    About to do this on my 01' S for the first time. Thanks for showing where the drain plug and filter are. I should probably bleed the brakes too, but will plan to do that a different weekend.

    Succinct, yet comprehensive, so just about perfect. (Did'nt know about half-filling the filter unit).
    Great video, just off to do the job now....

    Great explanation. How much time did the oil change take from start to finish?

    Is it better to have the vehicle level, does oil get left in the pan with just the rear lifted?

    Thanks!! Im from CA due to the temperatures would it be better if i put 0w-40 or 5w-40 on my 1998 986 ?

      If it's hot where you live, probably the 5w-40.

    Hello mate! Looking into getting a 3.2S, any possibility of having a ride along to get a good feel for how they ‘should’ drive? I know it’s a bit outlandish but couldn’t resist, being so nearby! Thanks,
    A.

      Wow... Surprised he never answered.
      The only Porsche I've ever been in is the Boxster I own. Would love to compare the ride to another one

      @@AB-nb2ic wow, this was a while ago! I ended up not getting one because of the common RMS/IMS issues along with the other faults they can develop. How's yours treated you?

      @@TheVeganPlumber Bro every sports car has got its own "problems", if you get worried about these things you'll never get one. IMS problems in Boxsters are a pretty rare issue and even if it happens, it's pretty easy to fix it. (source: I'm a 3.2 S owner)

    • @TheVeganPlumber
      @TheVeganPlumber ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edivad7888 yeah essentially you are right. I do like to do a lot of repairs and work on my cars myself though. I think this one would have been a pain given the placement of the engine etc.
      I’ve decided to search for a mk1 golf 1.8 20VT instead. Definitely nostalgic for me, massive power capabilities and just great all rounder. Hope you’re loving your 3.2S!

    I dump my oil on my driveway, kills the grass in the middle of the driveway for a while then it comes back even greener as the oil is nothing more than strong fertilizer. There is no place in this small town that excepts it and I am not driving 150 miles round trip to take it to a place to recycle it, then they want to charge you in most places to dispose of it and which is odd because they sell it to recycling centers.
    Another thing I do is use it in my oil heater.
