He has been a Musician & Songwriter and he is one of the best guitar players in the world, also he is a multi-instrumentalist- playing the Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, Clarinet and can do the programming in the computer engineering of recording. The genres of \m/ Romeo has played since he started in 1994 are Progressive Metal/ Power Metal/ Symphonic Metal & Neoclassical Metal. He is one of the founding members of Symphony X. In 2018, Romeo announced the release of his full-length solo album called "War Of The Worlds/ Pt 1." I really appreciate Mike's skills compositionally and as an instrumentalist and I was expecting this new cd to be instrumental.?? . I have to say I am a tad disappointed with what I have heard of this new work...It's not really floating my boat. Mike is the best out there in his chosen field by a country mile and for a guy that could also write killer film scores...well I guess I was hoping for something along those lines. Fingers crossed!

Mike kills it as he always does ... but I’m not following closely enough to understand why this (solo album) was necessary and how this is really any different than the Symphony X stuff?
It seems like more of an outlet to play with other musicians and explore writing, riffing styles, and orchestral themes that would be outliers on a normal Symphony X record.
Michael Romeo said Russell was so upset over the wreck with Adrenaline Mob that he needed some time away, but he did say that they would all get back together when the time is right!
