Yes for some reason doctors seem to think they are above having to take seriously patients whom often more experienced in their symptoms and consequent understanding of that side of it than the doctor, nor say what is so wrong with your question or remarks. They're often an odd type of people and can be extremely rude when calling people in! Before even talking to them! Those deserve any trouble they get but always have the benefit of the doubt in an adjudication scenario, so don't get any ideas, Mrs!Keep your handbags at ground level! They can be hostile, short tempered, "mysterious" if you will, and conceited more often than the rest of us with the exception of doctors receptionists, real estate agents, celebrities, police, bankers, I.T. bosses and lawyers. In the case of banker's, IT bosses, celebrities, CEOs, etc, Dr's & lawyers, this is what happens when you separate people from a familiarity with the general public by awarding them powers and/or paying them so much more than the average guy or gal. However, if the career commands it then it has to be, but each individual is answerable to their own conscience and to a higher power which is why some are reprimanded, struck-off, charged, sent for evaluation, fired, prosecuted!
Some doctors are wonderful but don't have the time to explain everything, especially when they know it won't help fix anything, or will only worry us an make the matter worse, and as always - there are other patients waiting to be seen. They have a very busy schedule and do more than we might realise, if a G.P./M.D. which in fact requires a further 4 years or more training in the best of countries! Mostly clinical and medical staff are less than pleasant due to very unpleasant patients on a daily basis when working certain areas, also due to high stress, and mostly time constraints and conversation with people far less sharp-minded than themselves which can seem not only a frustrating inconvenience to their efficiency but also annoyingly repetitive. Hence, some cannot help but show this on occasion. However, to adopt these reasons as a "press-pass" for recalcitrance and "sniping" at patients is an appalling abuse of their position and should not go unpunished and even moreso for nurses who are by far the worst offenders from my extensive experience. 🥺🧐🤬 It's good for them all if you report and complain because think how many I'll people are saved from the emotional distress caused by these arrogant people who can't bite their tongues! You report them, they stop and think, and change. If you don't, it's habit forming and their whole career can be spent getting away with upsetting innocent people! Sick people undeserving of this abuse at the hands of 'carers'! 🙉 Stay strong out there, people! 🎉💐 Remember now, sometime these people are the only help you'll get, when you have a stiff finger!🖕🏽

OH MY GOODNESS WHAT? Pulsatile Tinnitus. Finally figured it out! Since October 2011 (the day Steve Jobs died), I've heard this swooshing in my ear while in bed and during very silent moments of the day. In 2018 I finally went to multiple doctors to figure it out. They wanted to put me into a $6,000 dollar test to scan me so at that point, I gave up trying to fix this. Not one doctor EVER EVER EVER mentioned that this is from low potassium. This week, I had my levels tested at Ketocon and YES, I have low potassium. Now I'm watching your Potassium videos and I am linking this long-term noise in my ears to it. UGH. THANK you Doctor BERG! We love you

I collapsed and woke up in the ER. I was seeing flashing lights that were not really there. It was my brain struggling to process visual input. I didn't have enough Potassium so that electrical signals could travel around brain and my body. They had no idea what was wrong until the blood work came back and I could hear the doctor yell "Oh my god his Potassium level is so low get him on a Potassium drip stat!" 24 hours later I was stable. (I'll talk about this later)
The reason I am posting this to let everyone know the amount in your blood only indirectly determines where your body is actually at. Doctor Berg touches on this briefly but nowhere near the detail he should.
The normal range is 3.6 to 5.5 in the basic blood work but the problem is if you are below 4.0 you will slowly over time deplete your level in your cells. So I my case I was 3.6 to 3.7 every time I got blood work (twice a year) so my doctor said I was low end normal and no concern. I felt like crap but in the "normal blood range" Well it turns out after 2 years of this my inter cellular level was now in the critical level. That is when all hell broke loose and I collapsed (total black out)
So after the 24 hour of direct Potassium drip IV i was stable and my blood level was to 4.4. They wanted to release me but I couldn't stand with out getting dizzy. They couldn't figure out why until they talked to a specialist. He said to do an inter cellular test. And sure enough that came back as still low level. He said that is why even with a Potassium drip after 24 hours my blood work was still only 4.4. Anyone else it would have been 6.0+ .
It takes time to deplete and it takes time to refill the cells. I was given 3 days worth of Potassium drip bags and sent home. 3 days later I felt great. My bloods level was 6.3 but now my inter cellular level was finally in the normal range.
Now that the inter cellular level was good I stopped the Potassium in take and my blood level went to 4.2 in just days. Then back down to 3.5 just weeks later. I was then put on Potassium powder and I have been on it ever since 12 years later. I would continue with WHY my body uses up Potassium so quickly but the post is long enough and I hope others that read this will now know that there is more to it than just a blood work number that happens to be in normal range.

I might have your issue as well..What disease or genetic problem depletes your potassium inside the cells?

I would like to know why you were always low

    • @macheadg5er
      @macheadg5er 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

@@liontribeofjudah5616 well it turned out after they ran tests on my urine for a few months that it was always full of potassium. There was no name for this issue. Which for some reason my kidneys excrete/filter potassium at a very high rate and so to counter that I need more intake of potassium than a normal person. We have watched my kidney function closely and it is normal on everything else.
The inter cellular issue comes from having low blood level of potassium which over time depletes the cells. There is a fine balance between blood level and cells that the body tries to maintain but if blood gets too low potassium then cells start to lose potassium into the blood to compensate. You can only do this so long. You have to get potassium into your system.
Now say a marathon runner sweats out lots of potassium in a 2 hour race. That is blood potassium and why they do not pass out etc... It would take a few days of a very low level of blood potassium to affect the cells. (assuming the cells were in normal range at the start of the race) So race ends and runner drinks electrolyte drink and all is good. It was never low LONG ENOUGH to affect the cells.

It’s quite possible. And because cellular status is rarely ever checked, no one would know. It is estimated for instance, that only 1% of the body’s magnesium is in the blood at any given time, so by the time the serum Mg level drops, because the body will pull Mg out of the cells to maintain blood homeostasis, the cells are starving!

I was on a carnivore diet for about 2 months. I was told to make sure to take potassium and magnesium supplements while on the diet. After about a few weeks I ran out of the supplements. I felt fine and put off getting more. I was losing weight and everything seemed fine. Then I started getting these dizzy spells. I thought I had Covid, but I tested negative, multiple times. One day I was working outside and it was about 85-90 degrees outside and had one of my dizzy spells. They would usually last for about a minute, but this one was not going away. I went in the house to lay down and I was bouncing off the walls and could barely stand. I knew something was wrong. I laid down for about 30 minutes and was still very dizzy. I got up to get something to eat and fell down in the hallway. I couldn't walk. My wife helped me back to bed and got me something to eat and drink. After about 10 minutes I was vomiting violently. I thought I was going to die. My wife called an ambulance and they came and got me and took my vitals. My blood pressure was 185 over 90. I was still vomiting violently. Got to the hospital and they took my blood and said my potassium was dangerously low. They had to put almost 3 bags of potassium in an IV to get me to normal. I felt better but it took a couple days to get back to normal. Since then I bought a 3 month supply of both potassium and magnesium and take them every day. I've lost 35 lbs since I started the diet and feel great. And I've learned the hard way not to get lazy with my supplements when dieting. Hope this helps someone. : )

I've had issues with potassium for so long without knowing. I had almost every symptom even high blood pressure when I was in my teens. I even had my potassium low when I was in the hospital. When they gave me some potassium it made a huge difference. I've noted all these symptoms to my doctor and I never heard of the possibility of low potassium besides that one day. I've had my suspicions though. I know this diet change is gonna make me feel like a new person. I'm ready to start feeling better. I'm also motivated to inspire others to do the same.

Hundreds of thousands of people in the United States are victims of landlord abuse and hunted in the streets by Organized Crime. Five years ago I attempted a potassium overdose. I ate a bottle of potassium health pills thinking it might stop my heart. I got like an upset stomach. However my kidney function vastly improved and is improved even now five years later. If you have trouble releasing urine elevated potassium intake may help.

After working outside in Arizona for 28 years, I learned about potassium, firsthand. I and my employees experienced cramping and nausea mainly from low potassium, and sodium as well, a general drop in electrolyte level. This was all handled well when I started drinking V8 vegetable juice, original, in 12 ounce cans. V8 claims to have 680 mg. of potassium and about 8-900 mg. of sodium; this is the equivalent of more than one and a half 400 mg. potassium tablets and V 8 goes into the bloodstream very quickly. I had no problems after that, even in 115 degree heat! A friend called me a number of years after I had left Arizona, complaining about his hands cramping around the steering wheel. He was on the road at the time and rather panicky about the situation. I told him to pick up a 6 pack of V8 and drink it right away. He resisted, saying he would go home first and have his wife go and pick it up; I said NO, get it now! He got his hands off the wheel, bought it and drank 2 cans; in 5 minutes he was back to normal, at least as far as the cramping symptoms were concerned.

I ended up in the emergency room in 17 because I had a slight heart attack, I had hypertension badly and the main reason was I had no potassium in my body. 260 over 130 when I got there and they soon started large doses of potassium and it eventually came down. Took a few hours. Luckily it didn't damage my heart. I was on medication for a few years but now I just take supplements after dropping a lot of weight. I def. wasn't weak from the lack of potassium, I was installing granite every day and could pick up very heavy things easily, but I was carrying a very heavy piece when I had the slight heart attack. Amazing I didn't drop dead with that kind of blood pressure reading, or have a stroke. I take about 500 mg of potassium daily, 500 mg of magnesium, 2400 mg of garlic and I eat lots of ground flaxseed, celery, blueberries, and of course do a keto diet I learned from Dr Berg starting in 2020 during lockdown. I've been wondering if I should take more potassium daily though. BP is fairly sane now. Ha.

I apparently had a ‘heart attack’ about 2 months ago but I was never totally convinced because it started a week before with VERY high BP & digestive issues that progressively got worse - and have since continued ever since. I also had very elevated blood sugar that refused to go down even with plenty of insulin.
I ended up in A & E (ER) & because my heart enzymes were very elevated, they assumed it had been a heart attack. However they could find no obvious reason for whatever it was.
I now believe low potassium may have been a factor. It must have been checked but I haven’t a clue what the level was. But as has been mentioned in other comments, they rarely test cellular status, which is far more appropriate.
I am both obese & diabetic, so undoubtedly have issues absorbing/retaining it. I do take some periodically every few days but not much, & it may just not be nearly enough. I need to get the juicing going……. Over the last 2 weeks or so, I’ve been taking higher doses of Vitamin D, & I guess it’s possible that may be working with & using more potassium in my body, too, as I’ve become very weak & my left knee gave way under me yesterday.
I had a bit of chest pain this evening, but suddenly thought about potassium for some reason, looked it up, & came across symptoms. So I went & took some potassium citrate crystals (about 1333mg) & within a few minutes the pain was gone. After an hour or so, my muscles felt a bit stronger, too. And the whooshing has all but stopped in my ears.
As low potassium can potentially affect heart function, digestive function & insulin synthesis, I am now fairly convinced that was the real issue. It will be interesting to see what happens as my potassium status improves.

I remember having many of these symptoms before getting chronically Ill with CFS, or more specifically it was more like ME (as the world Health Organization described it. I had the slow progression type that gradually got worse over the years. It took FOUR YEARS of dietary changes (similar to keto) for me to get back my health. I knew nothing about the keto diet then.. that was the very BEGINNING of me learning how important our diet is in health and wellness. I learned from Doug Kaufman how many dz’s are fungally based. I was at deaths door, after suffering for at least 15 years (if not longer) and had no quality of life.. going from the bed to the couch unable to even stand for 5minutes without feeling faint! It destroyed my ability to earn any kind of living, and I was of no use to anyone.. and had NO IDEA for years it was all due to diet. I wasn’t even a heavy sugar or junk food eater! I had done the “food pyramid “ and focused on “healthy whole grains” as I thought this was healthy! I’d been deceived into believing it was healthy.. because I’d always been interested in feeding my family a “healthy diet!!
Now I’m learning from Dr Berg what a truly healthy diet is! Thank you Dr. Berg for these wonderful teaching videos!

      2.5 Teaspoons Magnesium Glycinate

I also add to my 8oz glass - 1 teaspoon xylitol and 5 drops natural water flavor (lemon/lime) and alternately use fresh lemon juice, with sparkling spring water to make it palatable.

Watching Dr.Berg for 3 years, this has made a huge difference in my strength, stamina, and eliminated my heart palpitations. I'm healthy by most measures like weight, blood pressure, fasting insulin and glucose so, because I'm active, I also eat sweet potato every mid-day (grow them myself). Recommended by my crossfit instructor, they're very high in Fiber, Vits. C and A and Potassium - 542 mg. NET carbs are 12-27 depending on size so I eat a small one, raw and cut in wedges like carrot sticks :) If I were obese or have chronic condition (diabetes, high BP, etc) I probably would not eat these. I also have a supplement that contains potassium, salt and magnesium all in one powder (LMNT is the brand) which really gives me a boost when I'm out working in the sun all afternoon. Even though I eat all the potassium foods, I suspect I have some absorption deficiency because the powder is more effective for a quick fix

The limp returned and i ate another banana. Apparently since i work in a lot of attics, and in the summer when it's 115 outside it's like 180 in the attics, it makes you sweat a LOT. Like drenched head to toe. Potassium comes out with your sweat. And low potassium can cause really bad ankle pain.

I just started dry brushing my skin 2 days ago to move lymph and help detox . Whenever I dry brush I end up peeing A LOT more so I know it’s moving lymph fluid and I’m loosing a lot of extra fluid and along with it minerals like potassium! Had it not been for this video I would’ve probably never figured it out and then paranoid that my hormones were messed up again. It all happened pretty much immediately after dry brushing- within 24 hours the peeing extra and constipation with no change to my diet at all . Now I’m going to need to take some electrolyte powder if I’m going to continue to dry brush because it really does work and I don’t want to stop.

I upped my potassium and low snd behold it's disappeared. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays the way. Pulsatile Tinnitus can be a scary thing and shouldn't be ignored as it can be related to vascular issues along with other concerns. Maybe not related but definately overlapping!! I'm anemic myself and have been increasing potassium the last few days. I've had a rest pulse at 75, now it's 55! I had breathing problems, gone. I couldn't poop because of iron tablets, which got fixed. I couldn't drink water, and when I ate something, the body completely freaked out...that is going away

The second time I was hospitalized they connected a medication that I was taking that had HTC in it so that is a diuretic and they believe that is what is causing my low potassium levels so now I take a potassium supplement and make sure I get enough foods that contain potassium in it. Because I need the HTC or else I will hold fluids. But honestly I felt like I was going crazy mentally and physically and finally broke down and went to the ER and funny enough the ER doctor was named Dr Berg!

Hi Dr. Berg, thank you so much, this makes so much sense!!!! Im doing keto day 6 and I really really had trouble sleeping last night. I have experienced the arythmia, constipation, hypertension, pulsatile tinnitus, muscle weakness, cramping calved, fatigue, I had trouble sleeping last night (I am currently sitting in the bathroom at 4 am), and myheart is a little bit sore... I think maybe from beating so hard for so long (7 hours) and my veins are a little sore too. Fortunately my mother is an alternative healthcare practitioner so I know just where to get all the right things, and Im going first thing in the morning.
You'd think since my mother is an alternative healthcare practitioner that I'd know these things and prepare accordingly! I guess I just didnt expect it to get this bad this time.
I've fallen off the keto wagon on and off, but have grown tired of being stuck in a rut and feeling awful so I have decided to stick to keto once and for all, no matter how much of my salary and willpower it takes. Experiencing what I was experiencing last night almost made me go back to a 'normal' diet to even out whatever I was missing, but I really didnt want to which is what caused me to seek out this video. I had no idea that a potassium deficiency had such a huge impact on the body. It seems you could die going for a prolonged period of time without it!
Thanks for all the indepth research you do & dots you connect Dr. Berg. Us Simpletons really appreciate it. God Bless you.

I plan to continue at least 2 doses per day for the entire 50 days. I will also see what effect it has on my hypertension. Time will tell the true effects. I had many of those symptoms and still have some. I was not properly educated on the causes, I was only told that my potassium was low and I needed to eat more potassium. I was never told how serious things can get. My freezer is full of greens, even beet greens, I also buy beets(I grew up loving and eating them). What I didn't know was how much and how often to eat these foods. I don't always have beets on my shopping list. I am diabetic and have weak muscles all over(not as bad as it used to be), and I get between 2-5 hours of sleep, mostly up to 4 hours of early morning sleep, no night sleep at all. I get maybe 30 minutes of rest during the day. It used to be scary to hear my own heartbeat while lying on my side and not knowing why, but was relieved when it stopped happening. I would love to hear more about the portions of these foods and how often.
Thanks for always sharing such healthy information.👍🏽👍🏽💖

But the mistake I did during this was I increased my salt intake and drank too much water. This must have decreased the potassium levels in my body and increased BP.
