can I add GPS this way?
Tigga I’m not sure but I believe there is a provision for GPS in the same area as the LTE card

Hey, what if my laptop hadnt come with the Cable Antenna. Woud it be possible to install the Cable Antenna myself?
is it the same size of a WLAN card?
萧衡 No, the WLAN card is smaller.
can we replace the WWAN with a WLAN? i mean, WLAN card comes with different sizes
萧衡 I don’t know if that would work. The WWAN card has smaller connection pins as well.
xWR3KTx right thx man

yes
good video make a video about dedicated gps l can't make mi work
Hello Gustavo, I apologize for the late response. We have not used the GPS either, so I am not sure how to install that. Have you had any luck?
yes install this 2 drivers downloads.dell.com/FOLDER03635309M/1/Communications_Driver_YXC63_WN32_2.12.10.0_A00.EXE
downloads.dell.com/FOLDER03624363M/3/Communications_Driver_TX5Y1_WN64_2.24.0.0_A00.EXE
Is this specific to the latitude or can it be installed to any dell laptop with a sim slot?
Uni this is specifically for the Latitude 7202 but the process is similar for any device that has a WWAN card slot.
