Recently started building 30MS kits and I don't know why I waited so long. These things are great! They could use more accessories particular to them (not just carryovers from 30MM, but stuff that fits their aesthetic), but I love what's out so far, and what's coming later this year looks cooler still. They're so easy to build, too.
I discovered this 30MS series and thought they were super cute - I wound up getting Lirinel and Laranel. After watching some videos about how to properly put them together I assembled them and they are really nice little models. But I have a concern about what I see as huge waste! This might be similar for other models too, but it really seems extravagant for these kits. What I mean is what is left over in trees after the model is done - it's a lot of plastic! I weighed Lirinel and all her extra parts and accessories and she's like a total of 26.1 grams. I then weighed all of the left over trees and they weighed 111.2 grams, like four times the weight of the model and parts. I realize that intricate trees are needed because of all the tiny, detailed parts but still, there should be a way to recycle all this plastic, which is very nice quality. I don't know, hasn't anyone every noticed this?
it is indeed standard for model kits and any plastic-based products. it's just that other toys (and some model kits) cut then off for you, but usually this leads to stuff like noticeable mold marks (Lego pieces have those) and most importantly: increased cost cause of labour. we don't even know if they are recycling the runners themselves (probably to some extent a company will, but some might not even bother). it's not like model kit companies don't know this, bandai is actually trying to address this through their eco-pla project, which is melting down recycled runners and making kits out of them (usually black because of how plastics colours work). sadly you can recycle plastic only so much/well to make it worth it. doesn't help that eco-pla is a Japanese thing, so you can't really recycle through that outside of Japan. I personally just keep all my gunpla runners just for the sake of it, if I ever want to just make stuff with them like some people do, I could, but it's mainly just so they don't go to landfill since I have the space. it's prob too costly to make recycling runners worth it for most because you'd need to sort them by colour then deal with melting them down, making sure they're clean, etc. sadly recycling is not always cost effective.
I just purchased both these kits off of Amazon and im glad i found your video for the review of them cause literally Amazon gave no info about the complete figure so yeah all i gotta do now is patiently wait for both girls to arrive and then i can have fun building them both up^^
Oh hey, the Lirinel kit! Cool to see you cover not only her but her sister too, been curious about Laranel since I only have Lirinel (bought from a convention vendor). Yeah the Metroid/Megaman style arm blasters is strange but I don't mind it much - would've been nice if the blasters were on the armor itself so we can fit the hands.
Lirinel's gauntlets seem to have cannons built in them, with 3 fingers (not teeth! come on!) on the top and a thumb on the bottom. Also, I would like to see you kitbashing these with AoZ stuff! Turn Laranel into an unofficial Hazel girl!
I really liked these two with their color scheme, and also the other new one that is like light blue and green colors. My only real complaint about the 30MS kits is same as I have about 30MM which is I wish they had a "Master Grade" size equivalent, because I'd like 50% larger.
I Picked up both of these, actually, and while I *really* don't like Lirinel's design, she was worth the money for the MegaManZX-style Full Armor Laranel I now have as a result. The engineering's amazing, too. Still can't believe I could get them to stand on one leg unassisted. No other 30MS kit that I own or know of is able to do that so far...
After the recent Shizuoka Hobby Show 2024, I was thinking you should pick up the Sigma Sisters Paradox outfit from the IM@S Shiny Colors crossover line for use with Liri and Lara. They look perfect with this new custom outfit, as it can hide their Battle Mode equipment this way.
I recently got Laranel, I'm very excited to build her, definitely the cooler of the two kits imo. I'm glad I'm not the only one turned off by Lirinel's weird holes where hands should be. I like and dislike 30 Minute Sisters kits, on their own they're good quality and inexpensive kits, and the ability to pick and choose the addons you want is nice but... I really don't like how online retailers sell the hairstyle sets 😢 Normally, these sets would be opened up and sitting on a store shelf for you to take the one hairstyle you want, but online you have to pay $30+ shipping for one hairstyle and three others you will never use, it's absurd.
Yaaaay~ I got both of those bunnies and made it mix and match (I mainly use the Laranel one for the expressions; the rest i play with it; To put it simply, if any of u play honkai - yes, im making her Delta =v=). They’re really fun to build and play with. I recently made mine into Jojo’s where they have Stands as well (30 minute missions - specifically Spinatias~)

My Laranel pre-order is being held hostage by the release of Nevarlia (which is out in japan already). Made the order in January and i'm still waiting T-T
Lirinel have white part that can you exchange with the open mouth part so its full white , i dont know if you need color it the same or you can make a line so its look like she smile with teeth
The leg articulation on the black one really disappointed me. For a character with leg weapons the fact that she can't even spread her legs 45 degrees for kicking poses is very disappointing.
@@d9_1056MD's have does highly greater articulation and detail. The only drawback is fragile the wrist/ankle/head joints and plastic. Ordering the spare parts from Kotobukiya is b*tch. These 30MS kits on the other hand, is built like a Toyota Hilux. Cheap and Tough, and lots of ready available spare parts
I think that white piece for Lirinel's face with a hole is supposed to look like teeth when you put it in (there's like a line on the piece where top and bottom rows of teeth would separate)... only I wish her open-mouthed face had a more... elated expression. She looks a bit like she's grimacing. lol
@@myhonestopinion3334 Yes, colour A is a mid tone but with longer limbs and thicker thighs, and Colour B is a slightly lighter tone, with a slimmer, shorter body, and C is a tanned skin tone with the same small body as B. And Laranel/Lirenel are skin tone B, but are the smallest of all. I hope they'll make a tall character with the tan skin at some point.
Built both of this kit. I have mixed feelings with Lirinel. Seems like a lazily designed kit where its just "remove arm, insert gun" and lack of forward looking eye neutral/smile faceplate. The one "gimmick" they tried to promote is "the sisters can hold each other hands" in the manual is just typical Bandai doing the usual WTF. I may be wrong, but I think the hip joint is a newer but more fragile design.

I've seen people make miniature chair and stand for the model using the leftover plastic. I'm considering doing that too, there's too many

You can modify the thigh parts to have a wider spread
They're basically hg's. If you want articulation/rg quality, go with megami device.

Still waiting for Laranel to pop up locally, even though Spinatia Reaper already did, and that's a kit released later than the twins. 😭
The Megman blasters are weird I would have preferred a smaller version of the big arm kit for her
Colour A and B are very similar, both being fair, but B is slightly lighter. C is much more distinctive, being a tan colour.
colour A & B is also different because of their body parts mold thiccness 😂
