    Can you do a review and video on how the auto unlock would work? Especially where we need to take a lift (no wifi & cellular network) before we reach our doors.

    Hello, I want to place the August cylinder in the access door to my house, for which it does not have a handle on the outside and it opens directly with the typical key. My lock can be opened completely from the inside by turning the lower handle, that is, the upper and lower latches open. There are 2 turns to completely open the lower latch and 1 extra to open the upper one. In your video, after using the August cylinder, I see that you manually open the upper latch with the handle. I need to know if the August cylinder is capable of doing that, that is, giving 2 turns to open the lower latch and then one extra turn to open the upper latch. Thanks in advance.

    are you not having any issues using the key to open from the outside? If the batteries drained and you can no logner use the August, how are you going to unlock the door?

    Why you insist in use the last size adaptor?. If you remove this last brass adaptor you can use the smart lock fitted to door surface.....

    My door doesn’t have a lever from the outside.
    Can you open the spring latch by key from outside when the smart lock is unlocked?
    Thanks in advance.

      Do you have a picture of your latch, this smart locks turns one round only, if your latch required more than one turn this solution may not work

    How do you remove the faceplate of the cylinder lock?

    • @hometechasia3678
      @hometechasia3678  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a little opening at the bottom usually, use a small screwdriver to give it a lift. It’s a clip on usually

    I was able to installed my lock using this video and the same parts you used. The lock works perfectly with the app and manually. The problem I have is that I can no longer use the key. If I use it i cannot longer take it out, it seems like it is missing half turn to be be back in a position where i can take it out. Because of this I have to take the august lock out and then without the lock the key will completely turn and i will be able to take it out. Do you have this problem too or is it something exclusive of my lock?

      Hi Edgar, I believe this is lock specific. Some lock type need full turns before the key comes out, can you share with us what brand / model of lock you are using?

    • @edgarguzman2319
      @edgarguzman2319 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hometechasia3678 wouldn't this be the same if I am using the same cylinder than you, the Dana lock? The brand of the lock is AKI, I think it is more a local brand, Mexico. But it is practically the same than yours or at least they look exactly the same. I thought that using the same cylinder it would be the same experience than you no matter the brand of the lock as it is the cylinder that turn and allow the key to get about.

      @@edgarguzman2319 I have the same issue as you even while using the lock OP recommended. But I managed to fix it by rotating the inside piece by 180° see 6:15 .

      @@SnotterBoss thanks for the recommendation, I just tried and it was the same result.It seems like no matter what I tried the way my lock is build it needs two turns in the key which August lock doesnt allow it.
