    I also have Yonex Astrox 99 Pro (4U) and strung with Yonex Exbolt 63 on 26 tension when I played doubles with my friends. When I smashed this racket from the backcourt, it felt terrific compared to my Yonex Astrox 88D Pro, which I presently use for doubles. The power of this racquet is a beast that the power assist bumper assisted me in smashing swiftly as the shuttlecock reached the sweet spot of the racquet; when it comes to defence, it was appropriate for the weight when I guarded it quickly. Control is adequate for nets, drops, and clean shots. So far, I really loved these two Yonex racquets, Astrox 99 Pro and Astrox 88D Pro.

    Hi, I have tried Yonex Astrox 88D Pro (4U) and strung with Yonex Exbolt 63 on 26 tension. I really loved it. It generates a powerful shot when it comes to smashing, and I can easily defend in every corner of the court. The speed is fast enough, and control is reasonable as well.

      @ovtroll1199 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find the 88d pro lacks a bit of control to what yonex is trying to sell. But ignoring that there is decent control, i find that the original 88d has more control in my opinion. I would argue that the original 88D is simular to the 99 pro but made heavily for the rear court in doubles and singles. I would say the 88d pro would be close to the 88S as its faster than the 88D, i would probably say equal if not a little faster than the 88s. Power wise it seems to have more power to the VCR material. Personally not a massive upgrade to the original 88D. 99 pro would be an upgrade from the original 99 and the 88d. Just my thoughts.

    What string and tension do you use on your astrox 99 pro?

  • @Justlookingaround19
    @Justlookingaround19 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Sweet spot is technically "wider" but if you are even slightly off the power generated is really poor probably due to the special string spacing that they implement on the racket. You still need to be pretty consistent on the sweet spot..

      I also have an 88D Pro and compared to the 99 Pro, I feel like 88D Pro feels a lot stiffer and does not have as much flexibility with control and deceptive shots. Honetsly, even though 99 Pro is said to have the "heaviest swing weight of the Astrox series", I actually feel like the 99 Pro is easier and lighter to use than 88D Pro. Hope that helps.

    What tension would you recommend for Astrox 99 pro? is it ok to play in double?

    • @Lily064
      @Lily064 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, it really depends on what type of playstyle you'd like to go for. 25lb is the general recommended tension. Those who'd prefer control more would typically go for a higher tension so like 28lbs+. Professionals seem to go higher, but I'd say that you need power and skills to back it up if you'd like to increase tension even more.
      For doubles, would recommend 4u, since you might have some difficulty with quick defense with 3u.

    Hello everyone, welcome back to the channel! After trying out the racket, I'd say this racket is a total BUY in my opinion. Although all my rackets are extra stiff and I rely on the control in my gameplay, I would definitely add the Astrox 99 Pro to my arsenal. Which colour do you think looks better, White Tiger or Cherry Sunburst?

      There's no major difference, its the same weight, just a couple grams different. Its easier to test out speed, bu, typically singles players use heavier rackets (3U) for weight balance and stability.
