there's something really special happening here...I feel with many bands, musicians will create music as a canvas for a lyricist to paint on, but with this band the lyricist is the canvas, and the musicians aren't painting on her, they're painting around her...truly cool
@Kirk Wolfe I respectfully disagree. Travel will be back. Besides, I don't think many bands were writing about touring/drinking/trashing, were they? Doing it, maybe, but not writing about it? Plus wasn't it really only the extravagant bands of the '70s actually doing that, ie not "indie" bands? And I don't agree that there is anything different going on with this song. I'm not saying it's not good, but I don't think this particularly unique. All the best for your music and your new album!
Saw them live this week and they were so so so good. The guitarist is amazing. The energy and riffs really hit different live (and he may be the coolest person i've ever seen). Florence killed it too
@@andrewstarling6936 Haha, no OCD then I take it ;-) Bear in mind she would then be at risk of having more shoe hanging over each side, unless of course she stood on one leg like a flamingo (thereby requiring her to borrow his pink cardie mid set...)
This track is fabulous - certainly my favourite so far from the new album. Love the psych-rock backing track - really evocative of the VU and early Stooges.
It's incredible what you can do with just 3 instruments and some people who knows what they do. Florence is the cherry on top of an already delicious cake...
It's rare for me to play a song twice in a row but I did this, there's loads and loads of brilliant music out there for a gen Xs taste like ours though, it just takes having a good mooch through the right places.
I really like the style of the music and how it’s like a energetic rad musical explosion, but the tone of lyrics and that kind of droning at your side being an unwavering voice in middle of the chaos that keeps you grounded. I’ve listened to like 6 songs and I want more.
This is exactly what comes to mind if Kim Gordon had teamed up with either Daniel Ash or the late John McGeoch. Or maybe what Velvet Underground/Nico would have sounded like if they were still active in the early 1980s. Cbus OH, CD 92.9's "Independent Playground" led me here.
I came here looking for somewhere to wash my mohair pink cardigan. The staff were a bit deadpan and noisy but luckily they had an extremely good value carpet offcut which i bought. Thanks
these lyrics are so raw tho! cuz the first 10+ times I heard this tune it was when TH-cam autoplayed it in mixes based on stuff like Sonic Youth, when I put it on in the background while cleaning etc... the sound really struck me and I thought "I can see why there's some hype around this band, they've got something pretty fresh going..." but when I finally actually listened to it, it was one of those things where the lyrics suddenly hit you. some pretty heavy shit, worded cleverly, and kind of subversively but simply, if you actually listen. the sonic texture the band is creating fits the words perfectly... kinda like Yard Act... cool shit
And to think I almost dismissed them a few years ago, Dry Cleaning, what sort of band name is that? Ha! How wrong could I be. So wrong! Just love them.
I love the juxtaposition of how bad ass the band is playing to the very ease of her subtle voice and stature
If this was my crew, I'd feel pretty happy about life.
lol indeed. If only there were a lot more folks like us heheh
Yes!

This phrasing is really spot on

This is so apt
Completely agree! It's that spoken word combo with wall of sound that surrounds but does not interfere.
This group is quite something.
I thought exactly the same upon first hearing them. Space Age Love ❤️
Those detached vocals over the raging riff, Love the contrast.
you nailed it. that's what makes it work. the repressed anger the vocals give makes it even more insane.
Tom just ripping that guitar to shreds!
He’s amazing
It's like each member is from a different genre/band but magically they all click together!
Definitely a doom metal influence with the guitar breakdowns
@@christopherjackson8958 the delay-heavy intro sounds just like something from an Osees album to me too
Exactly!! They appear on the surface to be completely mismatched, but it definitely works.
it's like, different textures, myan
I'm starting to become obsessed with this band. Very relevant to my interests.
he he...........................
"If you like a girl, be nice. It's not rocket science"
Hands down the funniest line in a song
wait til you hear kwenchy kups "pleated curtains partly hanging, partly pushed against the tinted window so it looks like a giant butt"
bad advice, good lyrics
Sadly, I think your right. Just another marker of how toxic western society has become!
Guitarist lad is incredible and super handsome too.what a band!
You're the guitarist aren't you?🤣
He's so out of tune it's driving me nuts with all those chord bends.... AHHHHHHH......
Very Fripp “RED” era. Dug it.
@@mikebordick6594 THAT'S WHY HE'S A GENIUSSSSSSS!!!!!
My Dad had a carpet and beds shop in the 80s, I’m loving the setting! Nostalgia!
What a smash! The dude in pink cardigan seemed to be possessed by the spirit of good music towards the end. I’ll watch this over and over again
It's like i'm listening to sonic youth and joy division ! This band is very unique and there's is something special going on with this band.
Defo joy division
Definitely. Something special is cooking here. The guitar work is sublime.
Something like ‘Gang of 4’ I thought
Can confirm - go see them live - it's not so much a concert but a whole vibe.
How can it be unique if it is just like something else ???
Saw them live this week and they were so so so good. The guitarist is amazing. The energy and riffs really hit different live (and he may be the coolest person i've ever seen). Florence killed it too
The best band in the world right now!!!
Not quite
The outfits 🔥❤️
the teeny carpet
Need to turn the carpet sample 90° so that the singer's heels aren't over the edge. :)
The guitarist makes a pink/beige chunky cardigan look super cool.
truth !

What a sick riff
This track is fabulous - certainly my favourite so far from the new album. Love the psych-rock backing track - really evocative of the VU and early Stooges.
I have never put a comment on a TH-cam video before however, this band is going to the next level - keep it going.
The most important Band in Rock today since the Talking Heads, i'm stoned 420 peace on earth buddys
There was a moment in the last week or so where Dry Cleaning was the only band I could listen to. That is still the case.
How's it going mate?
Nico fronting Slint, I love it.
Perfect.
Good Morning, Captain
I feel that slint vibe with this band too.
Spot on. Totally agree 👍🏼
World third best slint tribute act
That guitar tone, love it, intense... Yes
pure love here

I haven't been as hyped for an album in a while
Not since February for me (BCNR)

My goodness. Brilliant.
That bassline...yes.
Saw live 2 days ago. New favourite band.
I listened them this weekend at Interpol concert in Mexico city. Great show.
Ooooh that pink cardigan 😍
That was a cardigan? I assumed he'd draped himself in some Axminster remnant.
Their npr concert brought me here. At first I was surprised by the unique sound of their music but after listening to it some more, it’s captivating.
interesting refreshing band with a noticeable charisma. thank you, dry cleaning, thank you 4AD
wow, as a Gen X-er, I'd never imagine myself drooling over a contermporary band like this. Amazing groove over wan, detached vocals!

Ditto to the comment - and I'm a BOOMER!
Best band on earth. Cant wait for Malmö!
Captivating group. Very far out!
Love the guitar sound!
I've been waiting for a band like this since the Linoleum. Brilliant guys !
Hellz yeah. Just called the college radio station because this song is so bomb. Raw and her voice. Yes
wow, guys, what a weird combination of sounds, but it makes this song sound so damn cool!
and the guitar part is just mindblowing!
Yeah... The guitar's good

So very very very good! So glad I stumbled upon this group!
This soundtrack is terryfic, they deserve to be one hundred chart all time rock 🎸

Just saw them in San Francisco last night. I believe them.
This is the band we needed🙌

Love the intense guitar with deadpan vocals

Awesome. Whole band play their heart out.
🔥🔥🔥
Top!!!
The "safe-place" carpet for singing.... WIN!
The noise insulation in there must be amazing.
I know! When this pandemic is over, I'm gonna start having my band rehearse in a carpet store...
They originally wanted to shoot in an egg box factory

Literally my new favorite band. Thank you guys for the new music. Spectacular 😎
you are a smart lady and I love the Band and your work!
We love you too
And to think I almost dismissed them a few years ago, Dry Cleaning, what sort of band name is that? Ha! How wrong could I be. So wrong! Just love them.
I did that to the first Beck album then suffered a reverse by Odelay!
Almost as bad a name as Real Estate.
I did that with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Big mistake on my part 😂
Never make assumptions
i have a feeling it’s inspired by sonic youth “washing machine”
Amazing ❤
See you tomorrow at Paradiso in Amsterdam! Cannot wait!
That was a proper Mars Volta intro ☺ Can't wait for that album release!
sweet bass lines
I absolutely adore this band, so looking forward to their album, and their tour, cannot wait to see them. And that pink cardigan rocks!!! 🤣

AMAZING Band the guitar effects reminding me on early Bauhaus . The creepy short delay's. Love it .
Jason Williamson brought me here. Thanks baby!
