Are the malls owned by the government in Canada Or are they privately owned? As a privately owned businesses need to protect their business if the government is not doing anything.

This is nonsense. Loitering is a problem. If they had police forces removing them there would be a problem. A mall is a business not a shelter. If there is a chance im sure the tax dollar's the mall generate will help more than accepting loitering

Why is it the business owners responsibility to fix the homelessness issue? The government should be doing something, idiots want to fight for something they know nothing about 😔

its private property they should be allowed to boot them out if they want to if they were trying to use someone's house they would boot them out too .the advocates then should put them in their homes if they are so worried about it

If it is privately owned, then they have all the rights to do so. It is the government that needs take proper actions.

*I was not aware of this although I literally live 5 minutes away* from here (so close that I would be able to see it from my window had it been the right angle)!

For those that are supporting this adherent act obviously you've never experienced homelessness, many people would never think they will ever but it happens...people need to stop being so critical most homeless people don't want to live like this but have no choice, all they want is what you take for granted a safe, warm, dry and comfortable roof over your head, a shower & toilet and a place to cook meals....dignity and respect is all they want so dont judge because you don't know them, where they've come from & what the circumstances where to lead them onto the streets and remember this could be you, your child, sibling or friend....how about giving out warm gloves, hats & scarves, a blanket, socks or as you buy your coffee shout someone one too, this may be a lifesaver...and yes! I was a highly educated business manager by no fault of mine ended living rough for 6 years so I know first hand how it feels
