"I took off Chopin and started playing Bill Evans, carefully placing the needle down on the vinyl so as not to damage the record's already fragile existence. I stirred my black coffee three times precisely, once for each decade of my dissolving marriage while Tuna and Albacore watched from the windowsill. In the depths of my wife's eyes, I wanted to see a beautiful moon in the night sky, but I could only find a wavering reflection in choppy black water. She still had earlobes that could compete with the best of them, but I was too tired to even think much of it. Fortunately that mirror version of her was still there, in the mirror world I wanted to call my home in those days. The way there was still in the closet behind the typewriter, but before I could excuse myself to "write" the babysitter came in, who I will describe in two paragraphs of text that will make every inch of your skin crawl."
I like some of his female protagonist in his short stories. Also in general he normally writes sedated seeming characters who react to life like it's a dream. I'm not sure I've ever read one of his stories and thought "oh man this is a really good character".

Mr.Murakami, it’s an honor that you’ve commented on my video.
"we got cats."
*_"YESSS!'_*
I read 1Q84 and thought "hmm, some odd stuff in here, but probably just cause it's dealing with cults". Didn't realize its in ALL his work
I couldn't finish it. Too much "clearly the author's own sexual fantasies" stuff
The classic Murakami formula. Gotta complete the bingo!
French wine, jazz, weird sex, cats, rain
Perfection!!!
the accuracy of this 🥲
I’m so glad to be in the relatively narrow demographic that this video appeals to.
Thank you for finding me!
Me who has never actually read a Haruki Murakami book: omg yeah so accurate 😂
Same but I've seen the film Drive My Car, so I know a bit about his style
Of course I’m going to read it! No once can stop me.
Impossible challenge
I've only read Kafka on the Shore but I feel this is accurate
Notable lack of long winded EAR descriptions
There’s some of that in the new book!
bro's shirts look mad comfy
This most certainly does not need to be in HDR.
kind of a dick comment but you were right. changed my camera settings.
bro said it
Will there be trains in it too???
No trains in the new one!
so real, i agree it’s the most true with the younger women but i’m not sure he’s written a single good woman character period
who was that girl in Norwegian Wood

I think Aomame is pretty great
He writes great women characters, check out his short stories and Aomame in 1Q84 is awesome
lololol
😂😂😂
You all need to demystify him...
He can be a mediocre
