Ashleigh you are always fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you can go to graceland dollywood, haunted hotels of just be home gettin crunk on pickle juice puttin salt on pizza and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I said this on Instagram but we went in 2011 and we still talk about it. I agree it feels so cozy and like a real home inside. Great energy there. But also… sad to see Lisa Marie and her son’s graves 😢. Great tour. ❤❤❤
I can't get over the statement at 3:42 that that is the original tinsel from when Elvis was alive. The poor person who has to "preserve the tinsel" for next year.
Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of Elvis, but I choked up! I forgot he died at Graceland - and was buried there - and that Lisa Marie also died and was buried next to him. And, I thought it was SO SPECIAL to see his Christmas stuff. I would definitely go in December - it looks amazing.
It is good to remember and understand that he could have lived anywhere he wanted to. This place just ment to him so much. He thoght that this is for his mama and papa.❤❤❤
Glad you got a chance to experience Graceland, especially at Christmas. The house is actually not decorated as when Elvis died. In 1974 Elvis, with helped of Linda Thompson, redecorated the living room with dramatic French Provencal furniture, INCLUDING red carpets and velvet furniture with satin draperies to match. It appeared more like a bordello than it did a home. When they decided to open Graceland as a tourist destination, the decor was reverted back to its original classic look of the 50-60s. It was the right move because the other was gaudy to say the least. Not all of the Christmas decorations in the front yard are original decorations used by Elvis. The "Merry Christmas to All - Elvis" and the Santa sleigh are original and I believe he paid around $300 for it at the time. The nativity scene on display today is not original, but to keep with tradition they incorporated a new nativity scene for the season because that is what Elvis wanted as the focal point of the decorations.
Thanks Ashleigh. I remember well hearing that Elvis had died. It was about 7am here in Australia and I was getting ready for work. I had the radio on and it came over the radio that he had a heart attack and was dead. I ran and woke my mother and we listened to the radio news flashes. Later they broadcast his funeral live on TV for us. There were thousands of people outside the gates. And I cried.
I took the family there last August, and we had to shelter in place in the Trophy room because a tornado was rolling through. I sat staring at his turquoise handled pistol and his wallet for an hour listening to tree limbs come down in his yard. For a few minutes I thought it was possible I might die in a pile of Elvis' awards at his house, and that there were worse ways to go out, but then it moved along and we're all still here. Got a ton of great pictures though. You should have a travel channel. You're perfect for it. Thanks for this video. Graceland is stunning, and I know that feeling you had when you walked in the front door. It's electric, all the small hairs stand straight up. 😊
Elvis Presley is my eighth cousin it is true because he was native American Cheerokee Indian and i am to. And the person he was related to was an Indian woman name morning dove. So because of her i am related to him.
When my mom remodeled our kitchen, she had carpet put in. "I don't scrub floors" was her statement. With the kind of carpet it was, spills really weren't the issue you'd think they'd be.
Watching This Makes Me Sad In A Way Cause I Have Always Loved Elvis, Graceland And His Entire Story And Always Have Wanted To Visit. One Day Soon! You Are Fersure Blessed. I Like How You Really Enjoyed Every Bit Of It. I’m Sure Elvis Smiled When You Entered. I Think I Might Cry or Pass Out If I Entered His House. I Loved The New Elvis Bi-Op Movie. It Really Put You In Graceland And His Life. Thanks.
Merry Christmas!! One of my favorite movie reactors. Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday season. Thanks for putting part of yourself out there for us to enjoy. Take care and God Bless.
On Elvis Birthday there is a week of Elvis and Graceland festivities in Parkes, Australia and the place is booked out. If anyone outside Australia heads there just so U know it's a 7 hour train ride west of Sydney and 99% of the hotels are in town not far from the train station. ....There is two special Elvis trains you can go on with entertainers but U pay a lot for tickets on these OTHERWISE catch the train the day before. There are other train rides to Parkes without travelling on The Elvis trains.
Christmas at Graceland! Gonna be hard to top this one, Ashley. I know I speak for everyone when I say we all anxiously await the return of the King! I remember listening to the Elvia Sirius station after Lisa Maria passed and when they played the duet version of "Never Stand Alone" I absolutely bawled. And I was in the parking lot of a Whole Foods.
Ashleigh, you little festive angle, as a life long fan of Elvis from the Uk , I been fortunate to have visited Graceland 4 times over the years and my first time was really open to the public. Hope you enjoyed your time
This is really interesting because I never really took the time to see what the inside of Graceland looked like, & it isn't nearly as over the top as I had expected it to look.
Ashleigh thank you for giving us the tour of Graceland the home of the king of rock and roll. I really don't know what else to say about this video I like the little short clips at the end and they were very interesting. I wish you would bring back the whole indoor water feature and waterbed I agree with that you could ask show us how you would do it in your home. As always Ashleigh thank you for the entertainment and hope to see you in the next year.
There’s a few discrepancies and misinformation here but, I’m glad to see the UVIP tour. Thank you for that. Jerry Lee Lewis didn’t go over all the time. He was not close with Elvis besides business. He drove into the gates of Graceland drunk one. Ight because, Elvis avoided him and that was one out of many times. He told his uncles not to let him in and say he was gone
The “ actual” seat of power in the US. For decades and decades. I will always miss him. Thanks, Ashley. I haven’t been to Graceland since 2006. So much has changed. I must go again before I go to join him . I’m sure he’s been waiting for me.
I think Graceland has a virtual tour option still available. Angie Marchese, the V.P. of archives would do them. So if you physically can't visit, this may be worth it to you.
Priscilla Presley in the 60s and 70s is the most beautiful woman in the world. She IS my beauty idol. The dark hair and blue eyes were breath taking. Their home is interesting. Not my style, but to each their own.
4:34 if you ever have the time and the chance, go down to Tupelo and see the birthplace museum. They’ve got the actual two room shack Elvis was born and raised in. It is wild to see Graceland and all the cars and the planes and diamond studded jewelry and then see that little place. It was so small I could just about touch opposite walls at the same time.
Love how Ashleigh keeps the same introduction for the second channel. Elvis was/is the King. Graceland was/is his Kingdom. Thanks for taking us along on the journey.
This doesn't feel like a place where children could even breathe w/o getting in trouble. In the late 1960s I was a kid living across the street from a funeral home where my Dad worked. This video of Elvis' home takes me back. I remember Dad's workplace used to have stained glass, carpeted floors & indoor water features. There's a website of what the funeral home looks like today. It's been brought into the 21st century. I wasn't allowed inside where Dad worked w/o adult supervision & I wasn't allowed to touch anything. Visitors there to pay their respects to the dearly departed were not always as respectful to the carpeted floors, stained glass & indoor water features. Back then the world wasn't kid proofed. 8:22 Good riddance to all that nonsense.
BTW when I said before that the funeral home near where I lived and where my Dad worked was "brought into the 21st century" what I mean is the carpeting is gone. Linoleum and wood paneling everywhere instead. No stained glass or anything that looks so expensive if a relative of a dead person broke it they'd have to double the cost of using the funeral home. No complicated indoor water fixtures. What used to be dangerous for me to even step foot in when I was in single digits? That place is immaculate now. Safe. Secure. Nothing dangerous. It's kidproofed. Problem with that is what used to look a lot like Elvis Presley's home? Now looks like a hospital lobby. The glamor is replaced by fifty years of learning from mistakes.
LMK if you ever want to go back to Colorado, go over one of the world’s highest suspension bridges, stay in another haunted hotel, visit a haunted maximum security prison & go river rafting… That’s in MY hometown of Cañon City. (She says proudly!) 😊😂
You 100% would kill it as a travel type show host. Graceland kinda looks like what a poor person's idea of what a rich person would make their house look like
The Presleys were living in public housing just a couple of years before Elvis bought Graceland. Also, the way the home is decorated now is an amalgamation of eras spanning the 20 years Elvis lived there, with most of the focus being the mid-60s to early-70s when Priscilla lived there.
hey Ashleigh merry christmas ( or as New Zealand Māori say - Meri Kirihimete) hope you and Hubbin, Beans other cat/kitten and puppy (apologies for not knowing their names) have the best time ever... thank you for the amazing reactions all year long 🌼

@awkwardashleigh2 I have been Graceland and I had fun but then suddenly our van broke down but it was worth it.
Elvis is a legend. Merry Christmas to all fans around the world ❤❤
Honestly as a musician and sound type person, i want carpet everywhere too. His house probably sounded amazing
He recorded there late in his career.

GRACELAND the only home ELVIS
loved and cherished.
He purchased for his mom Gladys 1957 when he was 22, she passed 17 mo later in 1958.
Oh, what I'd give to visit Graceland. I live in Australia and adore Elvis. All my life I've loved him. What a great video. You're so lucky!
Glad you got a chance to experience Graceland, especially at Christmas.

Many years ago they painted the gate pink and the music notes green. They also had a pink jeep that went back and forth to carry the guards
By the way, the stained glass peacock panels cost $9345. The receipt is in the Trophy room.
I love Elvis so much! My dream is to go to Graceland
So many fond memories here as a kid. I took a photo in front of his pink Cadillac
He had three tv’s so he could watch ALL the channels. Different days.
ElVIS had the 3 TV so he could watch
different stations
at the same time, he was a big football fan
The jungle room is famous. He actually recorded some albums there.
Christmas at Elvis’s Home would be a Dream!!!! Rip E. ❤❤❤
