    When you said "Leisure guilt", I felt that. FOMO is definitely something I have to work on in order not to feel guilty when I'm not out taking photos. I also like your last point you make where you say "you don't always have to create art every day to be considered an artist". Love that mentality, thank you 😊

    "Being trampled by cows and being left for nobody to find me". 😂 These are just going from strength to strength, mate. Cracking stuff as usual, shame about the ruins situation. Definitely worth another visit.

      😂😂 you can never be to careful around 40 cows I tell you that! Thanks my man appreciate it a lot! Will definitely have to check that out when it’s not been using for a camping session 😂 looked super cool as well

    That 'Leisure Guilt' thing you talked about is a biggy for me. I feel like I need to be productive and creative all the time. Take today for example. I wanted so much to go out with my camera, but I feel so tired, that I just can't. I need to rest, but I still feel frustrated that I stuck at home 'resting'!

    • @DISTANTMEDIA
      @DISTANTMEDIA  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I hear you mate it’s a real struggle isn’t it! Even if I have a hour I feel like I have to fill it with a productive creative task.. keep telling yourself a rest is just as productive because you come back re charged and re inspired after a rest! 🙌

    Thanks so much for the advice Greg! I often find myself thinking that "I should have gone out shooting today" and then I quickly release myself from that and I go out on my own whim. This keeps me enjoying shooting. My recent trip to the Smoky Mountains found me snapping lots of images and I then posted a video of the trip. I haven't posted a video in quite some time, but this one was fun. Thanks again for your advice.

      Always my pleasure Jon, thanks for tuning in! I will head over and check your video out as soon as I can, sounds like a dream photo trip to somebody over here in grey old England 😂👍

      @@DISTANTMEDIA LOL!!! It was pretty grey there for most of the trip. I did get a couple of good shots of a coyote through the leaves. You guys have things that I would love to shoot in the same way that we have things that you guys would love to shoot. I'm guessing that the grass just seems greener on the other side.

      @@joncothranphotography9375 yeah so true, we always want to shoot what’s not directly accessible to us, which isn’t always a bad thing (shows we don’t want to just take the same images over and over) loved those Coyote images!

    So much great advice in this video mate, really well presented too! Especially like that idea of a priority list - i've definitely tried to find a bit of focus for my photography over the last few months! And don't sweat the photography, some nice shots in this video bud! 👌🏻📸

      Cheers Chris lad! When we have so many things to juggle you have to be okay with a major focus and a ‘later’ focus 🤣 appreciate that mate hope you have a class weekend down there!

    A good episode Greg. Lots of good points put forward. There is a lot of Bollocks talked on you tube for sure, about doing things this way and that way. However if you do that, you'll end up with photographs that are done to please someone else's ideals. Art is subjective, photography is Art (The RA says so). Constable painted in a boring way IMO, but Turner was the man. Be true to yourself, learn your craft then get out of the bloody box, because creativity rocks.

      @DISTANTMEDIA  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Exactly mate, does your photography have any life left in it, if you have taken photos based off of how somebody else told you to take them. Probably not a lot haha. -- Enjoying your feedback on the videos mate, thanks for taking the time out of your days to watch through them!!

    • @DISTANTMEDIA

      @@iaincphotography6051 I’d never really say avoid anywhere, because you can get something unique anywhere if you try hard enough. Haven’t been down that way since I was a young lad so don’t know it photography wise really!

    Great tips and advice, particularly regarding highlights and shadows at the ruin. If I may so brave and offer some advice back, don't sing....Ever! Your attempt at The Long and Winding Road was one of the worst cases of musical murder I have witnessed.
