I get you, run for your life madam.

Their life, their decision. Couples don’t just go their separate ways for no reason. Some things must have gone on for a while before they got to this point. We don’t have those details. It is never too late to walk out of an unhappy situation.

May be a whole hidden family emerged out of no where..
i mean a whole wife and children grand pa was keeping all these years.
while the woman kept her status aside and worshipped her husband in full submission.
not every woman can deal with such level of betrayal and heartbreak 💔 because seeing that man everyday will only succeed in shortening her life.hence she has to be alone.
i wish them all the best.

This is the first divorce I feel no human should have an input in; why?? Because they have gone through a life that most haven’t even thought of being in and if she says she has had enough then she has had enough💯.
I can’t help but wonder if at her lowest (eyesight decline) she just realised who she was married to.
For example, Wendy Williams left her marriage when everyone thought there was nothing Kevin could do to her that would ever make her walk away, mind you, I am sure cheating was never the problem but the outside child was the deal breaker.
Every human has a breaking point and when the one person you have pardoned all your life break that point then freedom is permitted 💯
I wish mama all the best with her life 😘

My mother is waiting for the right moment to leave my father after over 30 years. The notion that men change as they grow older is mythical, some men don’t change if anything some of them get worse with time. Choosing peace over disrespect, humiliation and inconsideration is better at a latter time than dying unhappy. It’s never too late to choose happiness than feigning happiness. I learnt a lot from my parents marriage and one of them being it’s better to actually be happy on the inside than showing everyone outside that you are happy but are actually dying on the inside. Most women from our mothers’ generations endured a lot in the hands of their husbands but God is gracious. I don’t support divorce per say but I know that leaving my father will give my mother the peace and integrity she’s deserving of as the hardworking woman she is. Don’t always place the value of a relationship on how long it’s been lasting, it could be lasting on abuse at the cost of one person. God is good

I can relate very much with this. I could have taken such a decision to back out of my marriage after 40 years too but something miraculously happened. He became sick and looked like dying. The fear of death and hell which he's heard severally previously became bare. He has been humbled by God and now I have peace ✌️. 😅. Genuine repentance changes people. Keep praying for God's intervention 🙏. Believe. My children suffered emotionally too but couldn't face their father's .....

The things women go through in the name of marriage just to remain a 'Mrs' is too hurting. Me, I left barly two years after marriage to keep my sanity and to stay alive. That has been the best decision I ever took in life. I would have long been gone from the surface of the earth if I had remained in marriage. Thank God for the decision to go my way.

For a marriage that lasted this long to break there has been many hidden underlying issues and the children are in full support of the separation. Last year my aunt's marriage of over 38 years broke, the pain we felt was intense but it was surprising that my cousin's were actually in support of the separation.

It could be infidelity. I had an Aunt and uncle who were together over 60 years! About 5 years before that Aunt died, she answered a phone call from one of my uncles side chicks! She was shocked! I believe he hid everything so well that she didn't find out anything until very late in the marriage. From there she spiraled. She refused to go back to her house, she moved back and forth between 2 of her children's houses( she had 5 kids total ) and eventually dealt with dementia! Not long after all of this, she died!! It was horrible! My uncle felt terrible but it was too late. They never divorced but my aunt did permanently live with her children in her final years.

Jesus,!!! I'm so sorry, I can imagine how heart broken, she must have been. What an animal in human form, some unreasonable cheating couple could be? Many people did not know that this body is just a vehicle. The real person is the spirit that no one sees physically. That spirit is directly from the thrown of God. It is very sensitive, and it is equivalent to the holy spirit, that God put inside of us. The moment that spirit is deeply wounded, which the physical body reacted as being hurt, that spirit flew away. The sensitivity reaction could be very high if the person hurt is never living a life of no comprising. Obviously, maintaining the boundaries of marriage according to that first day marriage instructions by the minister. It does not matter if it native /customer marriage or a white wedding marriage .Loyalty, faithfulness, love, and honesty are highly required.. People should be conscious that this earthly journey is just a moment. At the end of the day, everyone will stand to give account of all their work in this world. No, sorry, there.

Life is too short there is no smoke without fire in her final decision. Being happy is what matters in life. there is no sentiment about this age, experience does not matter. I praise her courage! My mum is stuck in her marriage she is just there like living in the same house with my dad like a house mate with no commitment to each other. Leaving unhappy marriage is a personal decision; no one can make it for you not even your children or loved ones. I always believe what is not good for you walk away from it! Don’t care what people will say though it takes a lot of courage to do so.

Couples go their separate ways when one party keeps abusing the emotional stability of the other party. As one grows older, it's expected to drop old habits but when the case is otherwise, separation is necessary.
I have seen a couple who separated when they were in their 90ties, because he found out all the children he trained and fathered were not his...
Currently, one has left because of continuous abuse from her partner even with grand children, some men still misbehave. It's your choice to stay or leave.
But for me, if a partner consistently misbehave in a union, it's better to leave and have your peace.

Even at 1000 years provided one is still in good Health and still have a good sense of reasoning he or she is bound to feel pains.
A marriage does not necessarily have to dissolve because of physical abuse, there are other forms of abuse that hurts deeper than even a physical one.
Nomatter how rich or influential she is, she is still a person and feels pains. A woman with a healthy self esteem will always find the courage to walk out of any relationship that saps her energy and this may include physically, emotionally, or mentally.
To me, it is a lesson we should learn from that sometimes if it is not working then it is just not working! Let it go and find peace, if it comes back to you again and if your heart can take it, then enjoy it and if otherwise, move gradually or swiftly!

A reminder to single ladies desperate for marriage. Marriage is work and imperfect. You both will continue to evolve into new persons and must decide if you truly want to put in the work. Nigerian men also have been handed the right to bad behaviour because of this desperation. I hope people would truly look inward and evaluate their desire for a lifelong commitment.

    • @kasikwagoma6740
      @kasikwagoma6740 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@Seyi.O, I am not Nigerian, yet your comment should apply across Africa in its entirety. Marriage has been so overblown, that it is marriage and not education or self advancement that has become the ultimate goal for the girl child. Have you heard of the women only village in Kenya called umooja? It was founded by a kenyan masaai lady so fed up with the horrible abuse she suffered at the hands of not only her cruel husband, but the males in her masasi community(it is highly patriarchal) and the last straw for her was when she was raped by a group of British soldiers as she went to collect firewood and water(these demonic British soldiers have a training Base or shooting range in Kenya, close to where the masaai community live. After she reported this to her husband, he beat her up and then the men in the community beat her up so badly she ended up in hospital. African men who have ruined Africa, did not support this poor woman, but instead said she had brought shame on the community, just imagine this rotten thinking and mindset. When she left hospital she decided that she could no longer live alongside men, whom she thought would protect and defend her (trust me, had these soldiers raped any woman in Arab muslim north Africa, their base would have been blown up by islamist suicide bombers, even the British would have seen this coming, but they know blacks will do nothing and forgive them instead). That rape incident made her realise she actually didn't need men. She went and got a small piece of land and built her own hut because in masaai land it is the women who build the houses. Gradually other abused women joined her. No men are allowed to live there and the community is thriving so much, the men have become envious and jealous. They have tried many times to attack the women, but they ladies always put up a fight and chase them away. This lady proved that women can do things also, not just the men.

hi Neze, love your work as always! I am not sure whether my views are applicable to our own African contexts, but for some years now, I have spoken to a few women who I met in diaspora ending marriages after 27 years+. These women often say they get to a certain age and they start evolving, growing, but the men get to a certain age and they're done evolving (hence things like mid-life crisis). As a result of this, they find themselves in a situation where the woman has changed a lot and the husband is still the same. This often creates 'irreconcilable differences'.

Thanks Neze, as always looking forward to seeing your videos. I don’t know what will make a couple that have spent almost half of a decade together separate. If they endured each other’s excesses all these years, then nothing should separate them, except it’s a life threatening issue. I pray and hope that God will touch them both to work through this phase.

You are NOT to decide what should make a person decide to leave a marriage.
Stop projecting what you will do unto another.
      She has left,
You can stay,in the name of nothing should separate them, except it is life threatening.

Hmmmn. It is he who wears the shoes that knows where they pinch. There are so many little battles that go on in marriages, which are most times 'swept under the carpet' for the sake of the children and / or the status of parties in society. These may eventually escalate into a terrible war where there would be no victor nor vanquished.
Marriage can be categorized most times as oxymoron, a bitter-sweer situations. When the sweetness and the bitterness are of equal proportion, parties may just use the sweet to swallow the bitter and continue to manage the situation. This may go on for decades and no outsider, sometimes, even the children would be privy to what is happening in the home. However, when the bitterness of the bitter-sweet is in overdose, parties may find it unpalatable and unmanageable to swallow any longer, especially the party that might have been taking a larger dose of the concussion all along.
Marriage institution is a mystery. The challenges cut across both the rich, the not so rich, and the poor. May God help all the parties involved in Jesus's Mighty Name 🙏

This reminds me of the 92 year old media tycoon who divorced his wife via email with 11 words! 😳 The wife said they had never fought except for small disagreements that are normal. She was given 30 days to move out of his property & was required to show RECEIPTS to prove that what she was taking belonged to her. 😮
A 99 yrs old Italian man filled for a divorce from his 96 yr old wife of 77 yrs after he found letters from an affair she had 60 yrs earlier.
I think one can get a divorce at any point in their lifetime. Once a man starts thinking that he can abuse, disrespect & humiliate you because you are too old after 60 yrs of marriage and you can't go anywhere, you need to choose how & with who you want to spend your last years on earth with.
As people get older, their time becomes very valuable. Achieving their goals before they die can push them into extreme actions.
Also, Ending your life well and at peace with yourself, God & others becomes very important. Your legacy and what you want to leave behind and with who defines your decisions.

Growing older is a challenging transition. Particularly as one can not truly lose another. Many times, people assume that older couples are too familiar with one another to break up, but in my opinion, the reverse is true. Some develop excessive grumpiness, others disproportionate gloom, or behaviour and expectations that are almost hard to meet. Simply put, the goalpost move & nothing is a guarantee. Unfortunately, things change and sometimes the path to a happily ever after may involve a breakup.

Travel around, have fun, have a date night every which and just be happy for themselves and everyone around them. I thinking the judge will grant the divorce but she was wise enough and say at what age, what example are they passing to the grandchildren? I hope they can both have good marriage counseling.

Hmm, I have never heard this before but I'm not surprised. I know the illness has a huge part to play. I'm watching a series where an older character is sick and she's extra cranky: at first she begged the nurse to cover her face with a pillow. She had a stroke all of a sudden and she felt her life was over. Old age is actually not easy, life has changed mostly for the worse in terms of health and agility, for someone who had been influential and powerful (she seems to have aged well too) the thought of having bad eyesight is probably a lot: she's probably moody all the time. I pray God sees her through anyway. Life no easy at all, even for billionaires.

Sad as this is for their families, friends and well-wishers, I wish them well as they continue the next phase of their lives separately.
I think when one gets to that age, one begins to value life a whole lot more, realizing that each day is very precious, as another 20yrs of life isn't guaranteed. It makes absolute sense to be in pursuit of inner peace at all cost in that age. If divorce is what it takes for them to be more at peace with themselves, then so be it. Marriage is beautiful, but it isn't the most beautiful or fulfilling thing in life. I truly wish them well.
