Generalizing from bad examples only proves you're essentially selfish. So maybe "all the damned people" aren't the problem. As they say, if you meet an asshole in the morning, you've met an asshole. If you meet assholes all day long, _you're the asshole._

Sounds like a Peanuts strip series where Linus wanted to be a doctor. Lucy told him that he couldn't be a doctor as he had no love for humanity. As Lucy walked away Linus screams at her "I do too have a love for humanity, it's people I can't stand."

I REALLY hope it was fake, but with Karens, you never know. I think it was on RSlash on TH-cam, but don't quote me on that.

I work at a dog daycare and we recently had a couple drop their dog off with our newest assistant mgr for boarding and acted like they knew what they were doing. We require meet and greets and several days of daycare before a. Dog is eligible for boarding. The couple didn't even leave any contact info just said 'This is (name of dog) she's here for boarding' and left. It would have been so easy for someone to steal that dog. It turned out to be an easily fixable issue as the dog had been to a location with our company in another town, but it was a stressful weekend for mgmt while they tried to figure it out.

Story number 2 reminds me of my wrong calls. Years ago I worked in a small hotel on the overnight shift that had a toll free number. The funny thing is that we were 888 and if you dialed 800 it was a call girl service. We got wrong calls so many times. Usually when you tell them wrong number they just hang up. We did have 1 crazy guy that refused to believe he dialed the wrong number. After he started getting rude/nasty about it after several return calls within an hour, I decided to grab his number from the caller ID, waited a few hours, and returned his call in the middle of the night for some fun. When a lady answered the phone I said I was calling from the escort company and we arranged for his request of “3 escorts ranging between 18-20 years old as requested and will be billing the provided debit card the hourly rate as requested under the false listing of Chevron fuel to hide the charges” I heard a smack and her cussing her husband out. Guess he’ll never be able to buy gas at chevron again without his wife giving him a full interrogation.

I used to work in an online adult shop for a long time. You can't even fathom the amount of people calling, complaining and sending back "broken" items to us, because they couldn't put in the battery the right way. Doctors, lawyers and judges included. The stupid was strong with these ones. Even if I told them the problem, they wouldn't listen because "Do you think I'm that stupid?"
    Yes, yes they were.
Pro tip: If it turns on but very weak in vibration and doesn't respond to any inputs, you put the batteries in backwards. Just switch around their facing position and you're good to go.

Flight attendant story: And who wants to bet it wasn't even a delay, just a scheduled layover? The time and place to complain, IF THERE WAS A LEGITIMATE COMPLAINT, was while he was at Houston during the layover/delay.
Same name stores story: I hope she kept the receipt. But if she had I would think the phone number would have been on it. In a way it would have been funny if she had brought her "product" in to return to the wrong store. The look on her face when she realized...
Baby delivery story: I feel sorry for the poor baby. I wonder if Karen ever had any other children after that?
Pet store story: Karen is lucky she wasn't kept there for the police. Since her dog didn't break OP's skin I doubt it would be put down, but Karen would almost certainly have received a ticket/fine for failing to control her dog/not having it muzzled.
IDWHL story: From how OP describes how she was dressed and that she literally parked and came in at the same time with this bozo, he absolutely deserved all the ribbing he got.

I’m a nursing student and one day I was assigned a patient on a clear liquid diet so no true food until after the tests they needed where done. The patient did ask for food but I said I could ask the nurse to request a diet change from the physician. When breakfast came around, we hadn’t heard anything from the doctor so breakfast was chicken broth, tea, and ensure. The patient was telling me the breakfast was insulting but I did explain I had to wait until we heard from the doctor so the patient started throwing the breakfast at me and I didn’t know what to do except hope the ensure bottles didn’t break open while I was pelted with them.

All the stories where people do nothing after being randomly touched always confuses me, because I can feel awkward about sudden unwarranted touch even when it's someone I know, and I can SEE them. If I'm suddenly touched from behind, I'm immediately attempting to step away the contact, and I only **might** stop if it turns out to be someone I know. The fact that these crazies seem to think it's alright to touch a random person just makes my blood boil.

Story 2 reminded me of when I worked at a West Coast Video store which has an adult section in a special back room.
We'd get plenty of dads that would park their children in the kids section to look for whatever movie they wanted while he dipped into the back to find his "special" movie. (This was early/mid 90s when VHS rental stores were a thing).
Our policy was to say the name of whatever movies being rented were due the following day before midnight, or the 3rd day at the same time frame, except for adult movies, we just said "Your movie is due, etc." Regardless if it's a lone renters or a das with kids.
Fast forward to the late 90s and I'm working at a Blockbuster, which in its "Family Frendly" image didn't have an adult movie section.
You wouldn't believe the amount of customers that I had to explain that Blockbuster didn't have that section, but I'd direct them to where West Coast Video is and exactly where to access the section they wanted. Lol!
My favorite manager overheard me helping customers this way a few times and finally out of curiosity ask me how I knew this info (I'm a woman who was in my 20s through the 90s), so I told him. I was the only young woman working there who had zero Fs about putting rentals back, helping customers finding what they were looking for, etc.
The best days were when new stocks of movies came in because it was just my boss and I putting the movies in black, blank cases and shrink wrapping the original boxes that the movies came in.
Some came with "toys",and I'd get giggle fits telling my boss that these were the ONLY toys I've EVER seen which came with batteries included AND installed. 🤣🤣🤣
I loved that job way better than Blockbuster.
My female coworkers were thankful and a little weirded out about me giving zero Fs about the adult section, and the guys (young and older) were just impressed.
Good times with great coworkers. 😉👍

The ora lady!!!! Omg that reminds me of something years ago! So i have a farm and breed champion milking goats. This happened before we had that kind of stock and we were just getting into goats on the farm. Had to take a goat in (cant remember what for) to the vet. My husband already knew the problem but needed a vet to detail and treat the problem. Anyway, we get there and wait for the Dr to come out to the truck to look the animal over. He didnt listen to a word my husband said and went to “diagnose” the goat… by putting his hand on her back, closing his eyes, grabbing his annoyed nurse’s hand, and begins to “feel her energy” or something dumb like that. we wasted 10 minutes of him touching different parts of her back before he did any real diagnosing. The nurse would roll her eyes at him any time he wasnt looking lol. I felt so bad for that nurse.

Story 3 - "I paid to be here." I love how she kept throwing that around. Even if you Pre-paid for your service, you dont have full say in who is to treat you. All the staff work for the hospital, not you, no matter how much you paid for it. As to morphine, it's an extract from the seeds of opium poppy, that is what you tell people like that woman, will shut them up so quickly when they realize what sort of child you are about to bring into the world.
Oh, and before anyone says that woman can fire someone.. That then just shows how stupid the US hospital system is to allow such to happen, because honestly that shouldnt happen. the person works for the hospital, not the woman, she doesnt pay their direct salary and in OPs words of saying they pay to be there, would mean that OP pays the woman, NOT the hospital.

    • @bann5777
      @bann5777 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Actually, the best part about NOT having Universal Healthcare in the US is that we CAN choose who treats us and we CAN fire a doctor from our care if we don't like them. They are employed by the hospitals or clinics BUT we fire them from "our team" of care givers and can choose someone else. There are soooo many awful doctors, nurses, phlebotomists, ultrasound techs, surgeons, etc that I have encountered... Ones who have a God complex, ones who refuse to prescribe medications, ones who think you lie about everything, ones who put fake notes in your medical report if you question them. If a doctor is not a good fit for you, it's your right to find a different one, even in the middle of treatment. We can refuse any treatment, choose an experimental treatment, see a specialist, travel to another state, etc whenever we want because we have health care that allows us that freedom. I have fired MANY healthcare providers and even had some fired from the hospital too for malpractice. You're completely wrong on this.

I have never been touched on the shoulder like that before. There was one time that I was working at a beauty college that a deaf woman that I was going to do a perm on touch me but I could tell that she was something was off but not in a bad way. You see I have very naturally curly hair from both sides of my family. So the big thing that I'd always get in the beauty colleges everybody asking me what size of perm I used. I would always joke it's natural it's a curse lol. But this deaf girl wanted to know how my hair was done and I don't know sign language so I had to write notes to tell her what I was going to do and stuff. It was a nice change of pace for a change at the school. She loved her perm that we'd settled on. Having all these old ladies wanting to look like Sophia petrillo asking you how you did your hair was something I was always asked.

I’m usually kind to medical students, because of the rare condition that I have I get asked to teach every time I’m in hospital.
Until I was in for heart surgery in 2017 I’d never had a problem with any of them, or the interns I’d had either. This one fellow I had though 🤦‍♀️ who actually said to me “well in spite of what Dr Google…” 😠
I put him in his place in an instant. I’ve had this condition all my life, it’s not easy to live with, my mum also had it, and I’ve been taught by doctors who were TOP of their specialties, since 1974 when I was diagnosed. “I’ve had more years experience with this, than you’ve had hot meals.” He kept backing away toward my rooms window, crossing his arms across his chest. The senior nurse who was with him took over. I guess he failed that test.

I work at an Applebee's, I been working at it for 14 years. And over the many years and hours, I meet a lot of people. Even the first guests that visited the establishment when it opened. (Rip to all the first original Regulars I had the honors to Meet, Greet, Seat, and pretty much became family with.)
Most of the guests I met are so nice. There have been some that are a little too nice and it gets Awkward and I do have autism so, It's even more awkward (Only the employees, a few guests that personally know me, and my Employers know I have Autism.) Other than that nobody else can tell or even know about it. These two older guys like about my uncle's and or grandfather's age wanting to give me Hugs don't seem to know. I'm still as polite as I can be, and since my job is being a hostess, I have to do my job quickly but making conversation with guests as I escort them to their tables with menus and specials including featured bar drinks and about the server they will have for their visit. Now these two both liked giving me hugs if they could. I always was kept a bit more quick and brief without skipping any of the regular details I need to script. I know a few servers see these guys as a bit too flirty with the female employees, and I have told them about these guys. There have been a few times one or both of them would try giving me kisses and one would land one on the top of my head. In my head, sirens blaring, and my soul just running like a spooked rodeo horse in a china shop. But I always kept my composure. Still smiling pretending nothing happened. Now, I have servers that don't like certain guests, and these two are no acception. After the one day these two snuck pecks onto my head, and I sat them. I seen a few servers looking very peeved and irritated with this, not only that this old lady and three other guests seen this and talked to a passing server, and after the server went to greet them and do their job and heading back to the kitchen, one of my managers soon gave the two guys a visit. Now I had no guests coming in at the moment so I was folding more kids menus and stalking them with crayons and then doing a walk around to do "Open Menu Count" I count the guest just sat and then tell the employees in the kitchen how many there are open. This helps them while they are taking on the food orders. As I made my way up one of the servers came and talked to me about the two guys. "Well, they should not be bothering or trying to touch you anymore. One of our managers just talked with those two." And yeah, it worked they stopped trying to give me Hugs or kiss me. Now They seemed to feel awkward, and have been refraining from doing anything else but give me very brief greetings and chat.
