He's touring again. Is on Twitter and has a website. Bloody brilliant. I remember when he walked onstage as Jarvis at a Cardiff gig. The applause went on for over four minutes before he'd even started !
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I love any help you can give me!
@Phoenix Chaim Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@LaughingPsycho Newman is still going, I saw him a couple of years back on the Bill Bailey 'Part Troll' (tour I think it was) though he now tends to do more writing than stand up. I do agree though, for me Newman was the better of the two...
Its true...Rob Newman was definitely the funnier of the two...its a shame he didn't carry on more solo comedy...but I think it was more because he wanted out of the treadmill and wanted to do more political, socially conscious stuff as well as pursue his writing rather than whore himself out like certain other BAD-Deal comics we could mention...
Very funny. I'd forgotten about this character from the MWE series. It's funny how you remember the Hugh Dennis's Milky Milky character and the dad who can't dance character, even though they weren't funny, but you forget funnier characters created in the series.
It's a shame Rob Newman's career didn't seem to take of by itself in the way David Baddeil's did. Rob was likable and amusing while Baddeil was just simplistic and obnoxious. Sadly, meaning that Baddeil had better primetime TV credentials.
Rob Newman wasn't really comfortable with the fame of the Mary Whitehouse Experience and preferred to be away from the limelight doing his own thing rather than what maintained his popularity. Baddiel's team up with Frank Skinner in making the Fantasy Football Show turned out to be a very smart career move.
Not really. Stewart Lee is funnier altogether, but Rob tries to educate much more. His stand up these days is a mix of down to earth stand up and educational lectures. Mark Thomas is funnier though.
David Badiel was one of the two rubbish ones from the Mary Whitehouse Experience (the other being Steve Punt) and I assume only survived post break up with Rob Newman, because he was carried by Frank Skinner. @SimonJenkin....the only funny thing Stewart Lee did was write for the 'Time Gentlemen Please' sitcom. His comedy vehicle show currently on is awful and unfunny.
I based my entire life around this man. :D
I met Rob Newman in 1997 at one of his gigs. He spoke to me for about half an hour after the show, and was extremely nice. Oooohhhh God.
How very interesting...

So long since I've seen Jarvis. More of this fine man must be uncovered.
...
Oh god.
I love him ❤
I live in Stoke-on-Trent! :'(
I remember Rob being interviewed and they asked how far was Jarvis from the real Rob Newman and he said "Disturbingly not that far".

Thank you so much, you really help me out!
@Apollo Alaric you are welcome xD
Ha, brings back memories that!
BRILLIANT
To this day if we're on the road and we see a signpost to Stoke on Trent we always have to shout out "Bent!"
Good God. I remeber this when it was on TV. It's still funny as f**k
classic, love it!
Great character from Newman & Badiel 😂
Genius
Here's a later piece in the series - enjoy!
I guess Im a Stoke-on-T.Rent Boy? :D
I don't want to come over all Prince Charles... Ohh God!
Lmao at the end

it's always better to get your comments censored anyway. i always prefer to read them ones hahaha.
This charactor was brilliant and sadly way under used.
Excellent'
Shame that it's bloody Baddiel that's still going.

How wrong is it that I'm from Stoke-on-Trent and find this deeply erotic? *blush*

He is sooo creepy 🤭🤭🤭

They worked real well together.
