Just did this today, pretty straightforward, although the clips around the bumper cover were a lot harder to get out. That took the most time, but everything else was just easy bolt on!

Regarding the plastic rivets it's real easy to press in the center pin, and then just remove the rivet.

what about electrics such as turn signal and break lights?

Good question! If you have the 2012 X5 like in the video you can choose between a couple harnesses: www.etrailer.com/t1-2012_BMW_X5.htm. If you don't like to splice wires your best bet is the Tekonsha ZCI www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/Tekonsha/119250KIT.html.

Can I tow a car like a bmw 335i with that hitch?

Yes, both the Curt # 13077 hitch and the 2012 BMW X5 itself are capable of towing the approximate 3500 lb weight of a BMW 335i. However, you'll want to check with BMW to ensure that the 335i is capable of being flat towed without being damaged.

@etrailer yes, it can be flat towed.. just wasn't sure even after mods and a tune if my x5 could safely pull a car.. without the hitch bending or breaking.. I will order a kit soon then
