I would like to express my appreciation for this podcast and its consistent improvement with each episode. While I acknowledge the current focus on diversity in terms of age, I believe it would be beneficial to include perspectives from older individuals, particularly those within the LGBTQ+ community. As a lesbian in my 40s, I lacked adequate queer representation during my formative years and primarily engaged with a younger queer community. Incorporating the experiences and viewpoints of older generations can provide valuable insights into their current lives and offer a broader perspective for the younger queer community, showcasing the possibilities of marriage, children, and other life milestones. I have noticed a significant viewership from older individuals in the comments section, and I believe they would greatly appreciate such content. In conclusion, I want to reiterate my admiration for this podcast and express my unwavering support as a dedicated listener.
@blueebird0092 hey! I came to comment this as well. I'm in my early 50's and spend a lot of time clarifying my own internal lesbian journey via podcasts and self exploration, and also have been searching for older queer representation. I've searched reddit, TH-cam, even fb groups for my tribe where I'm not only "the one that's old enough to be everyone's mother" lol. I feel like we should band together and create the space we need. (But I'm not qualified, maybe YOU are? Lol). But in all seriousness, living in a smallish town in SC makes this even harder and it's lonely. Nice to see I'm not the only one, even though I'm still much older than you. ❤
I can totally relate to the parenting- house situation and YES it leads to terrible anxiety. Almost earning every good second of your parent's time and love.. exhausting inside out.
Okay so I have loved every episode so far but THIS ONE just hit different. Jeez, my parents should definitely not have had kids. This was definitely me. Thank you for this one! ❤
I’m 72, cis, married for 38 years. These podcasts have opened my world so much. They’ve become part of my weekly education. Couldn’t finish this one, however. The guest uses “like” to the point of distraction. It’s a generational thing, I know, but it sure does limit the way I hear and understand a conversation. Thanks for giving us such great content, Mal. And thank you for being a great teacher.
I feel this, but exposure therapy helps a lot. Eventually you can get to a point of it becoming white noise. Her truth bombs about her own self realization were 🤯, enough to where it was worth letting go of.
MAL!!! "Then it became YOUR game..😅" I FUCKING CLAPPED OUT LOUD! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not even officially to the 5-minute mark, and I already relate so much to this person's experience!
I relate to the anxious attachment and childhood stuff so much. Like sooooo accurate to my childhood. Its really freaking tough to work through as an adult
I absolutely love the podcast and think Mal is an incredible interviewer. Mal, you are a star, and I can totally see you having your own talk show on network television someday. I get that it might be a generational thing, but am I the only one who finds it a bit annoying when someone (usually the guest) uses the word "like" excessively? 😂
We do all process differently--had to accept this too. The interverted & extraverted cognitive functions we tend to use more, or lean into primary for energy, creates different social habits.
Mal, You've so broad, and of great depth of understanding that I fear you may be swallowed-up, that many in even main-stream media will find and understand your great skills at listening and understanding of human nature, and understand your current relevance (?), and we could loose you as the amazing interviewer that you are for those who know you as you are (honest and super important !) in your podcast, though I trust your honesty and would appreciate mass understanding and attention to issues to which you connect with such ease ! Thank you ! - Farley Andrews
This is exactly me!! Omg I had a similar family situation, and every relationship I get in, or friendship, I fear they don't like me. I hate confrontation. Also, I am in therapy now and can see it, but it's just nice seeing a shared experience. Thank you!! -Fellowqueerleosun
Thank you Mal and everyone involved for this podcast and for this episode. And other episodes. I always heard about attachments styles and I have never paid attention to figuring my own attachments style (mindful that I am a Pschology student) Until this podcasts specially the episodes like this that talk about attachments styles. I now learned that I am a Fearful Avoidant and I currently working on becoming more Secure in my attachment style. As consistent listener, I truly appreciate the knowledge I am getting from this space.❤❤❤ All love from South Africa🇿🇦
This podcast is great for someone who appreciates learning about psychology and introspection. Each guest gives us the opportunity to identify ourselves and Mal is a great interviewer, very good at listening.
A lot of the anxious attachment style behaviors are also symptoms of ADHD and rejection sensitive dysphoria. I think for some of us it may be a little harder to change but we can remind ourselves every time we feel it that it is just a feeling and not what is happening.
I feel that a lot of us have had the same kind of parents... mom mothering everyone in the house & doing wife duties and dad just providing money and mowning the lawn, never showing emotions, never a real father-daughter moment. They're the reason why most women do not want kids nowadays.
@@barnaliadhikary9421 true that.... Very true. I'm glad women of these last generations enjoy their financial freedom in some countries. Our ancestors suffered enough for it
So meeee! Everything i do is wrong and not up to my parents standard and that i must’ve learned that somewhere. Like no babes sorry to break it to you but I am my own person who makes different decisions than you would make
The Uhaul/Ughost are the best. People have quirks ive never heard of in my life and then the specificity of ill ghost only if or ill only uhaul if is funnier 😂 where can we submit our own suggestions? Like: she dedicates a love song to you the first week of dating.
Two contradicting truths can exist in one place. Someone can love you with all their heart & you still feel unloved. Both of you should take the love language test see if it works.
Could it be she's replacing her disinterested parents with overly-controlling partners? Someone who overhauls your life, even your skincare, and doesn't let you into their bed without showering sounds less than ideal, and almost demeaning
Dude I also highkey ate out a girl when I was like 7!!! I've never heard someone else with that experience before omg. 🤣 We started "playing" in a bit of a sexual manner before kindergarten even. To this day I still wonder where she is and if she's a raging lesbo now like me. L (first initial) if you see this, what happened to you?!!! Lol!

I would love some older guests that would be amazing - those stories and perspectives are crucial ❤
Same!!! So well said! ❤
Oh my, she’s young, intelligent and a real cutie with so much learning ahead of her.

"I high-key ate this girl out when I was 7" The way I screamed 🤣
Can y'all do an episode discussing financial independence, money / class differences in the lesbian community?
Yes definitely need to be an episode

I can totally relate to the parenting- house situation and YES it leads to terrible anxiety. Almost earning every good second of your parent's time and love.. exhausting inside out.

Anxiety tell us so many lies about our lives
