Believe from Michael Romeo's first official solo release 'War Of The Worlds / Pt. 1'.
LYRICS:
I stand alone
Looking down into the boundless
Deep abyss of night
Mystified
I'm on the edge
Waiting for the hidden dark
To come into the light
Yet the years go by
I never claimed to be your hero
I never claimed to be your fool, oh no
Give it thought and take account
Don't count the days - just make them count
Forgive, for I know not what I do
Believe - do or die
Shed your broken wings and burn the sky
A dream on the rise
Don't ever let them break you down inside
Never finish what you started
Never keep promise that you an't unmake
In failing to plan, you plan to fail
A distant ship without a sail
Forever lost and forever cursed by fate
And I will stand no without compromise?
Or will I fall - falling prey to your lies
Are my demons angels in disguise?
Every saint has a past
Every sinner's future cast absolute
Believe - do or die
Shed your broken wings and burn the sky
A dream on the rise
Don't ever let them break you down inside

I will be forever thankful for being alive when michael romeo has released it's masterpieces. This guy is just phenomenal. His solos are just the most creative and the most virtuosic in the metal genre and possibly ever.
Andrei Milicin amen
Not only that, he is a fantastic composer.
You are dead on, I can't believe people complain because it sounds to much like Symphony X, he's only one human being and nobody in metal does what this man does mostly all by himself writing wise, can't wait for pt 2 and can't wait for the new Symphony X when Russell feels up to doing it again
true history, i agree with u. He's very impressive and virtuous
It is him, and The guitarist in Ancient Bards! (In my opinion).
Very melodic, creative and virtuosic solos! :D
Mr.Castellano is an excellent choice for the vocals on this masterpiece !!!! Bravo well DONE!!!
You're totally right !
I smile with tears in the eyes....EPIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes!!!!! this is a masterpiece, floating in a river of tears and headbanging :)
Best song on the album imo!
at the beginning i didn't like it well, but after several listening, i must admit i like it :) . But still not my fave of the album
yea with Djinn
Michael Romeo..he can look directly in the eyes the most famous guitarist in the world.
Great Musician, complete in everything..!
I think Michael could be the best. But I think he thinks he already is and doesn't need to prove it by giving up all his standards for recognition. Fame is a dangerous drug.
Every time I hear this Solo!! 😲😲😃

Great job, man!!!! Thank you very much!
This is the type of content that I want from Romeo, his composition and orchestration chops are out of this world. I like that this one doesn’t feel like any post “The Odyssey” song, the way I think it happened with some other songs in this album. This one feels like completely new and original content and a side of Romeo that we still don’t know that much. Hopefully he will continue creating music like this.
It is my time to comment that I agree, we need this side of him. Symphony X can thrive into the heavy metal progressive they play, but I expect something different from Romeo.
Yea, I hear ya. This is the only song that stood out to me on the whole album. I was expecting more from Romeo. I think most of the song writing is too generic, lacks more unique progressive and neoclassical elements that I enjoy, and is mostly a remix of modern SX, but more in the style of modern power/heavy metal.
Agree with you. I miss this since last album Symphony X goes to far from composition like this.
Agreed. My favorite song on the album
That solo at 6:04..so on point!
absolute killer solo
This album is The Odyssey 2.0... loved it!!
One of the best on the album. Love the composition and the vocals are probably my favorite on the record. One of the best solos I've heard from Romeo is a while as well. Really has an Odyssey feel to it, in the best way possible. First time listening to this I was grinning the whole time.
Michael Romeo - Amazing Genius!
Beautiful!!
bought the album August 2018, heard it hundreds and hundreds of times, still a pleasure to hear it now ; i really hope a Part 2 will be done
Awesome! Thanks Mr. Romeo
I said to my friend today: hey man, listen to this song, it's a kickass ballad!!! He looked at me like a lunatic: this is a ballad??? somethings wrong with you man...
Anyone who has a problem with this singer needs to get their ears checked. Yes, he's no Russel Allen, but he's so versatile. The harsh vocals he has in songs like Black compared to the melodic vocals he has in this is amazing. The vocals are incredible and they definitely shine in this song, which is my favorite on the record.
I am getting a strong Shadow Gallery vibe from this song, and it is a very good thing.
Romeo did it again
when i listened this song i directly bought the album. The entire album is a masterpiece, absolutly beautiful, even Russel allen is for me the best metal singer all of time , here the vocals are really good! Congratulation castellano.
I’m still holding out hope for a return to duty from SX but, in the meantime, this awesome track - and the album as a whole is essential listening. MR is a genius and a true guitar virtuoso and his writing, arrangements and orchestrations are, genuinely, second to none.
Incredibly! Bravo
Espero vivir lo suficiente, para ver algún a Romeo (Como solista o con Symphony) tocando en vivo con una orquesta, sería tan épico, tan único que.... No tendría precio apreciar eso en vivo.
Singer sounds awesome 👍
Que musica foda. Pq eu nunca ouvi esse cara antes pqp.
Amazing! My favorite guitar player; Mr. Romeo! lml
The epitome of power prog. I love this song
Reminds of the "Divine Wings Of Tragedy" album and "The Oddyssey". Beautiful and virtuosic!
Exceptional album. I have it in original. Great work. Love and big respect for Romeo. The great guitarist of all time !!
Really liking this track. The vocals are excellen. He has a classic sounding voice . Which is a good thing I believe. In the range of Tommy Shaw of Styx.
I think is more similar with Steve Walsh's voice (Kansas).
Apart of the fact that this song has a little influence of Kansas.
The true greatness behind the great "Symphony X" revealed. it is called Michael Romeo! You showed us a million different ways how music can be played.
Fine Romeo 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love this type of prog metal song! Best song of this album!
Damn goosebumps everywhere at the solo, seriously Mickael SERIOUSLY
Best track of the album(very excellent album overall as well). Vocals really shine in this one.
Love this album and I am grateful to hear motifs from Star Trek II and III running through this inspired piece of work!!
Part 2 come on already
In Love with this!!! Until the end of the time.
Best solo ever!
So anyone else hearing bits of Star Wars in there? Its not the complete sound, but my mind fills in the missing notes
Yeah,its "The Force" theme.
I know, right?
Just beautiful, awesome, majestic
congratulations Michael, hi from México..
An epic song, great!
I have been waiting so long for you to do something similar to the odyssey and this is it man. The whole album is truly magnificent.
mestre Michael
Awesome!!
This. Fucking. Guitar. Solo. The whole piece is wonderful and reminds me of V and The Odyssey from Symphony X mixed with a bit of John Williams. Wonderful.
Some say ''Odessey''...I say ''Accolade'' modern version! Fantastic composition!!

@ all the Michaels (Jason & Russell too) in Symphony X: "Love all ya' tunes! Please keep 'em coming!"....
@@jaylebeau7783 uuuufff it hurts
@@Lerock2013 People are too busy worshipping untalented face tatted freaks these days...
@@peterrasmussen68 I blame the major labels not daring to promote talented artists, instead of picking poster boys and girls without talent, then compensating by hiring multiple songwriters for them.
Ordinary people don't care enough about music to seek out the talent, so it's all in the hands of major labels and radio stations.
@@Metalton95 you're right. It's sad that an incredible artist like Romeo has not the fame he deserve. Sadly he's growing up, years after years, and we are missing potential stuff like DVDs, blue rays, concert with an orchestra, ecc...
That's actually the second solo record he made, the first being " The dark chapter", wich also is out of this world.
Soundtrack for the next dark Knight movie!!!
Dont like Yngwie’s later stuff, but somehow, besides being prog, Romeo reminds me of Yngwie in his solos, tighter obviously. Early Yngwie albums are stepping stone to many soloists.
This album reminds me of Odyssey. And i mean primarily the cinematic overdubs.
The vocals grew on me so much, i’m way pleased and coaxed of the vocal choice.
Star Wars
Davis Vasconcellos exactly 🤟🏻
Dream Theater too!
Sometimes I think soundtracks from old movies like the beast master had a big influence on Romeo
Very reminiscent of The Odyssey
What a sooong ....
Que hermosa letra e intrumental muy similar a mi composición musical que hice hace unos añitos atrás. Los demonios en nuestro interior son los únicos que limitan nuestros sueños y talentos. Hazlo o Perece de una vez. Master Romeo.
We need lyrics!
The best song from the album.
Wow this guy alone can write better music than a certain 5 piece band has been putting out lately!
No Im not talking about SX.
Pinhead loves this song.... Raiser of hell it is....
Why dislikes? I dont understand that! :/
What's that "Under a Glass Moon" style with the short breaks between notes called?
Staccato?
Dream Theater vibes!
Sup The Force Theme
6:03
In this album, Romeo alone put Dream Theater to its knees.
Bow to your God! Lol
Nope lol, its a copy paste from the last DT album and some SW scores :D..but good nevertheless.
I love Dream theater from 2003 back, but Romeo smokes Petrucci in songwriting creativity, I'm still hoping Dream Theater has another good album in them ,but Petrucci has got to step up his game and stop writing songs just to show off how technical he is, everybody knows that band has great musicians but they used to write great songs like Romeo still does
Yep. I was just kidding in fact. I love DT, yet I don't think it is better than symphony X, and in this work, Romeo killed it. DT and Symphony X are the best progressive bands.
But let's agree in one thing, LaBrie is nothing compared to Rick Castellano or Sir Russell Allen that is a monstrosity. I like Labrie, but not on this level.
sandman BS
Nothing compared to Fates' Theories of Flight.
Does Romeo singing?
Is Sebastian Bach singing?
The closest we've got to Accolade III
The closest we've got to The Odyssey Part 2 xd
@@Cotramjoxxx I miss their 10+ minute tracks, even with thin production compared to 2007-> productions :(
Much better than the last Symphony X releases, I hope they bring back again that sound. I don´t see why is not there Russel Allen, is the voice that Mr. Romeo style needs, this singer is lame for this style, way comercial almost pop.
The voice is dupled
@Jan 🤌
Star wars metal
Amazing, but Michael Romeo with Symphony X band is better and really best band EVER!
what if michael romeo and yngwie and michael angelo batio together on stage
and Sir John Petrucci !!!!
Angelo could pour drinks behind the stage
BANGer
Too close to Star Wars' opening theme, man. Too close.
Sounds like it could have been a left over song from the odyssey
STAR WARS :))
just waiting for "mal reynolds" to reply.
;)
C heeheehee
This entire album just sounds like "Symphony X The Odyssey" bonus tracks.
This music sounds 8bit
"How to release Star Wars Suite as your own song without being sued"
Mal Reynolds very very well said sir!!
Wtf?
Singer sounds like labrie(not a compliment)
He doesn't sound like Labrie at all!
Timeless song, no doubt!
