came back after some testing. it seems some bow doesnt work with pet attacking. it will force you into your offhand or bare hand Without tender pots or Zebach, Chronicles is an option for bows. Go to the monolith with the 3 mages and autp attack the monolith. it only takes 1% of your dmg but should be enough to 100 prof before it dies (remember to remove anything that can inflict bleed) 2 soliders will agro you at most but you can get them stuck easily behind obstacles nearby
It does work with bows on humans, are you perhaps an elf? The functionality of attacking with ranged weapons while mounted on a pet is disabled completely for elves (bows, shurikens, and guns fall under this category). The only workaround is to use a human character as far as I know. I noticed it also switches if you try without an arrow, so might need to equip an arrow with the bow for it to not autoswitch.

Maybe about half of the gamers will be switching to Linux Mint real soon and so I don't think Mabinogi Eternal will ever happen now. Sad news.
