The job of the manager is to put the best possible team on the field every day, every inning, to put the team in the best position to win. Also, to deal with what is in front of you, and worry about tomorrow's game tomorrow. Mendoza needs work in this area. A WC race demands this. Every game matters.

The bunt idea isn't bad BUT... you have to know which players can do it correctly. I'm from Puerto Rico and the baseball leagues here they bunt in basically every inning. By putting someone to bunt who isnt good it adds more pressure to the hitter. Plus, McNiel has a hot bat.

We don't have a GO TO guy in the bullpen for pitching like there's no tomorrow, which is what you need in a wc race, EVERY GAME matters. We need a Tug McGraw-esque performance form SOMEONE going down the stretch, BUT for innings 7 and 8. Of course we have Diaz for the 9th. Stanek, who was billed as a "flame thrower" has been disappointing. Brazoban as well. Maton has been doing well, but only in situations where the Mets are down by a run or tw, and you need someone to hold the opponent scoreless for an inning or two. So who does this leave? Should we wait for Nunez? I don't trust that option. There is only 1 option: BUTTO! The guy was a starter - come on! If he pitches 2 innings one day, I can't see why he can't pitch 2 innings the next day, just monitor his pitch count. We need Butto to be our Tug McGraw for 2024.

it’s INFURIATING that in 2 days the only bullpen arm we’ve used was Butto. So a fully rested bullpen couldn’t give us 3 scoreless innings. Ridiculous.

Mets starting rotation for next season: Senga, Severino(re-signed), Peterson, and we look for new 4 and 5 starters. If Manaea wants to opt out, let him, and I don't want Jose 3-2 Quintana. Package Jose in a deal with Baty and a few others for a quality starter or bat.

It's ok. Let them call up Baty whenever they like, and hopefully he gets showcased for a trade.

Soe people say it was ok to have McNeil bunt because he cannot turn on a Faucher fastball. I'm skeptical of that claim.

Mendoza’s biggest mistake this series was using Butto in game 1 with a 4 run lead instead of saving him, we needed him game 3. Butto’s in this awkward position where he’s our long reliever but also our best reliever which isn’t too common, so Mendoza has him eating up garbage innings which is not the move.

I disagree with the way that Butto is being used. He's our best reliever right now, and we need him out there as many times as possible.

If ALvarez is hurt, he should not play. If Alvarez is on pain medication, can that be managed more strategically??

Mets can randomly show up against the good teams now. This team is illogical, strength of schedule almost never matters.
