Rest in peace Ray ❤
If it wasn't for his passing, he really had the potential to become the next big bad guy... His theme alones gives me so many chills.
The way he acts his character feels almost similar to Thrawn... Calm, chilling, patient, but at the same time threatening.
Great actor who like every other great one who passed definitely deserved another day! 😢
I love how he fights. Using the lightsaber as if it were a longsword. Large, heavy swings. That relentlessly beat into his opponents lightsaber. Rather than using speed, he pulls from power.
Based
Baylan could probably match Vader in terms of physical might.
We've only had a few minutes of screentime with him, yet he's already trounced the villains of the sequel trilogy in my eyes. Such a presence to him 😊
No offense, but no villain in this show so far has surpassed kylo ren
It’s just sad we won’t be able to see more of the actor who played Baylan Skholl anymore. Ray Stevenson died early this year.
@@alexheisenberg8709honestly, Kylo Ren hasn’t really done much to compare to just about anyone. He’s an inconsistent antagonist and a weak character.
@@D4C_Gaming kylo ren is the most consistent character in the sequel trilogy. He is bad, but he is conflicted, and we see glimpses of it all the time. The way his conflict affects the plot and the character of rey is something we've never seen with such depht in the saga. And we can understand his character, he is not bad just because the dark side turn him evil, he had good reasons to betray his uncle and parents despite snoke turned him. Also, he managed to overthrone his master and for a while was the biggest threat in the galaxy.
@@D4C_Gaming on the other hand, we don't know much about baylan yet. He sure is a hell of a character, but he hasn't reached a similar level of complexity and depht than kylo. We literally have no idea why he turned to the dark side and why he is currently helping imperials
He’s been on screen for like 5 minutes and already I find him to be a far more compelling and badass villain than Kylo Ren.
Chill out, we're not there yet xd. Kylo in his first film was way more compelling and complex than every sith in the prequels (except vader). Is hard to surpass that. I have faith in baylan, he is interesting, but kylo is still the goat 🙌
@@alexheisenberg8709this must be a troll joke comment. Kylo is one of the worst villains lol
@@alexheisenberg8709 😂😂😂 sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night
@@AJ20236 let me guess, you don't like his anger issues?
Kylo Ren is a very good villain😁
Baylan is proof that Disney can make a good villain they just flat-out refuse to
Villain may not quite be what I'd call him. Antagonist for sure, though not quite villain, at least not yet anyway. Still a damn good character though, easily the best in the show.
The opening scene with him and shin hati has been one of my favourite sequences of the show so far. Especially for the high notes of the piano, giving it an air of a horror movie.🙌
I wish we had that track released and expanded on.
Omg I been wanting to hear that kind of music in Star wars and seeing it then was the perfect moment
Piano made it feel like a dark souls boss in star wars
@@theartsmalec Dude is literally Gwyn but cooler.
Baylon and Thrawn ooze deadly elegance. Naturally such would be present in both of their themes. Would LOVE to see a mash-up of the two someday. 😍
The actor passed away 😢
Thrawn looks like a divorced suburban dad who isn't allowed to see his kids and started drinking too much as a result. But Baylan is cool as fuck!
“What happens when we find Thrawn?
For some war!
For others a new beginning!
And for us?
POWER!!! Like you never dreamed of!”
-Baylan Skoll
I just wish this guy could see how we fans love his character man. Its so tragic.
Interesting and charismatic villain!
P.s.: maybe it's a coincidence, but Ray Stevenson (RIP) incredibly resembles Emperor Valkorion from The Old Republic ... how about it Jamie, do you want to try to pay homage to him by combining the musical themes of these two Villains? 😉
Thanks ...
hm...🤔🤔🤔
I really hope this video doesn't get taken down, being posted so early! Baylan's theme is amazing, he feels like a second Maul/Dooku to me.
The duel of the fates finale is great
I feel like he is the best portrait villain I waited for so long.
bruh it’s so tragic fr😭 bless u Ray hope u seeing this
❤ a tribute to Ray Stevenson ❤ Rest in Glory ❤
Rest in Power general.
This character can be safely placed above all the legends of the past and the first users of force. He is strong not in his strength and fighting form, but in his mind and intelligence. His position is the most correct, he is the right thing to say that the Jedi, the Sith and other military powers do not bring peace to the galaxy, they bring pain, suffering and bloodshed to the peaceful citizens of the galaxy. The Jedi do not help the peaceful people, the council does not care about those who live in poverty, for that they promote senators and other people with status. Droids only bring additional soldiers on the planets because of their stupid managers. The Sith kill and slaughter the common population without a choice in life. Clones protect their own but at the same time abandon ordinary citizens, helping only separately from the Jedi council. Although the Empire gives people water and food and a home, it makes slaves out of people who must work in factories or in the army. And the rebels simply cause explosions and they can in fact call themselves terrorists because, at their suggestion, civilians come to them and they then die because of the command. Baylan Skoll is the one who said that there is no good in war, there is only pain. He is not a villain and he’s not a hero, he just wants peace and quiet in the galaxy, to save the people from these powers that are only ruining everything. Learn, everyone, including Lucas, how to write characters with a soul.
“Hunt them down.”
Interessting mix of Duel Of The Fates, Roge One and new elements.
General Skoll ✊️😔
this is an extremely epic cover of an already epic theme. well done
o7 Ray you will be missed
Ray stevenson does look like valkorion MAYBE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CASTED AS VALKORION FOR AN EVENTUAL OLD REPUBLIC SHOW
Unfortunately, he died in May of this year :( hence the tribute on the first episode of Ahsoka
This is beautiful and haunting but also very elegant and intense! Great job
Considering we've not really heard any specific music tied to Baylan, this is still great! I love the violins at the start and that duel of the fates at the end was 🔥
Baylen has music from ep 1 beginning with piano
Love his light saber technique
Absolutely phenomenal
A tribute worthy to Ray Stevenson. RIP
No doubt Filoni did his research again. Break down Shin and Baylan's surnames, Skoll and Hati, the wolves of Norse mythology who chased the Sun and Moon to signify Ragnarok. Even their first names have a translation, Shin's case yes, deriving from Japanese, likely in this context meaning New, rather than God. Baylan means Shaman, according to the Philipines.
Rest in peace Ray, his performances coupled with the way this character is written makes me feel like we had the potential of an absolute all timer of a villain on our hands. Gone but never forgotten. What a performance to leave us with! ❤
Please make the first scene of ep 1
This is perfect man
Most unfortunate series Ahsoka.. we won't be able to see more of Baylan Skoll anymore 😢
Rip Ray
I miss Ray every day
I was searching for this....
The 0:43 riff sounds so similar to the last portion of Modest Mouse's The Stars Are Projectors. Am I the only one catching that??
What a epic Remix of the Dakt Knight and Rouge One
He reminds me Cidolfus Orlandeau from Final Fantasy tactics
For our friend Ray
I want that intro/hallway scene theme.
He carried this dead ass show
RIP Ray
It sounds a lot like Legend of Korra at 0.15
This guys knows his shit.

Please do Shin Hati
Reminds me of Mass Effect, and I like Mass Effect.
Filoni should have directed the sequel trilogy. Converge the Rebels and RotJ story threads
Dude could have been a sequel trilogy villain
Is that why you abandoned him 🤔
Is there a way to purchase said music?
Yo baylon and shin or fukn awesome. Way better than the grand inquisitor and the other villain chick(forgot her name) in the obi wan series
Baylan Skoll and his theme are the only good things that came out this serie (Shin Hati was also a nice addition)
Valkorion
Only character worth a damn in ahsoka show
Not gonna lie, this is one of the most generic sounding bad guy songs I’ve ever heard
Stop trying to use irrelevant important people for propaganda purposes. I assume nothing. It's also rude and tactless
