Those weren't suckers. They were fallfish. The first 2 sunfish were redbreast sunfish. The third was a green sunfish/bluegill hybrid.

Here in Kentucky we call them Creek Chubs, i've caught the biggest and most bass whie using them live. Also, flatheads go crazy for it. They're so popular here that you can sell them for $3 per chub

They also make good crawfish bait if you cut them up and use them in traps
@@1Rod1ReelFishing You have to use one of the bubble aerators. Then they will stay alive pretty much all day.
@1Rod1ReelFishing just get a minnow trap and use bread as bait. Super easy to catch them quick and in abundance

We called them creek chubs and used to use seine net where one person on each side of the creek drags the net. We used them for bait and they work great.

Creek chubs can live where nothing else does.
Lots of chubs means little of anything else in my experience.
Also, you're using some of the worst baits unless you WANT to catch chubs and sunfish.
Well the M60 was called "The Pig" and the soldiers that fired those weapons said that the muzzle flash looked like a rooster tail. Since the govt probably wont let you use M60 for the name of the rooster tail. Maybe something with a play off of "The Pig" but i havent figured out how to make that work quite yet. i will get back to you. thinking as i type kind of thing right now lol
Suckers do live in healthy creeks, but those were not white suckers, let alone hog hose suckers. Suckers don’t that lures. They are bottom feeders and you must use worms.

It's a beaver plooshing the water I bet ,I did the exact same thing ,I anitally though someone was throwing a rack,until I actually saw it after the umpteenth time it happened on several fishing trips.they are basically warning you to get away,never had an attack or anything but is true.
Those lower wires were Communications (cable, phone internet etc) totally harmless. The power wires are kept up top. Usually just wire with no rubber jacket.

Next time you snag a bait 1 rod and it’s close but to deep to get real your rod all the way in so the fishing pole tip is connecting to your bait and you should be able to wiggle right out easy very helpful tip in my opinion

Love that creek fishing Man! I fish an urban creek way upstream part of 4 mile in Arlington Va, and regularly see a 3 foot plus eel in this one hole. I don't want to catch Him, but there are always four or so species sharing the hole. Usually Suckers, another species of minnow, and red breast and gills.

@@1Rod1ReelFishing No definitely an American eel, 4 mile run where you were catching epic goldfish by rt.1 has like 12 low water dams now, but before they finished that there were lots of eels in the deep holes all the way up to Lubber run below George Mason drive near Ballston! Now you rarely see them.

You should call the in line spinner "the sucker spinner"
lots of thoughts about this video. 1) that's not a sucker. it's prob a chub or a fallfish. 2) name for that spinner? how about...panther martin? 3) anthropomorphising a fish is kinda weird. 4) that shirt is cool, and i want one. 5) agree, that is one of the coolest sunfish i've seen in a while too. 6) think a bit about why you caught mostly chubbs and sunnie with a few tiny bass. my guess is, there are VERY few fish that are 12" or bigger in there. in order for a bass to get past 12" he needs enough mid sized prey to sustain it's size. on top of that, the places in that creek where it can survive are relatively small. it might be bigger than a fish tank, but it still has the stunting effect. due in part to it's small size and mostly shallow depth, another factor is probably predators like the coon tracks you saw, and herons/cranes, also snakes. 7) good video, in your own way, you're the most persistent googan. you aren't afraid of workin.

Lol funny story mike. As a kid I tripped and fell over that concrete wall lol. There’s a ton of good creeks out there. Drive the 15 minutes to elk ridge and fish the creek there by the town sign. Full of bass. EC for life. Glad you haven’t changed since HS
