    I will keep repeating myself. It's great when someone can demonstrate a synth by playing keys, with musical intention, and good taste

    • @wakerickman

      hi sasarasa88, totaly aggree, ive made that same comment on many yuoutube videos, most synth demonstratoes just set up a squencer/appagiator [ and mearly twist knobs ] and dont demonstrate what, in my opinion is what a mono synth was originaly dsighned for, eg the minimoog was desighned so that a keyboard player could rival a guitar solo, so if you are into synth solos you might like my channell "carl aylward" where i demonstrate original [ even the few videos that do play proper solos are normaly covers , like by rick wakeman etc. ] proper lead line improvised solos, which is rare on you tube, one video is a static moving picture video, the other a normal moving video featureing the behringer modal D, , and make a comment if you wish to . cheers. carl

      Honestly, as much as I desperately wanted one of these I decided to wait because I figured my music didn’t really need one. If I had known that’s it’s actually capable of making music, instead of just epic droning blares, maybe I would have one already.

    • @sasarasa88
      @sasarasa88 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      As I see it, it is a serious monosynth that you can greatly expand with eurorack modules. So yes, good for all kind of noises but equally capable for tones and melodies. I am actually having a blast creating tones on it and sampling them for playing like a polyphonic synth

    You kind of forget how beautiful and organic and human synths can sound, don't you. This more has the feeling of watching someone play violin or something than a Terminator repeatedly punching a dubstep drop into your face.

    This sounds amazing. Very 1970s documentary vibe. The grandmother is one of my greatest gear purchases ever. I love it. I’ve been thinking about what to pair with it, and I feel like for a poly synth I would need something like a Prophet 5 for this kind of pure tone. Hoping the Take 5 might be an option, but may have to look at the Prophet 5 or 6 modules.

    I started synth recently, and your demo sold me to Moog : So much presence a single mono synth can have (with a competent player ^^) ! And the interface, from what I can see here, looks "natural" (so to speak). My newly acquired Minilogue XD feels boring and cold next to the Grandmother.
    But I'm also interested in a Mother-32 (mostly because of its sequencer) and I wonder which one should I get first... Preferences are still in a strict 50/50 at this point.
    So I decided to get more knowledge and experience with what I already have (Minilogue XD, Boutique JU-06A) the time I choose (the interface, filter, *yummy colors* (yes !) of the Grandmother, or the sequencer and compactness of the Mother-32).

    first introduction to your channel. beautiful! this is the first moog I've actually ever wanted. such timbres! reminds me, at times, of the minibrute & arp odyssey. or vice versa. honesty, really enjoy your playing & the style of the video in general. that plucked sound when you slow the arpeggiator. gosh.

    To say that Moog synthesizers are well known is like saying McDonald’s sells a few burgers every year. Moog synths are pretty much a must-have in the music industry and it shows with the Grandmother.

    What are your thoughts on the Grandmother after all these years? For me, the design is close to perfect. Just the right amount of controls for what you need, without any excess. Beautiful sound and ergonomically laid out design in my book!
