Being from Michigan we don't use sugar in our tea, usually lemon. But to each his own. Enjoying watching you and your daughter, you always brighten my day. Thank you and God Bless.
it was short and sweet but it's always fun watching you do your recipes, I'm sure I'm not the only one to say this but thanks for all your hard work and time doing these TH-cam clips they just brighten my day when I'm down, thank you, thank you, thank you 👍😁
Thank you so much for sharing this! We all love sweet tea and I'm also a busy farm wife/cook/homeschool teacher and just always run outta time! This will be so helpful! Its simple but much appreciated Meredith! God Bless and hope all is well with the Bernard Family!! ❤🙏
That's nearly exactly how I was "learned" to make sweet tea. We just added the sugar right into the pan of water and tea bags. That way the sugar would dissolve as the water heated to a boil. Pour the boiled tea/sugar water into the pitcher... then top the pitcher off with tap water. Tada!!! :-)
This! I started making it when I questioned it on your Instagram. I have started keeping a half gallon starter in the fridge. I let mine steep as long as it takes for me to remember it’s on the stove lol Game changer! Thank you!
If you have a coffee maker you can put two tea bags in the top instead of coffee, at 12 cups of water and your water container turn it on ,go away. When it's done pour the tea into a picture with sugar Stir It Up Add Water wula. This way you don't have to wait on the water to boil. But I do like the T starter idea.
I 'always' add lemon as in ice tea, I have been doing it that way for over 50 years, I honestly know that my way or the highway is the only way for me...I boil the tea so long making it very strong that I actually get 'high' on it, again it works for me.
Oh my family goes through alot of tea also. I keep 2 gallons made at a time because we go through a gallon a day maybe more in the summertime. We likes our really sweet so I do 2 cups of sugar with 2 big tea bags. I use scalding water and let it steep on the counter for a couple of hours. It's so easy and fast. Love watching your videos! 🥰
Well you might as well know I am one of those darn yanks. That tea in the quart jar minus the sugar would be just right for lunch!! Thank goodness ‘ to each his one ‘ right? God Bless the whole family. ❤️
My wife use to make sweet tea that everyone loved ( not me) everyone at church potlucks would say , make sure and bring your sweet tea ! I took one little sip one day and told her that tea would give a bee a cavity !! Lol
It may be bad for us but my husband and I can drink a gallon of tea a day . We usually have a couple gallons in the fridge at all times. I think it's a southern thing to always have tea in the fridge. I use red diamond tea.
Going to be making some here very soon cause Miss Annabelle says yummy Ampa and I go yessome thank you for sharing with all of us and keep up the great videos
Ok finished my siesta, I do what is called cold brew iced tea, where you just put the Louisiana cold brew bags in a container of cold water and put it in the fridge, my be less expensive, I don’t use sugar anymore, I use stevia extract 🍃 no Sycrin or dextrose or artificial sweeteners, I love sugar, and it loves my belly, and the clothing department loves my money, lolol haha . Thanks y’all BigAl California.
I am also a stevia user and usually buy the Bolivia imported type on E-bay which I learned about from my sister, a bit more expensive but with no after taste or bitterness and of course no calories! My basic sweeteners are stevia and maple syrup. Thanks! S. Carolina
Something totally different I saw your Instagram about storms and I saw a little thing I get on Facebook called a simple life and it said ,"You cannot calm the storm, but you can calm yourself" I put it here because I don't know if you see those comments on Instagram that I have posted because I don't know if I'm posting them correctly and you have so many,so I just thought I would drop it off here too
I know many will think I'm weird but I don't drink tea..I had a bad case of kidney stones 30 years ago and stopped drinking tea..after eating a can of asparagus and drinking the juice and downing a can of coka cola I got rid of stones..now I have tried Tennessee moonshine don't remember if I had problems or not...lol
We was drinking tea for super every night for years then It got to making me have some problems. And we haven't been drinking so much of it. May be I should go back to drinking it I might not have to take the water pills does the same thing. .
@@evankibbe590 Stevia is NOT a sugar of any type...Stevia is a low-calorie sweetener that is made from the leaves of the steviaplant. It has antioxidant and anti-diabetic properties. I use the liquid type and do not find it bitter when added to coffee or tea. I have several diabetic clients who do very well using Stevia. Just a thought. :)
@@josie4peace it is sugar believe it or not and it tastes terrible I now I tried it and it does make your sugar go up. I'm diabetic and tried it. Not good. It is so sweet it is bitter!!!!!
I admit to cringing when you left the labels on. ;-) I have been a gallon of sweet at a time in my instant pot. This summer I'll try your starter method. I like using the IP since I haven't the patience to stand around waiting for water to boil.
Our best tea always seems to be the pots we forget about. If we have an, "Oh shoot! I forgot to make the tea!" moment, then it's going to be good.
Great idea! Passing this info on to my daughter! They would probably drink more than gallon a day if was ready with the TEA STARTER!
You are fantastic.Your husband is a luck man.
Porch swing, and a glass of sweet tea! Southern by the grace of God!!
🙌🏼
👍👌🇨🇦❤, sweet tea is always the best to quench a thirst, many thanks Merideth for having a second YT channel
Great idea. I always make mine a gallon at a time but I sure do like your idea. Will start doing it your way! Thank you!

YUM!! I do love sweet tea. Thank you
How sweet it is !
Sweet tea is the best. I drink it year round. The way you have your procedure down, I bet you could do it with your eyes closed.
Sun tea is easier! Gallon glass sun tea with a spigot on it. Fill it up with water, sugar, tea bags. Leave it in the sunshine !!!!
Great video, the first one I watched 👍👍. I got to try that love tea in summer better for you than pop.
Hello from 🇲🇽. We really love your videos and enjoy watching what you do.
I want to know what flavor is the tea. 🎭 Please. It seems delicious 😋.
Somebody's catching up on re-publishing her recipes. 👏👍

At least I'll know how to make it now🤣‼️ In Oregon sweet tea isn't common practice‼️👍🏻😄😄

I don't think that's weird. I had a kidney stone once and thought I was going to die. :P
How long are the tea starters good for in the fridge
Im hyperglycemic so I do the same thing with 2 sugar twin or the pink package.
Sweet tea is better than a pop, coke any day.
when do you add the butter?
Great video, we are 2 women who make it the same way. Done it like this for years.

When life throws you lemons, make some sweet tea!
When life throws you lemons - THROW 'EM BACK !!! (cabin fever)
I love sweet tea. But can't drink it .
Because of being diabetic.
It looks like you make it just right
😊😊😊😊🌹🌹🌹🌹👍👍🍻🍻💝
Can you use Stevia (natural sugar alternative)? I never use sugar and sweeten everything with Stevia.
@@josie4peace it tastes terrible for one and it makes my sugar go up to . It is actually sugar from a different source .😊

Make sure your planted firmly in your seat, cause you might roll on the floor 😂

Actually now that I searched the video on youtube
The title to the video is " Food in the South" theirs a Hillarious bit about Sweet Tea
Interesting but, I like my tea unsweetened. Like you say, "to each his own."
If you don't like sweet tea,we can't be friends.
No musket powder in it..😆

First👏👏👏👏❣❣❣❣
You're the best! Hope you're having a great weekend xx
Any surgar drinks makes you thirsty.
Make it without sugar and add honey instead,You got to be careful your kids don't turn into diabetes.
Honey increases blood sugar levels and should be used in moderation. Stevia, a natural sugar alternative, is one of the best options. :)
Second. . LoL
Way to much sugar
