Another thing is that urinating in public can cause you (you in this comment doesn't mean you as a person) to be registered as a sexual offender in some states in America. Once you're entered in the sexual offenders' registry, that's the end of life in America. You'll never get a responsible job because you'll never pass a background check. I warned a friend who just came to America in 1992 not to urinate in public, but he didn't listen. He was caught by the police urination one day and then put on the sex offenders' registry for indecent exposure of sexual organs. Since 1992, he couldn't get a job in America till today. All he does is drive a taxi, during the 31 years we've been here together. Nobody will hire him because he couldn't pass a background check.
Another issue is domestic violence similar to verbal abuse: if you beat a woman and you're put in the domestic violence registry (e.g., in Florida), you're better off going back to Africa because you'll never get a responsible job in America for the rest of your life. There's no statute of limitations for those offenses. A lot of Africans and African Americans have fallen victims to these problems and couldn't get a decent job in America. When some of them return to Africa, they often give bogus reasons for returning to Africa when, in actual fact, the reason for leaving America is that many of them have records of these issues that prevent them from living a decent life in America.
The law about spanking you read is a trap. A reasonable person won't spank any child. It's the victim that determines whether the spanking is reasonable, not you spanking the child. For example, children have different levels of tolerance for pain. You can spank five children with a tap of the hand; four of them may not feel anything, and one of them may react badly to the tap of the hand, especially if the child is a drama king or queen. If he reports feeling pain and requests hospitalization, your spanking will be deemed as unreasonable. Injury could be internal; it doesn't necessarily have to be visible. I have seen a lot of these cases in district and juvenile justice courts. So, it's always advisable to stay away from spanking if you want peace of mind.

You hit the nail on the head. A woman spanked her children just a little bit in canada. Although her reasons seemed reasonable but her children were taken away trom her by social services. She tried for years using this exact act read by Neze but like you said that act provision is a trap it didnt hold grounds... she spent all her savings in court till she became broke and went back to her country to commit su#icide. Another lady's child was taken away from her cause of a minor accident of her child swallowing bone from chicken stew. Every point you stated is so valid and shows you have experience indeed.

@@sarahreviewsinasmr Yes, I've seen everything in my 33 years in America and Canada. You can't even hear these issues on the news; only those of us who go to court everyday see them. The painful part of it is that you'll tell those who are just coming to the western world some of these things, they won't listen. Nobody wants to be told what to do.

In Germany, some of these rules apply too. Others like: showing the police the middle finger is a crime. Also, road rage is an offence, too. No matter how angry you are at another driver who messed your orderly driving, insulting them, or starting to have an anger show, is going to land you in court. Fighting and assault even when someone antagonises you, is an offence.

Quiet time is between 10pm and 7am. If you play loud music, or if your neighbours hear any noise coming from your home, they’ll call the police. To provide proof, the caller(s) may record the noise. According to our bylaws, the noise should not be more than 70 decibels or so. The neighbours called police on my friend who is an MFM prayer warrior because they heard prayer noises coming from their house during a vigil. I can only imagine what the neighbours must have heard……probably things like “die by fire” or something. Anyway the police showed up and said they were disturbing the neighbours with the noise. This happened in Alberta where I live. It may be different in other cities or provinces.

Neze, it is lovely that you are a lawyer and know what to look for. Please check with the Board of Education to ensure that is still law. I am amazed as they must have missed this law in modern reforms. You can't even go on and on talking/telling children about doing homework the way we do in 🇯🇲 when they don't want to, etc., as it is considered abuse and children can report you. Children can tell lies about being beaten and can be removed from parental care and put into state care even without signs of beating. Neze, I love the fact that you cover topics that can impact the relocation of persons to 🇨🇦. In other words, once you get to C🇨🇦, mind your own business and don't impose your standards on others. If you do, then persons have legal recourse. No going on the buses and subways preaching unless you want to be arrested. No private display or cussing behind your own doors and think it is OK as neighbours have an obligation to call the police even for suspicion of dimestic or other abuse. As usual, well done and you are doing an excellent community service to your global audience. Blessings.

Had a good laugh about your dos and don't. The same laws concerning smacking and beating of children applies in South Africa. In fact, any form of smacking or verbal abuse is prohibited especially in schools a teacher can be charged or dismissed. There is a hotline kids can call to report parents or teachers. I am South African who is married to a Nigerian, luckily, he did not believe in beatings and verbal abuse. The secret was, teach your kids acceptable behaviour and manners from when they are babies and from there a look is enough to pull them into line. Of course scolding will be needed from time to time. So when my husband passed and we moved back to SA and got to hear of these laws, I had a huge framed poster up in the kitchen that this home is not a democracy but a dictatorship. My rules are the only ones that are valid. Whomever was not happy with that, the gate is open, they may leave. At this time they were teenagers and you know they will try you. Glad to say, my kids have turned into decent adults, thank God! As for all your other do and don't, they also do apply here too and we all live by the adage that in life 3 things are certain, life, death and taxes. Even in death the taxman will come for you.

@biodunumartins3348 Thanks for your view, however, I am into family and employment law and I know what I am talking about . Section 58 of the Children Act 2904 allows you to reasonably punish your child and that was why I asked how reasonably is reasonable. It is case by case - a punishment/smack amounts to reasonable will depend on the circumstances of the event. No punishment should leave a mark on a chil's body.
The error that we black parents make is that most of us believe that we can't punish a child then leave the Children to be disrespectful. If you visit rich educated white family you will see how respectful their children are because they know the law and know how to apply it when it comes to social services.

In the US you can’t touch a child whether you’re a parent or a teacher. It’s considered child abuse and we teachers do a computer based training at the beginning of every school year. It’s called Child Abuse and Neglect. A teacher’s credential will be revoked if you touch a kid. It’s very serious in the US. A child might call 911 and report a parent or a teacher or any adult who hits him/ her. Jail time awaits you and a huge fine might be included.
One more thing,it is also considered child abuse if you neglect your child or your ward by not providing basic necessities like shoes, jackets, food, backpacks etc. As teachers we are trained to look out for bruises and bites on the children’s bodies. Teachers must report any child abuse to the appropriate authorities. We are “mandated reporters” If you don’t report you will be prosecuted and jail time plus a huge fine awaits you also. It’s damn too serious

You don’t pray for your patients as a health care professional. A Nigerian nurse and dr were recently stripped of their licenses and deported From the Uk just because they prayed for their patients unsolicitedly .
It’s that serious,do your work and go,not everyone is a believer, except a patient demands to be prayed for ,of which you invite the appropriate person designated to do that like the hospital chaplain.

Maybe the spanking the child is describing is more than the reasonable threshold Neze explained. Wishing your brother and nephew all the best, children think being taken away to somewhere else will be better, they just don't know it doesn't always work like that smh

Why you feel say everything in Africa is bad.... Nigeria is defensive driving... whilst in the abroad is a self entitled drivers... why do you think the insurance rates always go up... Drivers are murons mostly in the western world... they rather get that accident and collect claims undermining the server circumstances... nigerians will rather try to avoid that accident as much as possible except the driver is a big muron.... always try as much as possible to stay away from troubles... make your circle small and say less and listen more...

Home sweet home and I'm very ok too so u can stay wherever u at no one cares 😂

Canada has gun laws that the US does not have, so people don’t have access to weapons like in the US. Hence, we rarely have school shootings.
